Yeah, fandom has become a real dopey deal in the age of Social Media. I'm just glad I'm not a Star Wars fan because the shit I've heard about a group of them is just toxic. I'm right there with you. If I even gave a single, solitary fuck about Star Wars, I'd hang myself. I have no idea what's going on with that fandom, whose fault it is or why on god's green earth I should ever care. I'm like the dude on the end of the line with Liam Neeson --- "good luck." Click!

I don't put a lot of stock in RT. None, in fact. But for what it's worth the movie looks terrible, so negative reviews don't surprise me.

I hear a lot are fake reviews You heard wrong or are intentionally misrepresenting the truth. When the social media review embargo lifted fans of Lady Gaga went to Twitter to post fake reviews. If you didn't know Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic don't aggregate social media reviews.

Distracts the villain so other team members can attack? Yeah, distraction is such a stupid plan Distractions are not per se stupid, merh. Distraction of the main villain by dance off (!) is a stupid plan. Dumb as an infinity stone.
This is why this scene will live on in infamy. Even Pratt made fun of it in Passengers.
Not getting why it is stupid just makes you MCUs look dumb.
Except the director laid the groundwork. He established thru Drax the Kree are exceptionally literal throughout the movie. Thus the gamble that Ronan would be destracted long enough for Drax & Rocket to set up the shot was worth it. You think having Gamora show her tits would have been a better distraction? That's been used in plenty of other movies with less fuss. Not that Ronan would care so it wouldn't work.

But to be distracted by a dance off is exceptionally stupid, merh. Remember how clever B-movies handle this: It had made no difference as the main villain was exceptionally stupid anyway, merh. Why that, was he established as being exceptionally homosexual? nevermind...

It's not just that the Kree are super literal, its also that Quill's culture from Earth bares far and away any resemblance to how they interact and do things on Hala - the Kree home world. It is quite unlikely the Kree regularly perform the kind of Dancing Quill displays in that moment of the movie or that there is such a thing as a "dance-off" where they hail either. Not only that but the decision to try something as random and out-of-place in such a time is going to obviously distract and irritate, and for Quill it worked as Rocket and Drax were able to blast Ronan's hammer and free the stone.

I hear a lot are fake reviews Oh believe me they aren't, this movie is, to quote Venom, a turd in the wind. And so much for that mature and dark movie, huh?

I saw Venom today. It's okay. I've never been a fan of the character but this movie is a good enough way to kill 2 hours.

7/10.
I liked the first 2 acts a lot. The villain is actually pretty well developed, its clear to understand his beliefs and justification for his immoral practices. Tom Hardy is great at his reactions to Venoms mind thoughts. Really funny lines too like when he refuses to jump. Story focuses a lot on setting up Eddie Brocks backstory and character personality too which is important to establish before he bonds with the symbiote.
But the final fight is too rushed. Venom all of a sudden wants to save the world. Too dark to see what's happening. The fight needed to be grounded in the middle. Have Eddie Brock try and talk to the villain and tell him that his symbiote is deceiving him. Try to talk him out of it and gain common ground by saying how he knows how good the power feels. Kinda like Spiderman 3 when Peter Parker is attempting to reason with Eddie.
Other than that it was pretty enjoyable. No way is this 29% worthy.

I am glad I saw Venom first then Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness Halloween Horror Double Feature after. It raised my spirits after Venom. I will have to see Venom another time for indepth review. For now after 6 hours of being in theater and just getting home almost every aspect of Venom was bland, meh, or disappointing. There was one bright spot Tom Hardy's physicality I knew going in would be superb, but I didn't know that would translate to the suprising physical humor. Most of me doesn't want to go to see it again so soon. I am supposed to see it again tomorrow with my brother or possibly Monday. Maybe I will enjoy it more the second time.
