we'll know this week.
trickle down effect.
if kawhi bolts - i'm thinking Danny Green bolts - lowry is getting older - I think Siakam (spelling?) was a product of 'the system' - want to roll with him as your top guy?
kawhi bolts they're toast

rockets asking for numerous #1 picks for Capela, Tucker, Gordon - and in turn package to Philly for a sign and trade with Butler.
I can't see the Rockets getting high #1 picks for either of these guys - perhaps a very low 1st Rounder?
not quite sure how this would exactly work - as i'm intrigued a bit. i.e. not necessarily sure if the Sixers need to take back players on a contract to make salaries work for a sign and trade. if so - no go - we'll just take our chances in free agency.
but the thought of having like 3 firsts - taking no current players back and letting Butler walk - then in turn using that money to sign Danny Green, Terrence Ross, Malcolm Brogdon/Al Horford - it's intriguing a bit.

find it fascinating - kyrie will more than likely be on the Nets.
so...
where does that leave D'Lo?
i'll let one of Butler/Harris walk - sign D'Lo to run at the '2' next to Ben (who Fultzy was supposed to be) - and then use the remaining money on Brogdon and re-signing JJ to come off the bench as your sharp shooting '6th man'.

*** breaking ***
Anthony davis makes amends to his upcoming contract so the Lakers can sign another max player
fascinating.
let it be Butler.
i'm becoming more and more intrigued by letting both Butler and Harris 'walk' and filling out the roster with a strong squad to go along with Joel/Ben (and re-signing JJ as a 6th man).

How the fuck are the Lakers gonna sign Kawhi even if they do work a max contract slot?
Are they gonna play with six guys all season? They traded away half their squad to get Davis, they just send three more guys to the Wizards, and if they do sign Kawhi, they have no money to fill out the team with role players. They are already in desperate need of shooters.
Likewise if the Rockets contort their salary cap situation for a sign-and-trade for Butler, they're giving up major defensive/wing pieces for a guy with big upside but also a history of being a salty MFer.

Porzingis is not an elite player. Take a look at his tertiary stats -- a 7'3" guy who has never cracked 50% on two-point shots. Just for context, the season before last, Stephen Curry shot .595 on two-point shots, and players at the elite level all shoot well above 50% on twos.
Same deal with Kemba.
That would be a low-efficiency team with two ball-dominant guys who aren't as valuable off-ball, then goofy-ass Porzingis hoisting up threes and not rebounding. Porzingis also sucks on defense.

Couple more things:
- Lakers only have three guys under contract: Lebron, Davis, Kuzma.
- If Kawhi leaves, Toronto's 2019 banner will be known forever as The Rental Championship. Corny-ass Drake, the Raptors "superfan," will return to showing off his Warriors tattoos. He doesn't have a Kyle Lowrie tattoo.
- Are Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving really going to the Nets, the team with the worst attendance in the entire NBA? Is Irving going to enjoy playing for a crowd of 13,000 every night while Durant rehabs? And considering what a bitch it is to get to Barclays Center, can the Nets fill the arena every night even if they have both of those guys healthy and on the floor?
It's easy for Manhattanites and commuters to leave the office, grab something to eat and get to MSG for a 7 pm tipoff. Not so easy to get to Barclays.

The Mavs are primed to strike.
The Zinger has been hiding out over his injuries and rape charges too over the years.
Put him with Doncic, and a big Time F.A...….
It's time for the Zinger to 'Zing'
This guy right here says the Mavs make the playoffs next year
The return of The Zinger.

hey I ain't gonna complain if we 'roll it back' with butler, tobias - I need JJ on the bench - and Zhaire, Shake, and Thybulle to play a roll off the bench
I ain't going to cry either if one or both walk. I want JJ as a 6th man.
im fascinated by the options to fill out a squad around Embiid/Simmons...……...

Raptors Celtics?
so....this is a pretty much a Bucks/Sixers war in the East with up and comers like the Nets and Hawks coming...………

Yeah I don’t think it’s a big loss if they lose Harris. Butler is a true two-way player, so he’s always going to be valuable, but the Sixers ended up with too many guys who need the ball. IMO their biggest issue is developing Embiid into a solid pressure player. For a guy who can be so dominant, he often disappears during big games and during tough matchups. Giannis made Embiid his bitch this past year and it was painful to watch. I’d put Giannis and KAT above Embiid as far as premiere big men go. KAT has the best fundamentals since Tim Duncan and if he can be more aggressive, he will be invaluable.

Celtics’ future suddenly doesn’t look so bright, especially if they lose both Kyrie and Horford. They seem to be under the impression that Terry Rozier can step in and fill Kyrie’s shoes. Terry Rozier, a guy who has never cracked 40% on field goals in his entire NBA career. Between Rozier and Smart, they’ve got the worst-shooting tandem in the league.

I really like the Horford signing though, also that it pushes Harris to the 3.
