Sadly, I fell into the same trap as I did once before, as it seems like I got the exact same DVD version, the 104 minute long cut and the only difference is that the DVD artwork was much cooler looking than my old one. Still, it is whats inside which counts, and once more I ended up on the losing side. I guess I have to be ordering it online, to avoid doing the same mistake three times in a row, as I am curious of how much different the uncut version is and how it might affect the film. Damn, that's a shame. Well I really hope you do come across the uncut version some day soon. It was Anchor Bay that put it out.

Damn, that's a shame. Well I really hope you do come across the uncut version some day soon. It was Anchor Bay that put it out. I see that Amazon have at least two DVD copies lying around with an added runtime of 123 minutes, but instead of making a third mistake I will probably just head straight towards the uncut Anchor Bay version instead. Thanks for the info of which version to pick up by the way.

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) - DVD Remember back in the hot summer of 2013, going in trying to see the first one which seemed to have only raving praise/reviews of what was supposedly " the greatest superhero film of alltime", and I could not be more in the opposite and very likely minority section, as I almost gave upon it, halfway through. As with most of the Marvel Universe characters, none of them I end up caring much for and I will probably try to get through this second or is it the third? chapter then never watch it again. It was dirt cheap and one of many of todays or this weeks impulse buys as well.
Gangster Squad (2013) - DVD Not seen a good or even rarer, great mobster movie in at least a decade or more, this I guess will work hopefully as lighthearted entertainment, but I doubt it will sit later on among the great gangster titles in my movie collection.
Mars Attacks (1996) - DVD Another film I alread own a copy of, however that version is very scratchy and since I remember that I used to like the film back in the 90s, I decided to pick it up for a second time.
The Spy Next Door (2010) - DVD From the look of it, another cartoonish, over-the-top Jackie Chan comedy.
The Hi-Lo Country (1998) - DVD Impulse buy.
Interceptor Force (1999) - DVD I have only seen three other of Olivier Gruner and his movies, mostly below average straight to video releases, but judging only from its DVD artwork/cover, it looked like it could be a "promising" late night b-movie.
Treasure Island (1950) - DVD Have been on the lookout for this film, for years. Finally found a perfectly used one for the price of almost nothing.
Ghost in the Shell: The Movie (1995) - DVD I bought it last year, but the newly released copy had lots of problems with very uneven subtitles, which is not very helpful when the audio is in Japanese. Yeah, I know the english version was included, but I try to stick with the original one as often as I can. This however have scandinavian subtitles and comes with both the original and dubbed version as well. Hopefully someone did a better job there.
Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (2004) - DVD Never seen it, but it was lying next to the first one and so I had to bring it home with me.
Pulse (2006) - DVD Horror film I just picked up in the last minute.
U2 - Go Home: Live at Slane Castle Ireland (2001) - DVD One of two concert films I picked up today. Never been their biggest fan, but cannot deny the fact they put up some good shows and I remember watching a bit of this concert back in 2002 on TV.
U2 - Zoo TV: Live from Sydney (1993) - DVD The second live concert, and one I have some hopes for, as I have a rather bad memory of another Zoo TV concert, which might have been a poorly shot bootleg, but both the sound and picture quality on that DVD was some of the worst I have ever witnessed, and I ended up getting suckered in.
Glenn Miller - Moonlight Serenade (1992) - CD My first of several impulse purchases, I knew only two of his songs but they are such fun to listen to, so I had to pick up this rather nicely used copy. Pennsylvania 6-5000 I remember most well from hearing it in the 1980s horror-comedy Transylvania 6-5000.
Otis Redding - The Dock of the Bay (1968) - CD Another album by an artist which I have not much to go on by from only hearing a couple of his songs but I hope this album might be a promising one and maybe a nice introduction towars more of his music.
The Pogues - Red Roses for Me (1984) - CD I found it lying around in the half price section, and having only heard their late 80s hit, Fairytale in New York, I am not sure what to expect but it would be nice to get a positive surprise every once in a while.
Alice Cooper - Welcome to My Nightmare (1975) - CD Finally picked up one of the albums of Alice which have been missing for years now in my music collection. Never heard it before, and while he sure have had a rather uneven and at times very poor solo career as an artist, I hope this one might be a keeper as sadly to many of his late 70s and early 80s outputs have been mostly somewhere between terrible and below average.

Todays impulse purchases:
Going in Style (2017) - DVD Impulse buy, mostly because of the solid main cast, consisting of Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin. Seems to be another crime-heist/comedy with a much older guard, and I remember Freeman had a similar themed film a few years back with Christopher Walken, I think it was The Maiden Heist which looked promising but really was just a poor comedy attempt with a very good cast.
Midsumer Murders - The Killings at Badger's Drift/Written in Blood/Death of A Hollow Man (1997) - DVD I have always enjoyed the earlier episodes or seasons of this cozy and highly entertaining british summer crime series, and while the later ones, specially during the last few years have been at times a bad parody (at best), I am glad to have finally found what I think are the very first episodes of Midsumer Murders on DVD.
Scooby-Doo! and the Loch Ness Monster (2004) - DVD While most of these DTV animated releases have maybe not ecactly been top quality, they still often make up for some lighthearted and at times fun/silly entertainment.
The Dark Knight Trilogy (2005-2012) -DVD While I already own all three films from before, this used copy comes with a nice packaging, including a neat and richly detailed book or inside with information, pictures and more about the making of each film.
Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (2001) - DVD Impulse buy, and one which I have never seen before.
The Adventures of Tin Tin: The Secret of the Unicorn (2011) - Blu-ray Another animated feature I have yet to see, but always wanted to do and picked up a perfectly fine used copy of it.
Gone With The Wind (1939) - DVD Another classic which I have never seen before, but for such a nice price I managed to make it a new home for now in my collection.
The Moomins (1990) - DVD Hopefuly todays top bargain was to find four DVD volumes of the Moomins, with 3 episodes on each disc. I loved this children animated series as a kid back when it was being broadcasted on norwegian television and have not seen it since the early 90s.
Mortal Kombat (1995) - DVD I already own the film on Blu-ray, but since I loathe the blue plastic cover and also terrible artwork it got, I picked up the film once more on DVD. Not a great one, but very entertaining still and surely among one of the better martial arts action/adventure titles of the mid 90s as well.
The General (1926) - DVD Buster Keaton classic, which comes with a nicely detailed booklet and a bonus feature disc with lots of extra material.
In the Name of the Rose (1986) - DVD Already own one copy of it, but it is a great film and some films I think it is better to have two of rather than none. Just in case.
Crocodile Dundee (1986) - DVD Already own one copy of it, but it is a great film and some films I think it is better to have two of rather than none. Just in case.
Total Recall (1990) - DVD Already own several copies, but as I said above and above that one, some films I think it is better to have two or more rather than none. Just in case.
Kill the Irishman (2010) - Blu-ray Ray Stevenson, Vincent D'Onofrio, Val Kilmer and Christopher Walken is the only reason to why I picked up this impulse purchase. Only judging from the poorly made artwork and noticing that Walken and Kilmer is thrown in at last, I am not expecting much but would always be nice if I am to be surprise for once.
Casablanca (1943) - DVD Another big classic, which I think I do already own but that copy had terrible artwork and I hate when that happens.
Whitesnake - 1987 (1987) - CD Always wanted to have this in my music collection, along with an 80s version of Tawny Kitaen dancing around in her night gown in my apartment.
John Williams - Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) - CD Might just be one of my most fond purchases today, this two disc album features the music of the first Star Wars movie and is a 1997 CD release. I really hope the sound quality is great as I have been on the lookout for this release for years.
The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King and The Lord of the Rings: Two Towers - Hardcover Picked up two books about two of the Lord of the Rings movies, which I did not have and while both are "used" they look almost brand new and the price was ridiculously cheap.

Been over a month since I last had a visit into the "big" town of Oslo and decided to do a bit of movie and music shopping in one of the few stores left on the street. A bit pricy but I found some releases that I have been on the lookout for, and yeah I know it might have been more cheap to buy them online, but when you are suddenly met up with an item you have been wanting for a while, it is hard not to be tempted to rush in. Hopefully I might have added a few new gems to my collection, as the last time I did something similar it was mostly to be a disappointing turnout as few of the films lived up to my expectations, but this time I really hope it might be the other way around.
Anyway, here are todays little impulse buys:
Goof Troop - Volume. 2 - DVD Got a hold of Volume 1, twice last year. Turned out Disney pissed on the fans by releasing a cheaply made but pricy Volume 1 which had only 3 episodes included, then back in 2013 or 14 finally a 27 disc release was out, titled Volume 1 as well, but it was the real deal and for a very nicel price also. Somehow, Disney keep on doing this, only putting out two volumes with 27 episodes on each release, but no sign of any volume 3. This is very annoying as I would have loved to be able of having a volume 3 of Darkwing Duck which got Volume 1 and 2 out in summer of 2006 and then a year later in summer of 2007, but since then, nothing. Terrible way of treating their classic and very beloved animated 80s and early 90s shows. And still no sign of their maybe finest one yet, The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, but I guess as of right now it is better with one or two volumes out on DVD than nothing.
Rock-A-Doodle (1991) - DVD I have not seen this Don Bluth animated films since the early 90s, or so I think. Saw it as a kid at the cinemas and had a great time doing so, and while I actually own a VHS copy, I do not think I ever watched it later on. Did not know it was even out on DVD until just of recently, but I had to pick it up the moment I saw the artwork.
The Marx Brothers - Silver Screen Collection - DVD Never seen any of their films but thought this might be a good place to start things up with. I do know that I have at least Duck Soup and Monkey Business on my Watchlist, so getting them along with three others for the price of one film, was a pretty solid deal.
Miracle Mile (1988) - Blu-ray and DVD combo This I am very pleased to find, even if it was todays most pricy item. A beautiful looking artwork and lots of interesting bonus material but most importantly a film I just found out about a few weeks ago and hopefully it will live up to my expectations as it looks like a winner. This is a 2017 release by Arrow and with what I have learned upon picking up a few of their recent remastered DVD versions of 80s movies, they rarely disappoint and this looks very promising.
Rush Hour - 3 Film Collection - DVD While Chris Tucker's "comedic" antics is hard to stomach, I have not seen the first film in almost 20 years, and the second one I only watched back in winter of 2002 and the third, I am not so sure about. Still, three films for the price of one, maybe it might do better this time.
Telefon (1977) - DVD A 2018 Warner Bros Archive Collection release, which looks pretty damn good judging only from the awesome original artwork or movie poster. This one I only caught parts of when aired on TCM back in 2013, but I remember liking very much what I saw and that it had a solid cast, interesting plot and seemed like one of the last good 70s Bronson flicks, and have been on the lookout for a copy of it for some time. As with most of the Archive Collection, this was also a bit too pricy, but what the hell, if you are a fan of Charles Bronson, then I guess I be needing of seeing the whole film and add it to my collection as well.
Elvis Costello and the Attracations - Armed Forces (1979) - CD Never heard any other song beside Oliver's Army from Elvis Costello, and felt I should be taking a closer look upon his music archive, and stood with his first three releases in my hands but better to start up with the album which contains that one song I know of, instead of going completely in without any knowledge. If it is any good, I might continue to pick up a few of his earlier stuff later on.
Big Star - Radio City (1974) - CD I bought their debut back in 2016, only heard it a few times. Some great songs but the album did not get on as good with me as a whole, but I felt I did not give it enough time then, maybe it might improve on a few listens more.

Ended up doing a bit of impulse and double or tripple dipping of todays movie purchases:
Asian Animated Cinema 9 Movie Box Set - DVD This used to be priced very high when it first came out, but somehow today I picked up a dirt cheap copy which I thought was pretty damn nice, even though I have seen two of them from before, I am looking forward to watching the rest. Cowboy Bebop: The Movie (2001), First Squad (2009), Memories (1995, Paprika (2006), Tekkonkinkreet (2006), Legend of the Millennium Dragon (2011), Tokyo Godfathers (2003), Steamboy (2004) and Metropolis (2001) are the films to be included in the collection.
The Toxic Avenger - The Director's Cut (1984) - DVD Not sure how many copies I've actually got of this incredible cult-classic by Troma Studios, but what I know is that it is surely worth having at least a few copies extra, just in case. This is a scandinavian 2007 release which includes all the gore and tits and ass shown in the uncut and complete in the director's cut. Also there is lots of neat bonus features added as well.
Manborg (2011) - DVD I think I have seen this one before, but not sure. Comes with a fantastic retro DVD artwork cover, and looks like a cool tribute to the sci-fi action and low budget post-apocalyptic italian titles of the 1980s.
The Boogey Man (1980) - DVD Another flick I might have seen but not really sure, anyway the 2010 scandinavian DVD release made it look like a promising title.
The Boy and the Beast (2015) - DVD Impulse buy, got it pretty darn cheap and it looks not too bad but when it comes to Asian animated films it usually a big hit or miss with me, sadly far too often as miss. Beautiful movies to look at but few likeable characters to cheer on, and far too many annoying and douchy ones to dislike.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991) - DVD Last year the original got its first DVD and Blu-ray release here in norway, and since I am not sure if my older DVD copy is the heavily edited british one, or not I decided to go with this 2017 release, as the first Turtles movie looked really good compared to my older copies. Nowhere near as good as the first one, but The Secret of the Ooze was a big childhood favorite of mine and I had a blast re-watching it back in the early 00s.
The Terminator (1984) - DVD As with the Toxic Avenger, this one I must own atleast 5-6 copies of, or more on VHS, DVD and Blu-ray, however I thought for such a nicely priced item, I just could not ignore it. This is actually the first scandinavian DVD version of the film, and it might even be one of the earliest as well, dated back to spring 2001.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) -DVD And once more, I own at least a dozen copies of this one as well, but a film well worthy to have more than one copy of if you're a fan.
The 6th Day (2000) - DVD Same as the both, well beside maybe being not as great a movie but still as an fan of the big guy, I have always enjoyed this sci-fi action thriller.
101 Dalmatians (1996) & 102 Dalmatians (2000) - DVD I saw the first one at the cinemas, liked it but then re-watched it later on and thought it was a bit of a letdown. Still, I ended up re-purchasing it, for a second time to see if it might be a little better and since it was such a cheaply priced DVD, I thought it might do. The second one however, I will probably never again re-watch as that I remember to be a very bad and unnecessary sequel.
22 Jump Street (2014) - Blu-ray Impulse buy. Never saw the 80s show, never seen the first movie and not much of a fan of the main leads, so I guess I will head in with absolutely not expecations at all, which might be the only way of doing it.
The Fox and the Hound 2 (2006) DVD I guess I should know what lies ahead for me with this one, as most of the Disney sequels to their classic animated films have been usually lying between pure garbage or barely mediocrity, it would be nice for once to be surprised in a positive way that is.
The Fast and the Furious (2001) - DVD Never seen the first film before and thought I might just give it a chance. Cannot be as a bad as some of the later ones, or so I like to think.

Yor The Hunter from the Future [bluray] Have you seen it before lostinlimbo and if so what did you think of it? I have been meaning to check that one out along with other 80s sword and sorcery, fantasy themed titles such as The Beastmaster, but not sure if it is worthy to go for the Blu-ray or if I should just stick with a cheaper DVD or VHS copy.

The Fast and the Furious (2001) - DVDNever seen the first film before and thought I might just give it a chance. Cannot be as a bad as some of the later ones, or so I like to think. To me, the series doesn't really get "watchable" until the 4th movie, gets temporarily great with the 5th and then stays in super stupid fun mode for the remaining flicks. If you didn't like the later films, I'll be curious to hear your take on the first when you finally sit down and watch it. I re-watched it a month or so ago for the first time since it was in theaters and I was just as bored then as I was when I first saw it. Also, if I can be nosy -- why the inclination to acquire so many copies of so many movies? Are you worried the ones you cherish will be damaged or are you hoping they become collectibles? Just curious.

I re-watched it a month or so ago for the first time since it was in theaters and I was just as bored then as I was when I first saw it. I am not really sure which ones I have seen, well beside part 7 that one I saw back in 2015 and while not terrible it left me with not much to remember. However, if the first one turns out to be a pleasant surprise, I might be tempted to check out more of the franchise, or at least of the earlier ones. Also a bit curious to see how much the first film resembles the late 80s action-thriller No Man's Land (1987) starring Charlie Sheen, which is supposed to be among the films which was to inspire the Fast and the Furious (2001). Also, if I can be nosy -- why the inclination to acquire so many copies of so many movies? Are you worried the ones you cherish will be damaged or are you hoping they become collectibles? Just curious. I guess I am bit of a "paranoid" movie collector fanatic, as I have experienced from before having a few of my favorite movies/TV-shows coming with in perfect shape, no scratches or damages and then out of nowwhere it just won't work/play on any of my DVD or Blu-ray players. Does not happen often, but when it does, it is usually very annoying and back in my mind I end up thinking: "Better have one bonus disc just in case, instead of none". And before you know it, I am suddenly the owner of 5-6 copies of the exact same film. Never really thought about if any of my films become collectibles, would probably never sell them either way, but yeah the damage anxiety is there, same with my most treasured CD albums, some I own 3-4 copies of and it might be stupid and all, but I guess that's the heavy "burden" of being a movie and music collector the last 18-20 years or so. Also, another "important" reason to why I often end up double or tripple dipping when re-buying the same film, is that I hate when studios put out my favorite titles and the DVD/Blu-ray artwork looks terrible and so cheap and trashy it must have been done on purpose or just to save money by not sticking with the usually far superior original artwork/movie poster. I cannot remember how many times I have picked up a DVD or Blu-ray in recent years (and yeah I know it is what's inside that counts and all) but I sure do hate it when great looking artwork is ruined by yet another generic and ugly as hell "updated" cover. Groundhog Dog, The Die Hard trilogy, The Terminator and the classic James Bond movies are just a few too many victims of this crime, and I have ended up replaced almost every one of those with their classic original artwork, well minus The Terminator. That one has to be one of the worst, as every DVD cover I have seen or found looks hideous compared to my original VHS copy.

Nah, it was a blind-purchase. Always been curious about this one. Looks kinda dopey from the trailer, and Reb Brown mugging every shot with a doleful expression. However I do enjoy these type of films. I mainly picked up the bluray for the Brown commentary track.
