Festive Satanic statue added to Illinois statehouseA satanic group has added its own statue to a series of displays in the government building of the US state of Illinois to mark the festive season.
Placed between a Christmas tree and a menorah, the four-foot sculpture depicts a snake coiled around an outstretched arm holding an apple.
It's the first display sponsored by the Chicago chapter of the Temple of Satan.
The state government said the temple had the same right as other religious groups to have a display.
"Under the Constitution, the First Amendment, people have a right to express their feelings, their thoughts," Dave Druker, spokesman for the Illinois secretary of state, told the State Journal-Register. "This recognises that."
The move has been criticised on social media by Illinois Family Action, an anti-abortion pressure group.

This news seems pleasing to you. Yet you whine about the 10 commandments being displayed on public property/schools. Yet you wonder why I call you an anti-christ?

That's kinda the point, things like these typically happen as a reaction against people whining about "religious freedom" and being able to plaster the 10 commandments on public property. When confronted with something like this, suddenly their cries of religious freedom go out the window and their hypocrisy becomes apparent. They have no one to blame but themselves.

Uh it's right there in the story the OP linked, some Christian organization called the Illinois Family Action was complaining about it. If it was a cross being displayed, somehow I doubt they would complain.

"Satanic Temple monument was added to the #Illinois Capitol rotunda displays. They fail to realize that the little baby in the manger has CRUSHED Satan's head and the gates of hell will NOT prevail."
That statement is merely taunting the Satanists, "My god can beat up your god".

This news seems pleasing to you. Yet you whine about the 10 commandments being displayed on public property/schools. No, I disagree with ANY religion's symbol being displayed on public tax payer property, and if a singular group wishes to force their religious symbol in, no other religion's symbol should be denied the same. It isn't really complicated concept, but I'm aware you'll refuse to understand... this post is merely for posterity's sake. Am I also 'anti-jew' and/or 'anti-muslim', 'anti-buddhist'?

@eddyhops
Then you have a funny way of showing it. You whine when it’s Christians and put up smileys indicating your approval when it’s satanists. You’re a bang to rights hypocrite with double standards.
Try to be consistent and people might actually take you seriously.
No idea. I’ve never seen you attack those faiths.

You’re a bang to rights hypocrite with double standards. Again, I was certain you'd pretend to misunderstand. That's for the opaque lenses you wear in the front of your blinders. Believing in the absurd and ridiculous claims in the Torah and Quran is pretty fucking stupid. Feel better now?

No, I understand perfectly. I’m just not buying your bullsh!t excuses. I think you’re full of it.
So now we can add bigotry to go with your hypocrisy.
Any more character flaws you’d like to expose about yourself?

When confronted with something like this, suddenly their cries of religious freedom go out the window and their hypocrisy becomes apparent. They have no one to blame but themselves. Oh!!!! Definitely hypocritical to protest public worship of Satan (Oh yeah!!! They're all atheists)!!!! Let me count the ways in which it is hypocrisy!!!! It is hypocritical in exactly the same way its hypocritical to want make a public bust or statue of Winston Churchill, but, not of Adolf Hitler. It is hypocritical in exactly the same way its hypocritical dedicate a month in honour of Terry Fox, but, not of Clifford Olson. It is hypocritical in exactly the same way its hypocritical to carve George Washington's face alongside a mountain, but, not Benedict Arnold's face. It is hypocritical for society to emphasize the Right to Freedom of Expression, but, publicly denounce what is considered to be Hate Speech!!! Yes!! Yes!! Yes!!! Hypocrisy indeed!!! - NOT!!!! ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Religious Freedom allows not only for Christians to publicly observe their faith in Christ, but, also for Buddhists, Hindus, Jews, Muslims, Native North Americans, etc., to publicly observe theirs too. Even Atheists benefit, as nobody is it means nobody is forcing them to attend Church, etc. It is not intended for those that hate what is acknowledged as Good, & love what acknowledged to be Evil, to come out & spit upon upon these basic principles.

Just shows you the state of society today as it becomes more corrupt lowtacks86But anything tied to satan is not a legitimate religion and opposes Christianity which the USA is largely based around for a long time now. Christianity is proven good and everyone knows satan is bad so naturally society should reject anything tied to satan by default. basically... people are trying to exploit "religious freedom" to promote bad.

But anything tied to satan is not a legitimate religion and opposes Christianity which the USA is largely based around for a long time now. A. You don't get to decide what is and is not a legitimate religion. That is literally unconstitutional.
B. The USA is in no sense based on Christianity. This was literally put in writing by the early congress, you ignorant fool.

As a nonbeliever, obviously I don't believe there's is such thing as "legitimate religion" so that's a moot argument. You might as well be telling me about legit magic spells.
BTW as a conservative you may wanna consider getting into Laveyan Satanism as it actually fits much better into Republican principles than Christianity (Jesus was arguably a socialist, Laveyans are basically libertarians)

You either allow religious advertising on government property or you don't.
If you think it's okay to do so, then any and every religion should have an equal opportunity to display their adverts. So the christians bleating about this should shut the hell up.
If you don't, then you should be against displaying christian adverts as much as satanic ones.
To support the right of christians to show their ads and be against the satanists doing the same is simple hypocrisy.
Me, I don't think any religious ads should be allowed on government property. There's plenty of private property for that already.
I do like the message of this one though. It praises knowledge, which I am in favour of.
