That's the end of that then. Warner gone for 12. Broad again. Caught behind again. Now Smith has a chance to break Bradman's record leading Oz to a successful chase. Or more liky making 70 or 80 odd in a 150+ run defeat.

Warner out to Broad - shock - stop press!
The average opening partnership for both teams is 12.55 and that is the lowest in a five-Test series ever.

If Australia wins this, and Smith does the business, cricket must stop - we’ve seen it all. It’s done.

For hosko and Bob >
Michael Vaughan
Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special
If Marsh wants to progress, he'll have to produce a sweep shot or two. Opposition teams know he hasn't got one so can leave those gaps open in the field.
That would've been the perfect delivery, if he had a sweep in his armoury, to whack it into the open spaces in the field.

He just looks like a big heavy stupid version of Hayden or Watson. All lumbering front foot and heavy cuts and pulls. No finesse, no thinking. See ball, hit ball. I’m all for clarity of mind, simplistic game etc, but Marsh goes a little too far. The problem is that he lives in an environment where that is the best way to play. Shit, dead straight bowlers bowling on good decks. That’s most games in Australian first class cricket. Good eye, big heavy bat and big heavy arms - you’ll score runs.

Anyway, Australia 200/6 - Paine just out. They got halfway there I guess.....

England win 5th test by 135 runs.
Tied series.
Seems about fair.
Australia retains Ashes.
