The worst thing about games being played early in the morning is it leaves way too much time to drink and celebrate. Very fragile this morning, not sure I'll make it all the way through the Wales game.
Ben Spencer flying out as an injury replacement for Heinz. Good choice, Spencer should have been there instead of Heinz. Big game experience, helped Sarries to Premiership and Champions cup final victories last season. Very good at sniping a try. What a story that could be in the final.

Wales haven't turned up for the tournament, they should be very disappointed with how they've performed. They're better than what they've shown at any stage. South Africa will be a huge test for England but beatable. Just got to hope a few of the injuries England have are only minor.

To be fair - it’s a good England side but a pretty ordinary Wallabies side. Actually, lets get it right in terminology, this is a "very good" England side, drilled by a very shrewd Oz coach. Shouldn't be enough to halt the AB Machine, but if AB are not at their best and England are at theirs, then it's a different story. I don't think you give this England side the credit they deserve. There's quite a few that are among the best in the world in their position, others that are relatively young and are showing what they do every week in club rugby they can do on the international stage. Arguably the failures in six Nations and other test matches have been down to chemistry between the players and coaching. Eddie Jones had a habit of over training and injuring people. Extended time together has made the difference.

I think you're being pretty harsh on Wales. Getting to the semi finals and running a superior Springboks team close is an excellent performance. Their one loss for the tourney was by 3 points in a semi to a better side. How you get from that they "didn't turn up" for the entire tournament I have no idea.

Where were the big performances from the Welsh? The Springboks are an excellent side but they didn't play particularly well against Wales, and in the end didn't need to. Wales were lucky to get passed France, and nearly threw away the game against Australia. Based in how they were built up in the lead up to the World Cup, I think it's fair to say they didn't show up.

The defence that it's about 'respecting their culture' is such shit considering it's been hijacked and commercialised by World rugby to sell merchandise and get people watching games. It's been choreographed specifically for that purpose.

Must just be a UK thing because I didn't hear anyone talking up Wales in the build up. I didn't hear anyone saying they were a team who could match it with the big two from the South. A team who never gets past the quarters got to the semis, and nearly knocked out the team who could well win it. And that narrow loss to a team who nay well be the World Champions this time next week was their only loss for the tournament. Again,I'm not seeing anything for Welsh fans go be upset or disappointed about.

Again,I'm not seeing anything for Welsh fans go be upset or disappointed about. Before the warm up games, Wales hadn't lost a match since February 2018. This included a six Nations grand slam and wins against Australia and two versus South Africa. And no matter how flawed the ranking system is, they were ranked number one in the world not long before the tournament. This is the best Wales side there's ever been. They didn't ever play like it. But as you say, maybe it's a UK thing - seeing them bring built up but also regularly seeing what they're capable of. I have lots of Welsh family - they're proud of the team. But they also know it's a missed opportunity, and they didn't show half of what they're capable of.

Great win by England. Glad to have SA in the final, despite the England/Wales match up would have been awesome - I would have been more scared of playing them, Wales v England is allways Wales *3.

I thought it was outstanding what England did, laid down the marker for what was to follow in the match. Of course if they had got mullered then they all look like twazzers, but it showed just how tuned in they was for the match. Well worth the fine, Owen smirk and all!

Was just thinking about this having read about the England fine. It is a bit embarrassing really - definitely a positive marketing selling point for Rugby Union but yeah they should get rid of it in terms of it having nothing to do with sport. Imagine if the England football team insisted on lining up and doing a choreographed Morris dance, which the opposition were forced to stand and watch, before each match started.

Very hard to see past The All Blacks. England have come from nowhere in the last few months to become a strong fancy, so at 9/2 that each way punt is tempting but I don't see it myself, but then again I'm no massive Rugger fan and only watch the big tournament games. Friends who do follow it though are very bullish about Saffers chances, so under advisement I'm backing them each way to get to the final at least. Well from a financial perspective it's a win for me, I have already made money on Saffers getting to the final, if they win it then I'm quids in - though will be buying a few rounds for my Rugger Bugger mates! I'll gladly forgo financial gain for an England win though, would cap a superb year for British sport if they win it after the cricket and Hamilton on Sunday.

South Africa well on top, but only leading 12-6 at the break. England getting smashed in scrums and making lots of errors. Have had very little territory.

Huge 40 minutes now, have to cut out the sloppy passing.
