Maybe it was your device, or its settings. You see, there are things called controls, and with them, you can change all kinds of things like volume, balance, treble, and bass. I was never big Nirvana fan, by the way, but I can appreciate the influence. Nope, I tried them (thanks for enlightening me, btw). It was the Beatles. And they sounded "disintegrated", that is the word that describes them well. Beatles then go on and disintegrate your brain with their awful playing. I can't stand it. Well, nobody said they were for everyone. My grandma doesn't like them, either.

"Apparently"? Why assume? Isn't it possible that those "other posters" have simply been banned? I would jump at the chance to clear things up quickly, wherever the opportunity affords itself. He may as well have said, "This might be better discussed in public as you have apparently done with other posters." That rings just as true. I just don't want Bat to turn into an insult troll. It's easy to get sucked into the shit, but if you forget your snorkel, you will soon find yourself becoming the shit. I am really, really, really burnt out on the piling on that originates on the Politics board. Posters who spend time on the Politics board need to hit Reset, and start holding themselves to a standard of decency when it comes to heeeey and SciFive and anyone else they see themselves going after outside of retorts in a politics disagreement. I do not understand how people can fail to lose even part of their humanity like that and still see themselves as the good guys. I am over it, and beyond. You may need to give me a timeout.

She must have been another professional yawner. Nah, she's deaf. Really. Yawn. Beethoven's deafness was, as much as it was a burden for him, a gift to mankind. That's when he really started composing. His deafness was very advanced when he composed his third symphony, the Eroica, which revolutionized music. Before Eroica, opera was considered to be the biggest and most sophisticated music. Beethoven made instrumental music equal. And McCartney and Beatles bore me. And annoy me.

It's the same old pilings over and over again, and there is no shortage of blatant hypocrisy on all sides. Every day, we get at least a few members reporting someone for being mean either immediately before or immediately after they respond to the post they're reporting with an equal amount of hostility. It's like people don't realize that two wrongs might just be two bans. So most times, I just ignore them...for everyone's benefit. And even then, I get bitched at for not taking action. lol

And you told me on the first page what songs I had written, as if that's a requirement to have an opinion on someone. I told you what songs you had written ? Whoa Nelly ! In actuality : I asked you what songs you had written. You added the "as if" in your read between the lines way. It's on the first page. Don't try to weasel out of it. The implication was clear.

I don't know how to put it, but there is always this tin quality to their playing. It's also the guitars. You have six strings that you play on and they have to harmonize. And they did not. There was always an off, tin sound. It drove me crazy. I always thought I was imagining it or didn't have the ear to appreciate it (my mother is a musical genius and she liked that stuff). Maybe I wasn't wrong after all. Not to mention the crap that you get for criticizing them. JFC, they bore me. I know what you're referring to. I heard the same thing mostly with their earlier songs. It was like a shallow, cheap sound or something.

Are you a better musician than Jones? Is that what you are saying? No. Well, that's okay. You don't have to be an award-winning composer to criticize him, just like we don't have to have written hit songs to criticize McCartney or dislike him.

Yeah, taken in single doses, these don’t seem that out there. The notion she was a bass player wasn’t exactly over the top. But if you look at her posting history, she’s a lot like Molar/Maya on RFS: qualifications and experiences always seem to sprout AFTER encountering a challenge. I think Maya had given herself seven different degrees at one point because she couldn’t remember which lies she already told. Smelled funny and I thought I’d check and, yep: one of those. Now she’s trying “Well, I USED to be a bass player...” when the conversation in which she insisted she was a bass player is less than 24 months old. She can’t stop lying. And your only retarded deduction for that is that I don't think Paul McCartney is a genius bass player.
My favorite bass player is John Paul Jones. I think he plays better than McCartney. The fact that you think someone has to like a certain bass player to be qualified in your simple mind as a 'real' bass player is beyond stupid.
One more thing, idiot -- if you hadn't played a certain instrument in years, would you still say you're a -insert instrument here- player? If I haven't played an instrument in years, like the bass, I'm not going to call myself a 'bass player'. I said I have played the bass before, but I'm not a professional bass player.
I'm done with you and your stupidity, Sherlock.
You mean John Paul Jones who worked with Paul McCartney in the 1970s, the 1980s ... all the way up (maybe the 1960s too)? Oh yeh, he knows where it's at. Love seeing those guys together.

Perhaps you and the bass player in this thread can get together and start writing some music that would show Paul McCartney and his millions of fans just exactly what quality music sounds like. Who knows, maybe 50 years from now, your collaborative efforts will still be selling out arenas worldwide. And maybe, somebody on a random internet chat board will start a thread discussing how bland your music really is. If you dream it, you can do it! WTF makes you, battouttaheck, Yojimbo, et al, think someone has to be a musical legend to criticize someone who's famous? I never said or suggested that, but nice try with the lying!

I think this video should be a mandatory watch for anyone participating in this thread.
It's very enjoyable, and free to see on youtube which is even better. Howard Goodall composed some music for comedies, including 'Blackadder' and 'Red Dwarf'.

I can't believe I am applauding to Heeeyyy's post. It's nice of you to encourage Heeey but … Two of her three statements were erroneous misinterpretations of what was actually posted by me. Possibly the third one was also BS … dunno … I didn't write about playing or writing. She flat out lied by claiming I ever said that, so I really wish jillresurrected would consider the source, even if she agrees with the sentiment.

QUINCY JONES
& PAUL MCCARTNEY
Seeing as it keeps getting mentioned by the OP, here's links to Quincy Jones' funny rant that caught the attention of the Trump dynasty, and Paul McCartney being asked about it ... you can easily look them up yourself to read online. These dudes go back years.
"The songs Paul chose for Kisses on the Bottom are songs I've heard and loved since I was a kid. I sat with Paul backstage at the first concert of his recent tour and had the privilege of listening to the entire record. These are some of the best songs ever written, and it takes a very special talent to bring them to light. Paul didn't bring 1/8th notes with him to these songs; he knows how to swing like the old school or Sinatra used to say, "he's in the pocket." There is simply no artist today who has the credibility, grace, and depth of character that Paul has. Our 49-year-relationship goes back to before The Beatles came to America and I love that Paul has taken the time to do this album. I've heard a lot of records covering these songs, but none of them have the authenticity that Paul's has."

There was always an off, tin sound. It drove me crazy. Could be you just don't like the sound of old Rickenbacker/Strats and Fender/Vox amps. They used to be very bright and thin sounding back then, which can sound tinny. I'm not a big fan of that sound myself and generally don't care for the sound of electric guitars and amps before Hendrix.

He never said he didn't like PM, just that he was the worst bass player he ever heard.
