He evoked a nice sense of nostalgia and the emotion was palpable.

Here we go, hoping for a Klaus upset.
Edit: Toy Story 4 wins. Not a Klaus upset, but I liked Toy Story 4 as well so I don't have anything against it winning. Edit2: And as expected Hair Love gets Animated Short.

Klaus not winning was actually a little disappointing for me. But not a super surprise either. I don't think no one is ever surprised that the win will go to Toy Story 4. But I'm glad that Hair Love won for short.

I'm disappointed that Klaus didn't win. Academy voters don't take animated films that seriously and tend to vote for the typical Disney or Pixar film. I'm glad to see Hair Love won.
It was funny that Josh Gad took a jab at John Travolta's "Adele Dazeem" mishap.

It was funny that Josh Gad took a jab at John Travolta's "Adele Dazeem" mishap. The British public voted 'Toy Story 4' as their favourite film of the decade in a major new year poll (the accompanying programme was screened on Channel 4). People go crazy for those Disney & Pixar products.

Diane Keaton is awesome. Great to see her paired with Keanu Reeves.

Sharon Choi has been so great as a translator during this season. It's a 'small' job, but every job deserves praise when it's done so well.

And finally, I would say that, you know, we are a little bit out of touch in Hollywood every once in a while, I think. It's probably a good thing. We're the ones who talked about AIDS when it was just being whispered, and we talked about civil rights when it wasn't really popular. And we, you know, we bring up subjects, we are the ones—this Academy, this group of people gave Hattie McDaniel an Oscar in 1939 when blacks were still sitting in the backs of theaters. I'm proud to be a part of this Academy, proud to be part of this community, and proud to be out of touch. And I thank you so much for this.
