Kevin Feige, President and Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Studios, is reportedly focused on developing the bigger picture of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, rather than its day-to-day operations.
In an interview with the VFX Notes podcast, Eternals VFX Production Supervisor Stephane Ceretti explained that, as the MCU expands, Feige can no longer be as involved with each individual project as he once was, particularly with visual effects. Now, much of the hands-on work for visual effects is overseen by Victoria Alonso, President of Physical, Post Production, VFX and Animation at Marvel Studios, with Feige focusing on the larger story of the MCU. "It's a lot of people now, but how it is, it's fun and crazy at the same time, it's super exciting because we are really part of the process, like really, really part of the process," Ceretti said. "It's a bit different now because the studio is bigger, and maybe we have a little bit less access to the people we used to have access to all the time. [Alonso] is always there, so she's always in the meetings, all the readings we're doing. [Feige], a little bit less so now because he's so busy with story and everything, but he used to come to every VFX reading with us, which was great, like really great." www.cbr.com/report-marvel-studios-head-heavily-focused-mcu-bigger-picture/

Finally got to see this. It's a bit more of a mixed bag for me than I expected.
I liked the following Eternals Kingo, Sprite, and Druig better than the main ones like Sersi and Ikaris. Weirder thing is Angelina Jolie being in this movie and completely forgettable. Jon Snow got the shaft big time. Stuff with the Celestials and their backstory is good enough. Chloe Zhao does have an eye for visuals and action scenes at least.
6/10. Not bad but perhaps my least favorite MCU movie since Thor: the Dark World.

Dang, what the hell is wrong with these studios. On one hand you have WB scrapping a nearly complete $90 million movie and on the other hand you have Disney eagerly greenlighting a sequel to their biggest cinematic failure and giving it to the exact same director.

They’ll have to throw some other MCU characters in there as the selling point. Plus they’ll market it as being critical to the MCU story arc.

I hope this is true. They need to resolve the cliffhanger. And the first movie wasn’t even the worst of Phase Four. It’s better than Black Widow and Thor.

I mean, I peronally think it's better than Black Widow and Thor L&T, but the greater majority of audiences AND critics rate it as the lowest MCU movie and by quite a margin. I would have thought that the MCU would be hesitant in giving it a sequel with all the other properties they've got going. At the very least give it to a different director. Hey there's a thought. Maybe Chloe and Taika should swap movie sequels.

Why are we assuming this is true? Patton Oswalt said so?

Why are we assuming this is true? Patton Oswalt said so? ...yes? It's possible he's caught wind of a few things, but I doubt anything is set in stone at this time. "Seemingly Confirmed" is quite the leap made by that article.

They’ll probably stick the poor bastards in streeeaming hell- probably as a cameo in someone else’s series. Personally I’d be down for a theatrical sequel. I enjoyed the first one more than Black Widow, Shang Chi and Thor 4.

I’m betting whatever Guardians are left after Vol 3 will end up in this sequel. It’d be a great way to win back all the fans who didn’t love the first one. Otherwise a sequel could easily bomb.
Marvel will probably also rebrand the franchise, Thor-style, and make it a comedy. That’s usually their answer to everything.

Aw I hope the negative response didn't scare her off on anymore comic book properties.
