What do you want Kraft to do now? And what do you expect him to do now? a. I want him to get rid of these Sunday School color rush jerseys. b. Hire Vrabel to keep some semblance of Patriot way, although easing off the militaristic Belichick ways of late. I don't see the Krafts going full analytics hiring mode, now, maybe never. I think giving an OC & DC more strategic control also will hopefully add modern dimensions to each side. Judon & Gonzalez are back in 2024, Jayden Daniels QB... it's a pretty good foundation. Peppers is still under contract, though Dugger might be gone. The defense is still going to be pretty good, but the offense needs a complete overhaul, from the ground (O-Line) up. It'll be a few years, but new blood at the QB and receiver positions should at least provide some electrifying plays here and there. Anything would be better than this season.

Belichick out in New England per Schefter.
So if Philly loses this week to Tampa do they get rid of Sirianni after collapsing from a 10-1 start? Doubtful but if they feel he lost the locker room and Belichik is out there it would be an interesting move. I think Sirianni comes back regardless of what the Eagles do against Tampa, unless it's like a 45-3 blowout loss or something. But they better fucking fire both coordinators. Brian Johnson, the OC, already has 2 or 3 head coaching interviews scheduled, and I sure hope he gets one of them. Matt Patricia, the DC, and Sean Desai, the demoted DC who still does something, should just be taken out back and shot. And that's even if the Eagles somehow go on to win the Super Bowl. My prediction, assuming Hurts can play with his injured finger, is that they beat Tampa and get destroyed by whoever they end up playing in the 2nd round, most likely Dallas or San Francisco.

In the space of a week, coaches with 876 career wins and 16 titles are gone McDermott, McVay, and Shanahan now are tied with the 4th longest tenure with one team. So McVay has the fourth most seniority with one team . . . and still is the youngest coach in the NFL.

That was fast; Patriots officially hire Jerod Mayo as their new HC.

What do you want Kraft to do now? And what do you expect him to do now? Kraft won't do anything particularly interesting; he'll probably hire Vrabel or promote Mayo. Both of which would be more of the same, stylistically. But what do I care? Called it lol.

This is just confirming what was suspected going back to last year. Can't say it gets me excited, but I don't have anything negative to say about him. It'll be interesting to see how much of the coaching staff is retained.
It's unfortunate that he's inheriting a bad team that probably won't win much for a couple years, but maybe he can get things turned around sooner than expected.

I would've gone with an offensive minded head coach to pair with a young QB, but I'm willing to give whoever comes in a shot; I just hope they don't ruin the QB the way Belichick did with Mac. The best news is that we didn't hire Harbaugh.

The same question could be asked if Dallas shits the bed vs GB. I could see Jerry firing McCarthy and hiring Belichick, especially if Quinn goes to Seattle. Then I'm sure he'd bring his boy McDaniels with him as OC. Where he winds up will be very interesting.

Mayo, 37yrs old, now youngest HC in the NFL. That surprised me, I assumed he was older &/or other younger HC out there. I suppose it feels that way for me since he'd been a Patriot 2008-15 it feels longer. I'd hope, & expect, the team to let him be himself. I'd be certain that Kraft, if not Belichick in leaving also, highly suggested as much to him... besides, he'd been all but official successor in waiting, I'm sure topics such as this arose over the past while.
Anyways, I doubt McDaniels is on the menu, unless he's only brought in as QB coach for a rookie. I think his NFL days are over, he should try NCAA.
This is a day I'd been longing for 2-3yrs now... youthful coach, turn the page...
To me... this action is the juice. Wins will come, more losses likely, & roster evolution... I'd been riding a dynasty for 20yrs, I can handle fascinating struggles again with a purpose again.

The best news is that we didn't hire Harbaugh. It's win-win because rarely does a new GM not wish to choose his HC... thus giving the new GM to come a baked in 2nd chance. Mayo has to know this, & yet when a safe choice is all but homegrown & only 37yrs old, for a reloading team... I'm good with it. Now the GM needle starts to move, if Kraft doesn't already have one in mind.

He is probably getting these interviews by accident thinking he is Ben Johnson from Detroit instead. Just like how Jerry Van Dyke got hired thinking he was Dick.

Very strong winds could cause extensive tree damage. The more persistent lake effect bands are usually to the south of Orchard Park. Our forecast is 3-9 inches, done by Sunday morning. The wind is worrisome. It will not be beneficial to Josh Allen. He didn't do well in the windstorm against New England last year or the playoffs against Cincy.
