^ Why are people acting like it's a crime to be attractive?

The lady doth protest too much, methinks
It's odd that you've devoted some much time and energy with these angry tirades and personal attacks when you admitted early on that we are in agreement ... in principle.
That was you, wasn't it?
The only difference is where we draw the line. I draw the line at mini skirts in trench warfare. Presumably there's a point where even you must think an outfit is ridiculous.
All the other things you've denounced have been made up by you. You've been tilting a windmills, sweetheart.

Because apparently you can't be beautiful and badass at the same time? In fact, being attractive and flaunting it is now apparently considered a downright sin. Because apparently, appreciating a woman for her body (something that is part of her) is considered more shallow than appreciating a man for his status (something that is not part of him).

No. You can. But be prepared to be ridiculed if you claim outfits like this "empower" women.

No ... pretty much the same thing. They were definitely going for the male beef-cake thing in that movie.
Now, don't get me wrong. I dig scantly clad butt kicking women as much as the next guy. The more skin, the better!
Just don't try to peddle the notion that it "empowers" women to dress them up in baby doll sex kitten outfits.

Using a fictional movie character to "empower women" is kinda weird anyway, at least for me. Then again I'm not a woman so what do I know. I know I don't use fictional male characters to feed my confidence. All I'm saying is that "empowering women" shouldn't be equivalent to "turning them into men". That it should be possible to empower women without removing their femininity and making them sacrifice physical attractiveness.

^ Why are people acting like it's a crime to be attractive? Yeah. It is ridiculous. As a woman I like to dress sexy and I personally don’t care what other people think of the way I dress when I go out. If my Wifey and I want to walk down the streets in bikinis after we have been to the beach we will and if that makes some people feel insecure about their bodies ‘cause they aren’t fit and in shape like us then maybe they should get off their butts and walk more often too. I am not into fat shaming ‘cause I think it is shallow and doesn’t help anybody but the new wave of shaming for being healthy and looking sexy is absolutely pathetic and is jealousy at its best. Promoting obese women as 'normal' women is not good and is just going to lead to more people being overweight. Did you know there were actually people campaigning for Melissa McCarthy to play Wonder Woman? That would have been ridiculous but according to some insecure blogger Melissa is a 'real' woman. Wonder Woman and all female and male superheroes are supposed to be healthy and in shape. If some people have a problem with that then they should go and watch another movie and no offence to your genre ('cause I know James does't represent all) but it speaks volumes when this comment is coming from a male much like one of the members on this thread. As Patty said, he is not a woman so he doesn’t understand and what gives him the right to tell us how we should dress to be taken seriously?
Yes. We can be bad ass and sexy at the same time. With comic book characters Red Sonja is a good example of that and some male characters mocked Red Sonja for the way she dressed but look what happened to them after they did. They damn sure took her seriously when they were being cleaned off the floor and that is why Red Sonja has one of the largest female fan bases of any female comic book character and why many of the great female comic book writers love to write stories about her. Not surprisingly what some people have forgotten is superheroes like Supergirl and Razor (who is already dead) are invincible and impervious to pain so they can dress whatever way they want. He means be prepared to be slut shamed by the sex negative prude squad who shame us for being sexually empowered and confident with our bodies ‘cause they are either a) insecure with their own bodies and want to put us down to make them feel good about themselves or b) know they aren’t in our league and hate seeing what they can’t have or c) we are lesbians and they know they have zero chances with us and that really shits them big time. Slut shaming culture at its finest. Insecure men are threatened by strong sexually empowered women and always have been and they want to control us and tell us how they think we should dress and look to be deemed worthy of being taken seriously by them.

This entire idiotic thread is an insult to anyone with more than two brain cells. I think I lost two brain cells reading this thread of pointlesness.
