If you dare to sit in - Thomas Busby's Stoop Chair Of Death - even for just a "second", you will die VERY SOON after.
I wouldn't risk sitting in the chair either.

What was the origin of Kaspar Hauser Interesting case but way too many possibilities and not enough certainties to get a definitive answer. More DNA tests would probably help.

Nalkarj , I don't remember if this one was mentioned somewhere before... But it is too good, so, I need to mention it, again, even if it is a repeat. Coincidence? Possibly... But, I think one would have better odds of buying a lottery ticket for the big jackpot tomorrow night & winning it all... Now, I am not a religious person and I am not really a believer in God... But, this case?... is one that even makes me have to wonder if there was at least one Guarding Angel visiting the group that night!

Does anyone here know anything about German schlosses, by any chance?
Odd question, I know, but I read a book of unsolved mysteries, and in it was the story of Lauenstein Castle in Bavaria, which involved a Katharina von Olamünde, who was—if I'm remembering correctly—a serial murderess. Unfortunately, I can't remember anything more about the case and, though I'm able to find Lauenstein Castle easily enough, I can't find Katharina.
I'll try to see if the library still has the book.

But, this case?... is one that even makes me have to wonder if there was at least one Guarding Angel visiting the group that night! The reasons listed (from the link posted): ". Marilyn Ruth Klempl, the pastor's daughter, spilled food on her dress and her mother needed to iron a new one.
.Herbert Kipf, a bassist for the choir, was trying to get a letter in the mail on time. He planned to be a few minutes late, deciding that he could drop the letter off on the way to practice.
.Lucille Jones was too busy listening to a radio program and was late along with Dorothy Wood, whom she was supposed to pick up.
.Royena Estes and her sister, Sadie, were late because their car wouldn't start.
.Joyce Black, who lived across the street from the church, was ready but too tired to get up.
.LaDonna Vandergrift was having trouble with a geometry problem.
.Mrs. Leonard Schuster would've ordinarily arrived at 7:20 with her daughter, Susan. But on this particular evening, she had to go to her mother's house to help her get ready for a missionary meeting.
.Because his wife was away, Harvey Ahl was taking care of his two sons. He was going to take them to practice with him but somehow he got wound up talking. When he looked at his watch, he saw that he was already late.
.Marilyn Paul, the pianist, had planned to arrive half an hour early. However, she fell asleep after dinner, and when her mother awakened her at 7:15, she only had time to tidy up and start out.
.Martha Paul, the choir director and mother of Marilyn, was simply late because her daughter was. She had tried unsuccessfully to awaken her earlier. " Some are less plausible than others, especially if you're always on time but in any case it's good that nobody was injured.

Rudolph Fentz was strange as well. Yeah, I referenced that one here. Unfortunately, it was debunked, though.

hi224 Well, I'm as surprised as ever, but there's apparently evidence for this one: The Seattle Times has an archived article about it for May 4, 1991. A few preliminary thoughts: The fact that he had a friend who was a psychic may indicate that he had an interest in this stuff, even though that friend says Case "...did not believe in witchcraft." No problem there; I don't believe in it either, and I'm fascinated by it all the same. Unless we presume that he'd gone insane, why was he found clothed in a waterless bathtub? That alone, leaving aside the crucifixes, candles, and salts, strikes me as very strange. The ME said the cause of death of acute myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart that often results from a viral infection. I've no reason to disagree with that finding, of course, but I shall note that another cause of acute myocarditis is a poison or toxin. It is entirely possible that Case was drugged. In fact, if he had ingested some kind of hallucinogenic toxin, it would explain some of the more unusual points of the case, including all the weird stuff around his apartment and his being found clothed in the bathtub. It would also explain how he could die of heart failure despite having no history of heart disease and never having smoked, drunk, or used drugs. The article doesn't specify how long the ME determined he'd been dead, but it seems strange that all the candles were completely burned down. Is it possible he didn't set any of the eerie stuff up himself, but rather that the murderer did to make it even more apparently supernatural? Here's a video from an Australian version of Unsolved Mysteries, The Extraordinary:

hi224 I'm very surprised too. I was ready to write this off as an urban legend as well. Sadly, his "psychic friend," Sammye Souder of Raleigh, N.C., who was featured in The Extraordinary's video, passed away in 2014, so there's no way to contact her. There's a lot more detail in that video; it's a great source, and fairly reliable (I think), as it features interviews with the actual friends, police-officers, and reporters.

hi224 Found another article about the Case case (yeah, yeah...), also from The Seattle Times. EDIT: In that last article, it reads: The fact that the door had been unlocked the last time strongly seems to indicate that someone left via the door after Case was dead, I feel. After all, he had been trying to "protect himself" by barricading himself in his apartment previously--but, the one time that he's found, the door is unlocked. Very strange.

We should write a novel lol on unexplained disappearances.

Kenny Veach is another weird situation, because even if he is nuts, why the abrupt death as well?.
