And all 3 were team-ups of B-list and C-list superheroes. Like I said, JL will be historic and unprecedented because it'll be the 1st superhero movie that teams up several A+ and A-list superheroes all on the same team in the same movie for the 1st time ever. Well then, all you're doing is skyrocketing the expectations for Justice League. Historic huh? Well, it's going to be a historic failure if it doesn't match or outgrosses (which I don't think it will) The Avengers. So true.

And even if the Justice League are the first superteam to feature A-list superheroes, The Avengers came first. They're the first team up movie, and that's why it was such a big deal in 2012. Nothing like The Avengers has ever been done.

Why is it still the highest grossing superhero movie?

All you're doing is just making excuses for Justice League to make yourself feel better about it when it flops critically. But there's absolutely nothing original or historical about Justice League. Just another generic-ass team up. The Avengers is one of the first to do it from characters from their own films

Why has the MCU irrefutably peaked when the "point" of blockbuster filmmaking is to be more profitable with each successive major release? Guys, I'm worried about the MCU's box office numbers again, now that this fine fanboy has dragged the grim, meathook realities of the MCU's high-water mark back into the harsh and unforgiving light of day. What if Justice League is the final blow that finishes it off for good? What if we never get Thanos before they reboot it?!

What if Justice League is the final blow that finishes it off for good? What if we never get Thanos before they reboot it?! Well, ever since The Avengers, the MCU has had 3 more films that have reached $1 billion, but The Avengers was a one of a kind film, a true event. Iron Man 3 was a direct sequel to The Avengers, so that's why it made $1 billion, and the reason Age of Ultron didn't make as much as the first Avengers was because the magic of the first film wore off, and it wasn't as good as the first film, but it was still a huge hit. Civil War made a $1 billion the following year, so I'm not sured the MCU has peaked when audiences still flock to the theaters to see these movies. Infinity War has the Avengers teaming up with the Guardians of the Galaxy, so it brings something new to the Avengers formula, and it'll make $1 billion, so they won't be rebooting the MCU anytime soon.

1) $350 million domestically 2) $890 million worldwide 3) 55% to 70% on Rotten Tomatoes Face it, the Avengers got there first. I can see the biggest complaint being that it's Avengers-lite. No, Avengers hasn't gotten anywhere first. Avengers is just another superhero team-up movie, no different than X-Men and Fantastic Four. Justice League will be historic and unprecedented because it'll be the 1st team-up of A+ and A-list superheroes. That's never been done before in CBM history and is historic and unprecedented. But no other superhero team up film was the biggest grossing film of its release year. The Avengers was the biggest grossing film of 2012.

If it's actually decent, I'll bet it might beat Wonder Woman.
That's the thing about the DC characters...they can be massive commercial successes even when the movie is universally hated.
Imagine what they can do with a GOOD movie.

JL is historic and unprecedented because JL will be the 1st CBM ever that teams up several A+ and A-list superheroes on 1 team in 1 movie for the 1st time. There has never been a CBM (either by DC or MCU or Fox or Sony or any other studio) that has teamed up several A+ and A-list superheroes on 1 team in 1 movie for the 1st time.
X-Men - nope Fantastic Four - nope Avengers - nope Power Rangers - nope
None. Until JL.
1 dumb MCU fan above called that hyperbole, but it isn't hyperbole any more than saying "The Dream Team was historic and unprecedented because there had never been a team like the Dream Team". To say that JL is just another team-up movie is as dumb as saying the Dream Team was just another All-Star team.
There are All-Star teams and then there's the Dream Team. Jordan, Magic, Bird, and several other legendary greats, the best of the best, all on the same team. Had never been done before and has never been done since.
And the JL is the Dream Team of superhero teams. Avengers, Defenders, Fantastic Four, Freedom Fighters, Justice Society, Legion of Super-Heroes, Power Rangers, Teen Titans, X-Men. None of them are as legendary as the JL.
JL will truly be historic and unprecedented because it'll the be 1st CBM to have the Dream Team of superhero teams, the best of the best, all on the same team in the same movie for the 1st time.
Oh man, is the Justice League still historic? Because the reviews say otherwise.

You wouldn't say the Beatles were anything but the band they were in the 60s. They were seen as a single entity as are FF & X-Men. There can be individual adventures, but they are a single team in each instance. The Avengers is a group that changes membership regularly
