Will it?
Thor's going to have close to $120mil this weekend. What's JL going to get? $125? $130? Is that showing Ragnarok the door? I'm asking seriously, because I would think on it's face, Thor and JL being that close to equal, might be kind of concerning for DC.

We'll see, but so far all they have to show for their "efforts" is WW...and her success was due to artificial boosters and people not wanting to be see as misogynists.

If Captain Marvel gets the praise and success as Wonder Woman, would you say the same thing? Would you make a similar claim for Black Panther?

After all, Blade and Steel were black leads in CBMs before.

I mean if a highly disproportionate number of women show up to WW or Capt Marvel than do for any other comic book film, then you have to factor that in. And the same thing with Black Panther if a significantly larger number of aftrican americans turn out.
To be clear, if you look at WW's domestic vs international box office, she's the only one with a higher domestic total. The reason for this is because the woman factor plays stronger in America than it does elsewhere. So yes, it's an 800 million movie, and that's fine, but in terms of how it was received as a just a comic movie, without the social factor drawing in additional women, it's really more of a 700 film. And that's also fine.

Wow, $5 billion domestically, $13 billion worldwide. The MCU continues to dominate.

I don't care about money too. As long the movies have a lot of action, then it will be fine.

After all, Blade and Steel were black leads in CBMs before. And Supergirl, Catwoman, and Elektra were female leads in CBMs before. So this completely destroys your "anti-misogynist" arguments about Wonder Woman having "artificial boosters".
If anything, we can say all of MCU got "artificial boosters" 1st from Superman: The Movie (because without Superman: The Movie, there is no superhero genre and no MCU) and 2nd from The Dark Knight (because The Dark Knight was the 1st superhero movie to draw in large numbers of non-comic book fans).

And Supergirl, Catwoman, and Elektra were female leads in CBMs before. Back when good CBMs were far and few in number and the MCU hadn't redefined how to do them (which DC took advantage of). Different times. No, there would be CBMs without that movie.

Quality won't matter so long as they can have their heroes on screen "winning". Suicide Squad was dreadful yet took $133 mill. But Thor beat WW? Good heavens.

Superhero films have been around longer than you think Your precious DC heroes weren't the first. [/p][/quote] You do not get the numbers Burton's Batman made from just comic fans. And when they dumped Burton I didn't bother paying to see Batman in the theater

Another fake movie fan who thinks money is equal to equality. Money is necessary to keep it going. Lack of sales usually means no more.
