People have been hesitant with DC because the product has earned a poor reputation and one people don't trust. And the general consensus on this movie is going to read something like "a generic superhero film with little plot, questionable CGI, and some ok but not too special action scenes".
That is going to keep a decent % of people out of theaters and don't forget a lot of other films are coming up, Thor is still theaters, and lets not forget Star Wars in a month.
So what is your current prediction for the final box office? I have to say I'm not sure it can get to 850 at this point.

By strategically hiding the RT score for JL from public view until the last minute, that guarantees a bonus $100 million. Add that to your total and we have $950 million. Throw in the product placement money and we have an easy 1.2 bill. It's in the bag, you hideous troll!
Hee hee hee...

Yup. It's Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. That didn't help BVS
We really need to get over the myth that those are the most important characters ever.

Domestic final totals for BvS were $330,360,194 according to Box Office Mojo. That's not too far off from Guardians Vol. 2. The whole point of this thread was to ask if, after opening weekend when the hardcore fans have come and gone, "Will anybody else show up?" The answer is yes. And the reason is Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

Clearly all 3 of them aren't that big of a deal.
What say you?

I am not a student of box office totals and pay little attention to things like Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes because ultimately they mean very little... But if I had to guess, I will say that the final Box Office will be similar to Ragnarok. At least in a similar Delta between BvS and Guardians 2.

Are you still pretending you don't make bait threads? You are doing exactly what I said you do and you lied and said you didn't. You start a thread where you don't want to discuss anything. You just want to shit on a movie because it's not in the mcu. Larcen answered your question and gave reasons why but instead of discussing you move the goalposts and like a petulant little child exclaim "Thor 3 will make more nyah nyah nyah" You have already started several similar but equally pathetic bait threads like this today. Is your life really so pointless and empty you need to make multiple threads so you can "gloat" to strangers. That's just sad.

Especially since a lot of people still enjoyed the film, which the OP left out of course. A lot more will still like the film I bet. So I say 50%-60%

But if I had to guess, I will say that the final Box Office will be similar to Ragnarok. At least in a similar Delta between BvS and Guardians 2. I agree it will be similar, probably. I'm saying 850 for both.
But I'm also saying that the drawing power of those three is exaggerated. WW by all accounts got amazing reviews and even an extra female draw that wouldn't ordinarily be there for these types of films, and even with that it's about to get beat by all three MCU films released just this year. Superman only drew in the 600's and while I find that film insulting, it's generally considered to be ok, so his drawing power ain't that high. In fact it's so low they had to convert his sequel film into a Batman focus because they didn't think supes could go it alone any more, and I'm sure you remember the days a year before BVS when people were insistent that was still a superman film with just a batman cameo. So we can move past the myth that those three are the crème de la crème of super heroes because we know that a Captain America film could be released tomorrow and it was outsell at least two of them with no problem.

It's because the DCU's attempt at making their own Avengers film to cash in on it was clearly done without any real concern for it's quality. I don't know why DC fans wouldn't be insulted and offended that this has been done to their franchise. I mean I'm a Marvel fan and I'm upset with what Fox has done with the X-Men to the point I don't watch them. I'm definitely upset with the FF. I'm really glad Marvel got the chance to do a great Spidey film. Why would DC fans continue to accept what's happened to the DCEU? The real difference is that Marvel studios cares about their product, and it shows.

Except Deadpool AND Logan were better than every mcu movie I've seen with the possible exception of the first GOTG which I would rate about equal to them. Also it's ridiculous of you to say that generic garbage Spidey's Homecoming Dance was a great Spiderman film. It wasn't....at all....in any conceivable way. The new Spideys exuberance was cool for the minimal bit of time we saw him in Civil War and maybe the first 15 minutes of Homecoming Dance. Then it became a bit annoying and he was probably the best thing about the movie. It was really really weak. They even managed to ruin a good performance by Keaton. The fact you either pretend it was not shit or actually believe it was better than the incredibly superior first 2 Raimi movies show you are either wearing blinders or you just trot out the same tired "Duh me like marvel but duh only mcu burp" no matter what. The bad thing about you is whenever I consider giving you the benefit of the doubt you do an obvious bait thread or make a post like the one I'm replying to that convinces me I was always right about you.

The opening weekend will still be big. I saw a report saying 89% of presales were from DC fans, and that isn't going to change.
The question is, will anybody else show up?
People have been hesitant with DC because the product has earned a poor reputation and one people don't trust. And the general consensus on this movie is going to read something like "a generic superhero film with little plot, questionable CGI, and some ok but not too special action scenes".
That is going to keep a decent % of people out of theaters and don't forget a lot of other films are coming up, Thor is still theaters, and lets not forget Star Wars in a month.
So what is your current prediction for the final box office? I have to say I'm not sure it can get to 850 at this point. BvS had awful reviews and still made 160(?) mill opening weekend? This one may not make that, but if it makes Thor Ragnarok money that'll be okay.

It won't be ok, because that means they'll just keep making more crap, because fans can't help themselves and keep supporting.
They know you can't stop yourself from showing up and they're happy to take your money but put no effort into the product. Why is this acceptable?
