You're either very brave or very foolish. Or like me, a bit of both. I can be a bit of both sometimes. As you know I am a kook and am proud of it.

Quick question Deb: aren't Supergirl and Superman cousins? How did they get married? Sorry if it's a silly question but I'm clueless.

Yeah. Linda Danvers is more interesting and unique. Not only did she have her own superpowers and backstory that was very different than Superman’s and any other superhero we have seen on screen she had her own reoccurring villains and setting in Leesburg. You might also be interested to know Linda wore a blonde wig when she was Supergirl and her real hair colour was brown (as seen below). If they had gone through with the Linda Danvers/Supergirl’ movie that was being written by her creator, Peter David it would have been very different than the show we have now and the Helen Slater movie and I think we would still have her as the Supergirl today and a number of people working at DC have even said it ‘cause she was more popular than Kara and a movie could have seen her explode. The ‘Linda Danvers’ series got more fan letters from female readers than any other comic book series ever had at the time and was more popular among female readers than Wonder Woman. One funny thing about Linda Danvers you might not be aware of is she married Superman in the comic books and they had a daughter together who was Supergirl in the future.
Quick question Deb: aren't Supergirl and Superman cousins? How did they get married? Sorry if it's a silly question but I'm clueless. That is alright. No. Kara Zor-El is Superman’s cousin. Linda Danvers was a human to begin with that had no relation to Clark and she went on to merge with the Matrix for a while when her ex tried to kill her and sacrifice her to a demon and then separated and was reborn as the Earn Born Angel of Fire. You really should check out the 'Supergirl/ Linda Danvers' series by Peter David. It is still my favourite DC Comic Book series of all time with the 'Batgirl' New 52 series by Gail Simone being my second. Here is a link to the first graphic novel.

I never read that issue but I do remember hearing about it. That was kinda odd and it is one thing having Linda and Clark together 'cause Linda wasn't related to him and isn't Kryptonian but having Clark and Kara together is just eeewww! There were some 'Superman' issues with Supergirl not wearing any clothes where he was covering her up that went a bit far too and then there was the look on Clark's face when he saw Kara in a bikini in 'Smallville' and a number of fans were saying he was going to dump Lana for Kara and if their cousin was that hot they would date her too. Funny thing I heard was Supergirl was originally going to be in 'Superman 3' and her and Clark were going to fall in love in it but Kara was going to be from a different planet.

Didn't Kara (or someone pretending to be her) show up naked in her first appearance on Smallville?

Didn't Kara (or someone pretending to be her) show up naked in her first appearance on Smallville? Yeah. That was Adrianne Palicki's character, Lindsay Harrison who according to the showrunners was 'Smallville's version of Karen Starr/ Power Girl and even though she didn't return there were numerous references to Power Girl throughout the series and you might be interested in this site.

Did they ever explain why she was naked? I can't remember if they did or didn't.

I don't think it was but I think it had something to do with Jor-El controlling her 'cause Clark came back naked after he had been inside his mind too and that lead to the introduction of Lois Lane. I don't mind seeing Adrianne Palicki naked so any excuse will do.

It is time to celebrate. Somebody carked it last week. Quenton is dead. Dead as a fucking doornail and a tissue from a tree. He ain't coming back from that. I'm so upset I couldn't stop crying when he was in hospital. All those years of him in the Arrow flashed before my eyes. The memories. The good times. Now. Who wants to put a bullet in Felicity's head? I am pretty sure that is not the death this thread was created about and this is about 'Supergirl' but it wasn't surprising 'cause we all knew he was leaving the show and I kinda think it was more surprising that he lasted another season 'cause I thought for sure he would have been killed off by Prometheus or Talia on the island in the final episode of Season 5 but I feel they will use Quinton's death now to solidify Black Siren's turn to the good side and Black Siren will be out to get revenge on Ricardo Diaz next season for killing her Father. I thought he must have been one of the writers of the show. I didn't know why they wanted to keep him around when he contributed nothing to the show except his ugly mug all over the tv screen which got uglier every season as he got balder. If somebody is going to die on Supergirl it has to be Mon El. That little turd needs to die for sending Amy Jackson away and leaving her for Kara.

No. He is definitely not one of the writers for the show and I think the reason they kept him around for so long was 'cause Marc and Wendy liked the actor and didn't want to get rid of him after they killed Laurel off and had Sara leave and join the cast of 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' but I think he was just hanging around most of the time as a background character who was there to be there and after Laurel died he didn't really have much of a purpose on the show. They tried to give him a purpose by pairing him up with Thea in Season 5 but I don't think that went the way they planned and the actress who played Thea was busy working on another show at the time so what could have been more of a longer storyline was dropped and then they put him with Black Siren this season. Amy Jackson will be back and I know for a fact she is going to appear in the final episode.

Quentin had a lot of potential as the Jim Gordon type character, but like so many of the others they jerked him around to much and lost direction for him. They should have kept him on the force, though it's hard to say if he should have eventually become commissioner, which might have been too much like Gordon. The idea of him becoming Mayor had some merit; and could have given him a similar dynamic with the Green Arrow, while making him functionally different. Plus I think it would have been better than Oliver serving as mayor, at least during the time he did.
In hindsight, I think Lance should have been kept in the dark about Oliver's identity; maybe even Laurel's. How they would have dealt with Sara or Laurel's death, or how Sara came back or Black Siren is hard to say, but I think once he out and out knew, that marked a distinct shift; where there seemed to be very little pretense about his secret identity, and at that point or soon after all of the main characters knew who the Green Arrow was. And the show wasn't the same any more.

And the show wasn't the same any more. I agree. I think if better handled Quinton could have become more like Barbara's Dad and played a big part in the show as commissioner but I think while they were jerking him around they lost direction for him as you said and didn't know what to do with him. In the last two seasons he has been the one character that has served the least purpose in the show and hasn't really done much of anything outside of being a character that exists to talk to or support other characters and I am not sure if that was so much 'cause he knew about the Green Arrow's identity - I think Quinton still could have served a greater purpose in the show knowing who the Green Arrow was but after he found out it was the beginning of his decline and I think Sara leaving and going to 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' and Laurel being killed off added to that too. I am surprised over how many people know the superheroes identities in these shows now and there is hardly anybody left in 'Arrow', 'The Flash' and 'Supergirl' that don't know Oliver, Barry and Kara are the Green Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl. They have become like the second half of 'Smallville' where all the characters knew Clark had powers except they did it a lot earlier and I think they should have held it off longer.

Well now that's just crazy talk! That would require the writers to be creative and good! And that's just crazy talk!

Well now that's just crazy talk! That would require the writers to be creative and good! And that's just crazy talk! Yes, it would which is technically what all writers of TV shows should be. When did the networks in America start dropping their standards so low that almost anything good or bad become acceptable in a TV show? Do you even have people watching over these shows anymore that care about quality or do they just dismiss 'cause they are TV shows based on comic books and think anything will keep people happy? On a related note it seems like a lot of these shows and movies don't care about secret identities anymore and I noticed that started with the 'X Men' movies when they had Hugh Jackman not wearing the Wolverine costume and calling him Logan in public. They 'X Men' movies completely did away with secret identities and costumes and I heard it was 'cause they thought Hugh Jackman looked funny in the yellow costume they decided not to have him wear it but they could have just gone with a different colour and kept the mask.

The show is so boring without her it is almost like watching that lame Spider Turd movie.

This kind of show, that's who!
And I hope for your sake that your Spider Turd comment was aimed at the Andrew Garfield movies. otherwise we will be having words!
