Incredible, shattering records everywhere, and it hasn't even opened in China

Box Mojo's estimate is $250 million so a new record.
$630 million worldwide already. Which is also #1 for Worldwide openings by a huge $90 million.

Thank God it broke The Force Awakens' record. IW is so much better.

I've long said that this needs to be the highest-grossing MCU movie ever (adjusted for inflation) in order for me to consider it a success. It looks like they're on track to do just that.
Let's give credit where credit's due: the MCU's disciplined and ambitious approach has literally paid off.

Thank God it broke The Force Awakens' record. IW is so much better. It isn't confirmed yet. If their model is out by 1%, that's a $2.5 million difference.

It beat Justice Leagues entire domestic haul in 1 weekend. I actually like Justice League but this is amazing.

It'd need $262 million to be the highest with inflation which probably won't happen but doesn't matter because it's still got the record.

These are estimates, the final numbers come tomorrow afternoon. It could still very easily fall below the record since it is only estimated 2 million over it.

Oh my gosh! Didn't see this coming at all. Now word is coming in that this could challenge for 260+. Sunday is looking to be near 70m or maybe more. For context....that would beat the old Saturday record of 69m! The record is a done deal...the only thing left is how high it will set the record. I'm still not sold on the legs with how I hear kids are reacting plus the competition coming up with Deadpool and Solo. But it's hard not to notice the positive word of mouth so far. That Sunday drop is ridiculously good. Marvel is owning it. They set out to do something different and it's paying off for them big time. They can have a huge cast of characters in a movie like this that the audience knows and cares about without having to establish each one like other movies do. That powerful scene between Thor and Rocket is a great example of how that works.

I know it will probably not happen, but I would love to see this film out perform episode 7.
I understand that it's still Disney, but I really want episode 7 knocked off the top.

Juggernaut. Glad it beat TFA, the Disney reboot of SW has been lame.

Lots of DCU fanboys appear to be adopting the "Thank God it beat TFA," narrative to salve their inner turmoil.
