What rating would you give Starship Troopers (1997)? I really enjoyed this movie in my teens, mainly for the action because most of the dark humour flew right over my head at the time. I re-watched it recently, and I still think it's fairly solid. Can't go wrong with Verhoeven and Ironside. I also have the PC game somewhere... A 7/10 from me.

Many of my favorites have already been mentioned, but I'll add Rain Man's main theme by Hans Zimmer.
It builds beautifully, and really makes the ending of the movie hit home for me.

When I used to watch back to back episodes of Forensic Files that I'd taped as a teen in the summer, alone in my parents house which creaks all the time... yes. Since then, nope.

I enjoy Droid Bishop's tracks. I'm also really into FM Attack, you might enjoy this if you like Droid Bishop's stuff:

Seen before:
Cabin Fever (Watched on 1st October) - Was pretty much as I remember it from many years ago. I actually watched some of it again with the director's commentary, I picked this up on DVD many years ago. I Know What You Did Last Summer (Watched 26th October)

I don't really know if this counts as 'downtempo', Hardcastle certainly has much more downtempo tracks than this... His Jazz work is great, but I keep coming back to this one. I never really thought about it until recently, but the 808 sounds very heavy in this one, not saying that's a bad thing though.

I used to watch this quite frequently on VHS when I was younger, but for years I never noticed that when Nedry is talking to Dodgson on the call through his computer, he's actually just talking to a video file playing. You can see the standard IRIX video player, even including the bar/volume options on the screen. This gif sums it up nicely:

Just looking at the other movies distributed by LIVE Entertainment/Artisan around that time, I think the one closest to the description is Joyride (1997). I tried to look for the opening to the Wishmaster VHS, but all I could find was the UK copy, and I couldn't see anything relevant in the trailers. I have Wishmaster on LaserDisc, but it doesn't have any trailers unfortunately, someone on here must have Wishmaster on VHS though... Going out on a serious long shot here, but you don't remember some sort of portal from the trailer? I am from Ireland so the UK one would be the same one I seen, did you watch the clip? The tape in this clip has trailers for Easy Rider and U Turn, they don't appear to match the description though... Here's the clip/opening to the tape: Easy Rider trailer starts at 3:18, and U Turn trailer starts at 6:00 Direct link in case that doesn't work: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pv1AnmydnOUCould you be remembering a different tape?

The first one that popped into my head was The Running Man. I always thought Cadre Cola was a pretty great in-movie branding. It appears at 2:48 in this video. Paula Abdul choreographed the ICS dance.

Long time watcher of this show. I used to tape it during the day and then watch it in the evening... I've still got some old episodes taped. Back when YouTube's copyright detection was essentially nonexistent, I used to watch an episode over my lunch break at work. This show is the best lunchtime TV ever! I remember many cases going back 15+ years. As others have said, I do feel that sometimes she's made up her mind before the case has even begun, but I don't really mind too much. Also, I don't think she says "baloney" as much these days. Does anyone else prefer the old intro? I miss the line "This is her courtroom!". Every time I watch a new episode, I dub that part over the intro in my head.

My original rating upon release was an 8, although if I viewed it now, it might get a 7 from me... I can't think of many comic-book-themed movies which engrossed me as much as Sin City. It made me feel the same way as Sci-Fi movies did as a child; as if I had escaped into another world. The dialogue/script was essentially perfect. I just love the feel of Sin City. Whenever I meet someone who hasn't seen Sin City, I always tell them to stay well away from the extended cut, at least for a first viewing. I have no idea why they released that, perhaps it's more faithful to the comics story line, but it kills the vibe for me. Ok, I'll leave it at 8.

Double Dare (1976) - It aired on GSN, so I would assume that the tapes were saved.
I've Got a Secret (1964-1973, 1976) - The status of the 76 version is not totally known, but some tapes are still around in the hands of collectors. GSN has also aired some of the 76 version. GSN also airs the 64-73 version with some censorship of cigarette prizes/mentions.
The Newlywed Game - The 1974 finale still exists. GSN have aired it along with some other episodes. Most of the episodes of the shows early run have supposedly been wiped.
Beat The Clock - All of the 1979 episodes exist and some of the earlier episodes exist.
The Game Game - The 70's episodes are intact.
The Parent game (1972/1973) - Some episodes exist.
Treasure Hunt - The 70's era episodes exist.

For me:
Blade Runner The Matrix The dollars trilogy Battle Royale (still seems fresh to me, even after HG) Hard Boiled (I don't think will ever be topped as an action movie) Videodrome (prophetic in parts) The Iron Giant Back To The Future (will always be cool for me) The Goonies (still popular with kids now) Pulp Fiction (a cultural milestone) Scream (still popular with teens today) Something by Martin Scorsese
I know that I'm missing quite a few, but that's what I can think of now...

Apart from what has already been mentioned, these movies come to mind:
The Town That Dreaded Sundown (2014) - I thought this movie was OK, it doesn't have the best rep, but it made me happy to see the Orion logo at the start.
The Loft (2014) - I didn't really enjoy this...
Before I Go to Sleep (2014) - Enjoyable for me.

Blade Runner (8.2 rating on IMDB). I suppose it is a movie people either love or don't. My top 10 are relatively mainstream, my top 30 and beyond is all over the place.
