While I don't know how much more you can do with the character, it'd be dumb economics not to bring her back given the wild success of Halloween 2018.
Though maybe they should leave Dewey and Gale/David and Courteney alone. Now those two have *really* been stretched thin.

David Arquette has said that he would like to return for a 5th Movie.

Not crazy about them doing a fifth, especially with Craven gone and my dislike of the fourth, but if they do it they need to do something like the plotting ideas we came up with in these threads. I particularly like Lebowskidoo 🦞 ’s idea to have 5 ignore all the sequels and just be “a continuation of the first movie only.” And two killers pretending to be one is just too old hat at this point.

I'll bet he would, considering it's the only time he's seen.

They almost had 3 Killers in the 2nd Movie.
Do you think something like that would work if they did it in the 5th Movie ?
I myself definitely think that it is possible that it might work but it really depends on both the plot and execution of it.

If she's in it, I am watching (it's pretty much her series overall and just on her general attractiveness alone makes it worth seeing especially considering I think the movie should be at least good enough not to waste my time) because while I am sure many would credit Wes Craven as the core of it, I think without Neve Campbell it's no longer a Scream movie. because while you could make a good case for either person for making the series, I tend to affiliate Neve Campbell more with the series than Wes Craven at this point in time. like in the early days, like the first Scream movie, it was probably more Wes Craven than anyone else that made it tick but I think as the series went forward it became more Neve Campbell's show. but I think at the very least the Scream series is either Wes Craven or Neve Campbell who you most affiliate with them. p.s. for the record... I don't consider myself much of a Horror fan in general. but there are some Horror movies I like re-watching here and there and the Scream series is one of them. I mildly like all four movies as I don't have a clear preference of the series. onethreetwoMaybe, as they are going to have to evolve a bit just to keep it fresh enough. because I think if they fail to be at least decent in this regard, it will almost certainly be dissed especially since some people seem to consider it Wes Craven's series and without him they are likely to write it off as a failure right off the start. but like I was saying... I think as the series went forward, Neve Campbell pretty much became bigger than Craven if you ask me as I think as long as she's there and the plot is half way decent (it does not need to be nothing too fancy since it is a slasher movie at the end of the day) then it can work well enough as it's not like they are making some high art type of movie so you don't need some fancy elaborate plot and I think the series can probably rely on it's name to sell it a bit to since they are better than most Horror movies, especially of the slasher type as I would imagine among the slasher type it's one of the higher names.

Me too. She is to Scream franchise what Jamie Lee Curtis is to the Halloween franchise.

What if they killed off Neve in the opening sequence like they did Drew Barrymore in the first movie? That would be ballsy!

What if they killed off Neve in the opening sequence like they did Drew Barrymore in the first movie? That would be ballsy! Ballsy, and brilliant. She’s one of the best parts of these movies, but the series desperately needs a surprise, a shot-in-the-arm, after three sequels of decreasing twistiness. Not sure how to square that circle…

Yeah, but three killers isn’t some kind of a big twist, it seems pretty predictable. (“‘And in Scream 3,’ producers said, ‘we’ll have 4 killers and keep adding another killer for each additional movie! Muhahaha!’”) Something like making the whole town in on it or making Dewey the killer or that sort of thing would be more surprising, I think. As you say, though, everything depends on the execution.

The 2 New Directors told Neve Campbell that they wanted to Honor Wes Craven's work.
Killing off her character (especially like that!) would not be honoring it, That would instead be both a GIANT slap in the face and also the Death of the Franchise as well.
