Pros - Liam Neeson is always good. The pod racing scene. Duel of the Fates.
Cons - Puppet Yoda. Why he looks so damn different? Bring in Samuel L. Jackson but have him play as heavily sedated. Jake Lloyd. This film probably did ruin his life as I last heard he is in a mental hospital after a high speed chase with cops. I hope Arnold at least sent him a Turbo Man doll. "A communications blackout can only mean one thing - Invasion!" Jump the gun, why don't you?
For those were around in the late 90s, remember the hype for this? Huge. Talking Christina Hendricks chest big. Then the sinking feeling when finally seeing it. I guess that's why I didn't see it again until 2006. Still, at the end of the day, it's just a movie.

Pro: I remember when they introduced the princess and entourage going on a journey, and thinking "well, anyone with brains would hide the real princess among the other ladies, and have an imposter being the "target", a deadly job, but one that many would feel patriotic enough to do. And thankfully, they did just that.
And that Jar character. I think he was okay. He wasn't what messed up the story.
Those are the only pro points.
Cons: Nothing was interesting. It was dull. Machines are dull, and they tried to impress with machines. Motor vehicles never replaced horses in the libido of normal movie watchers. Only the crack heads liked that kind of stuff. This one was for the fried brain people.

It is the greatest film of all time and I'm glad this film defined my childhood. And I think people who hate it are full of it.

Well personally I like the film even though it has its flaws and I don't totally agree with the criticisms made in the reviews, but those reviews are entertaining. |

I have respect for those willing to speak great about an underdog, and this movie is not healded by any means, so you're standing on your own, and that's gutsy. I respect that. What are those problems? You've got me curious. At least 90 percent of every change that was made seems out of place, or unnecessary just takes you out of it, you know? Example: the scene in a new hope with jabba and han solo, the scene is awkward as sin, but even if somehow it was done well, it doesn't give us any information that we didn't already have. Or really need. And that's true for nearly all of the other changes that were made.
