The racism is debatable, and QGJ is most certainly not "pointless." Everything about him is a retcon of what Old Ben says. Like what? The one throwaway line in Empire about Yoda being the "Jedi Master who instructed" him, which is both explicitly addressed and visually illustrated in Episodes II and III?

Oh yeah, Lucas suddenly remembered that line in AotC and made Yoda the designated youngling teacher. Nice save. That's like a Harvard graduate calling their kindergarten teacher their instructor. Never mind that it completely undermines Yoda's teaching and Luke's learning if they're just doing 5 year old s**t. Don't forget ROTJ: "When I first knew him, your father was already a great pilot. But I was amazed how strongly the Force was with him. I took it upon myself to train him as a Jedi. I thought that I could instruct him just as well as Yoda." Which apparently translates to: "He was good at Nascar. Yoda wanted nothing to do with him and neither did I, but my real instructor made a dying wish so my hands were tied."

Nah, it's clear that Yoda is a mentor to Obi Wan throughout the prequels and it's explicitly stated at the end of III that Yoda has more training for him, passed on to Yoda by none other than... Qui Gon! Thus negating both of your lazy, nineteen-year-old non-plotholes at once. Furthermore, what you quoted about Anakin is exactly what's depicted in Episode I.

It is the greatest film of all time... It's ok to drink while on these boards, mw, but you should make sure you're completely sober before posting anything.

Great, keep all that Yoda/Obi-Wan training before and after the prequels' events. Like having Obi-Wan and Anikan become friends in between episodes II and III. Because that's how storytelling and character investment work. Or, you know, just write Qui-Gon out and stick Obi-Wan in his place so you and the films don't have to backpedal.

Pros - Liam Neeson is always good. The pod racing scene. Duel of the Fates.
Cons - Puppet Yoda. Why he looks so damn different? Bring in Samuel L. Jackson but have him play as heavily sedated. Jake Lloyd. This film probably did ruin his life as I last heard he is in a mental hospital after a high speed chase with cops. I hope Arnold at least sent him a Turbo Man doll. "A communications blackout can only mean one thing - Invasion!" Jump the gun, why don't you?
For those were around in the late 90s, remember the hype for this? Huge. Talking Christina Hendricks chest big. Then the sinking feeling when finally seeing it. I guess that's why I didn't see it again until 2006. Still, at the end of the day, it's just a movie.
Agree about the cons I would add Darth Maul and the music to pros. And world building

I don't drink and like I said, the haters are full of it. Why is it so hard for you to imagine that other people might have a completely view of this film than you?

I don't have to backpedal, and neither do the films. In fact, I have the man himself here to stand up to whatever petulant fanboy concerns you should have. I'm sure he'll clear this right up. Make me proud, George: D'oh!!!!1

PRO: The Kenobi/Maul fight with the dual lightsabre
CON: Why did they make Anakin so much younger than Amidala, only to speed up his aging for the second movie? Dumb.

They're the same age difference in all three movies. In I, she's 14 and he's 9. In II, she's 24 and he's 19. In III, she's 27 and he's 22.

It makes it seem weird that they meet when he's a slave child and she's an older queen, who will one day have relations and spawn.

She's never any older or younger than him in any of the movies. The difference is the same throughout. She's not an "older queen" except that she's a few years older than he is, which is a part of his character arc in the prequels. It's not like she's 27 and he's 9 and he's 20 and she's 27 etc.

Pros: The Trade Federation and the Senate debates (this alone could have made for a much deeper film, wish that the political maneuvering was more fully explored) Darth Maul Liam Neeson Ewan McGregor Pod Race
Cons: It all goes downhill from here. Attack of the Clones is one of the worst films of all time. The mechanized army near the end. Jar Jar The scene of the gradually larger underwater creatures eating each other in the background.
I was at the first screening of this film in Houston, it was a midnight showing. The anticipation was unbelievable. We even had a person come out and introduce the film before it first hit the screen. Lots of applause at the 20th Century Fox opening.
Almost like a bad acid trip when everyone was leaving. No applause at the end. We seriously waited 16 years for this?

Pros: One of the most imaginative SciFi films out there, namely in art design, classical score and special effects. The insidious rise of Sheev Palpatine becoming chancellor by selling his own people and allies is cleverly written, and took me several viewings to decode. A lot of iconic stuff in there, like Maul, pod racers, saber fight, world building. Sith & Padawan concepts etc.
Cons: Boring, 4-act structure does not work to well (looking at you Last Jedi too). Still not a big fan of Jar Jar either, but I have grown out of my youthful hate.
IMO the weakest of the prequels.

Puppet Yoda. Why he looks so damn different?
They corrected the ugly Yoda puppet by replacing him with a more authentic looking CGI version in the BR version. One of the times CGI really is a veritable improvement over practical.

Also, there's no "gradually larger creatures." It's just one big creature who follows them and eats the other two.
