These aren't comics, they're movies and they can be of any genre they wish to be. The Batman 1966 show was somewhat comedic. Deadpool was comedic. Guardians of the Galaxy was comedic. The two Fantastic Four movies were comedic. New Mutants will be a horror. The Blade movies were part horror. Morbus will likely be horror. Some are down to Earth like The Dark Knight and some are not like Batman Forever. As you said Thor is not X-men. Ragnarok was very different because people didn't think much of the previous two movies. They changed it up and it ended up being far more successful and we'll liked. Batman and Robin had neon lights coming out of neon lights. Batman Forever had neon lights on the goons guns. Batman and Robin was campy and awful from start to finish. More pathetic excuses. what you are saying is kind of like a teacher trying to use cheap and nonsense ways to justify why he gave a student an A when he deserves an F. for a dumb reason like...the student has a crush on me.
these are not comics? um, do you think these excuses would have worked for Harry Potter or LOTR movies if they were made into nothing more but CGI kids comedy and the excuse is, well these are the movies, the books are fantasy. its called an adaption, do you know what an adaption is? it is also called comic book movies. mcu movies are now disney movies.
OMG, so your best excuse for thor 3 not actually been been Ragnarök is because the past films were struggling, so when you struggle you answer is to get dumber and act more childish? is that what they taught you in school
see why most people say mcu movies are damaging cinema. true batman and robin was awful, so are most of the mcu movies.
I will believe this if you provide some kind of citation for this from a reputable source. Pew Research Poll, Gallup Poll, Scholarly Articles on Film, or Exit questionnaires after movies would be acceptable. I understand you like Fox's X-men. I do too. X2 ( Sony's Spiderman 2 also) is in my top 25 movies of all time, not just comic book movies but all movies. I also understand the continental shift from the successes of X-men films to the successes of MCU. When people get into those tribal like groups they are dicks to each other. It's the main problem humans have tried to overcome. Our history has been a struggle from including more and more people in our tribe. So I I know MCU fans got full of themselves around you because you had a different tribe. I wish everyone could just be Superhero fans and not be at each others throats. During the Nolan's Trilogy, I was a strong X1, X2, Spiderman and Spiderman 2 fan. I just preferred them. I loved Nolan's movies but I loved the others more. And trust me Nolan fans would be a dick to me because I liked X2 to Batman Begins and Spiderman 2 to The Dark Knight. I loved The Dark Knight but for me Spiderman 2 was better. Just subjective personal opinion. So I'm sure you have had bad experiences with MCU fans. As a truely neutral party, the statement I highlighted in red makes me question your other points. And I bet we could probably match up similar opinions on X-men films. I just also like MCU, Nolan, and 2.5 movies of the DCEU. (Wonder Woman, Most of Justice League, and Most of Man of Steel) I absolutely hate Mosquito Coast. Like hardcore hate it. And me carrying that hate for one film is tiring for me. Luckily it doesn't come up very often. I cannot imagine the weight of hate you carry for MCU's 19 movies.

I hate mcu movies because they are terribly written, carry no substance and they fulfil all the bad stereotypes of comics that are not true. most people think comics are dumb today just because of mcu movies. I hate how they have damaged one of my favourite hobbies and I have every right to speak out especially when most of you just lie and come up with the most insane excuses to defend these cgi comedy garbage.
let me summarise it. they teach this in film school
and this was in 2012? we know mcu has gotten worse. mcu movies are not even real movies.

Again I'm going to need some kind of citation on this. I have a History Degree I am geared toward citations. Again if you can provide proof of that statement I will believe whole heartedly. Saying something that inflammatory without proof is ludicrous. If a majority of people think comics are dumb they why has comic book properties invaded every part of pop culture? What I've seen in my 40 years on this planet is more and more the geeky things becoming mainstream. If anything comic book IP is loved by more people than ever. I won't say comics themselves are more popular than ever, but their adaptations are.

Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings attempted to recreate the story of the books for the movies as accurately as they could. Superhero movies do no such thing. They'll use the characters, the powers, the back stories (usually) and plot devices here and there but they never attempt to accurately adapt what happened in the comic. Superman 1978 was not based on any one Superman comic, Batman 1989 was not based on any one Batman comic, X-men 2000 was not based on any one X-men comic, Spider-man 2002 was not based on any one Spider-man comic and so on. They tell their own stories for the movies. Ant-man isn't adapting anything. It's using the characters and then doing it's own thing like they all do. The Batman movies have had a comedic approach, gothic approach, cartooney approach and a grounded approach.. If you think it's dumber then that's your opinion. You're wrong on this either regardless because what they decided to do to change it made Ragnarok by far the most successful and well liked of the three movies. "Most people" would be a majority. No, the majority says no such thing. An extreme small minority say that.

Yeah we are just going to butt heads here. I've seen in the last 20 years something awe inspiring. Comic Properties being developed for the average person. And the average person embarrassing Comic Properties. Twilight might've penetrated the pop culture of women, but that pales in comparison to what Fox, WB/DC, Sony and yes Marvel Studios have done. They have gotten both men and women young and old to watch these movies. You may hate MCU that's your right, but to say that a majority of people think MCU is dumbing down cinema or people think comic books are dumb is ludicrous and damages your legitimate problems with the MCU.

Hollywood already did the damaged.
Look what's out there, Remakes, sequels, comic book movies. For Christ sake they won't even leave the 80's alone with their constant shitty remakes and sequels.
Cinema died a long time ago and I welcome it's death.
I just wish the fandom and movie goers died with it.

If I remember even jacob wanted bella to abort the child but she stood her ground. I condemned the jacob/rensemee love story but it still does not take away that twilight still chose to tackle the the themes of abortion, meanwhile disney mcu banned drinking problems in iron man 3 for the sake of kids?
funny was Xavier not a drug hippie in DOFP?
was bruce not sombre and depressed for 8 years in TDK after the event of TDK?
MCU IS ABOUT FUN AND JOKES. NOTHING OF REAL SUBSTANCE.

Well by defending Twilight just to trash the MCU you just proves even further that you are in no position to call MCU fans and MCU movies stupid. Your stupidity outclassed ours ten fold.

Then people who criticise Xmen movies saying their characters are not comic accurate are hypocrites and liars since the MCU portrayals of guys like Thor, Banner, Peter Parker and Peter Quill are nothing like their persona from the source material. People become blind to that only because they get more screen time and a colourful costumes. I haven't seen too much criticism for the X-men characters outside of the odd one here and there like Deadpool and Apocalypse. They have changed the personality for quite a few MCU characters but they are visually accurate. It's not just that for the X-men though. Storm was supposed to be African in the same way as Black Panther but that was never referred to with Halle Berry. Cyclops should have been the Captain America of the X-men movies but that never happened. Beast was a scientist in the comics. He was a Secretary of Mutant Affairs in the movies. Sabertooth had a personality in the comics. In the first movie he never spoke. Wolverine had a history of being in Japan where he received training in martial arts and stealth before becoming and X-man. That never happened in the movie. Rogue pretty much took Jumbilee's position being too young to be an X-man and was really close to Wolverine. Colossus was Russian in the comics but was American in the movies. So things like is where the MCU has generally been a bit more accurate.

I haven't seen too much criticism for the X-men characters outside of the odd one here and there like Deadpool and Apocalypse. They have changed the personality for quite a few MCU characters but they are visually accurate. They changed em to goofy comedians to please mass audiences. It was a marketing strategy. Agreed. Storm has had the worst treatment in the franchise no doubt, she needed to be much more developed and her voice heard a lot more. His personality is the same from the comics though more or less. His demeanour and attitude are same as Chris Evans Cap. Thats the argument here, that Disney bastardiszes the character traits of heros to dumb them down. What would be your reaction if Disney makes Scott Summers do a dance off to defeat a bumbling idiot Mister Sinister? Would MCU fans enjoy and defend it as much as they do the Quill Ronan dance of?? Which is portrayed well in the movies. His personality is accurate. Hes exactly like how Banner started out until Disney dumbed him down in Ragnarok and IW. Made up in origins. His personality is accurate They didnt dumb him down by giving him lots of quips 24/7 whichis what Disney will do
