What a bummer. You can skip the first hour and will not have missed ANYTHING good. that is if you saw the first one.
You can sit in the cinema and fall asleep during the second hour and will not have missed anything REALLY good.
I advise you to wake up for the final minute as that has some value to it, albeit its probably not what you would expect the final scene of this movie to be.
To be fair - it has one good fight scene, toward the end, that has a cool atmosphere that is a bit like the Silence of the Lambs final act atmosphere, but everything before that is boring to stupid. Completely lost all its sex appeal from the first part. Now its just a generic "really good killer vs some slightly bad but still very good killer" movie, that happens to have 3 good actors in it.
Oh well. Maybe next time Denzel.
3.5/10 from me.
What did everybody else think?

Is Denzel's crown slipping?

Is Denzel's crown slipping? that sounds sexual so Iam gonna say no, but if you mean is his acting status getting lower - I would say no, or not too much, he is still a very good actor and carries the movie very well and had this been a first installment i would have given it a 5 out of 10 but since this is a sequel what upsets me is they practically abandoned a lot of what made the first one good (the watch/timing/previews/reminiscence) in lieu of a regular assassin/vigilante movie, which just John Wick does So much better in every way that it just doesn't carry its two hours as entertainment. The fight scenes are sloppy, the plot is SUPER predictable the pacing is off. the first hour is a regular snooze fest. if i want to be super gentile i will go up to 4/10 but no more. sorry. too much fluff before it starts to get interesting, repeated what wasn't so interesting from he first one, left out or minimized what made the movie kinda stand out. meh.

Hadn't seen the first one. Thought the trailers made it look generic af then I heard okay things about it. But evidently, I put it off.

I saw the first one, but I didn't feel it really needed a sequel. I mean it was decent, but nothing that begged for a sequel.

It still has a 7.1 IMDb rating but that is likely to go down. I liked The Equalizer 1 better than John Wick 2.

It looks like the Taken 2 of the Equalizer series. An unecessary sequel to a decent film that didn't need one anyways.

It still has a 7.1 IMDb rating but that is likely to go down. I liked The Equalizer 1 better than John Wick 2. interesting. I have met people like that before. Its not what I would say but I guess I get it. For me Equalizer 1 had too much of the social undertones (oh what a good and caring person he is and what good he does for troubled youth and community) and they went full retard with this subplot this time. Whereas Wick is just a retired assassin forced to go back but never tries to convince us he thinks or we should really think he is a good person. Plus the music and camera were still better in John Wick 2 than Equalizer 1 I would say. I get why the IMDB rating would be higher, Denzel does have a lot of charisma and he IS a great actor. And ther are 2 scenes that area really well done. but they are unique in a 120 minute movie thats full of "look at what a good person with a good heat this killing machine is" what burgs me the most is that they only use the watch/time speeding/slowing trick a few times here, where to me that was the most appealing part of Equalizer.

Im really looking forward to this. Why do you have to piss on my party like that? I apologize, good sir. It was just a huge disappointment to me as I too was very much looking forward to it. Part of my dissent may lay in the fact I had no food or drink with me in the cinema. Bring a big popcorn and a tall bubbly with you and I am sure it will be a better experience.

Didn't particularly like the 1st one so yeah, I'm definitely skipping this one all together . Denzel is freaking 63 years old. Him & Liam Neeson need to stop making action films .

Was this one more like the tv show at all? For everyone who didn’t know The Equalizer was based on an 80’s tv show starring Edward Woodward. Seemed the only connections the first movie had with the show was the name Robert Mcall and the craigslist ad “odds against you? Call the equalizer”. Denzel had no idea it was based on a tv show.

I just think it's a shame they used The Equalizer name for this, they could have used that for something that was actually like The Equalizer.
