It's looking like the backlash has begun. It's despicable that so many MCU fans are supporting a pedophile scumbag like Gunn. If you had a kid in elementary school and your kid's teacher tweeted about how he likes to rape young kids, you'd want the school to fire that teacher. So now that Gunn has tweeted about how he likes to rape young kids, MCU fans support Gunn just because they like his movies. Like I said, that's just despicable! More fake moral outrage. You don’t give a shit about his tweets. All you care about is making a MCU director and MCU fans look as bad as possible. Apart from that, Gunn posted disturbing stuff during his association with Disney/marvel, including the J Leto stuff I remember. Unfortunately, he deleted 10k posts so we or the authorities will never fully know what was there.
But in the end this is irrelevant for the termination. People do not understand how termination laws and modern business ethics work.
Even if you did depraved things before your employment that may cause damage to your employer in some way, the latter will be entitled to immediately terminate for good cause. Unless they knew about all of the transgressions and accepted them (waiver, difficult to prove). In such case immediate dismissal for cause will likely not work but only an ordinary termination by adhereing to an agreed notice period .
I would not be surprised if early termination in Gunns case was linked to a forfeit/severance payment amounting to millions of USD. Meaning that Gunn would get paid royally for his disturbning child-rape fantasies, more than an ordinary worker will every earn in a lifetime of hard work & heavy lifting.

Well if anything good came out of this it's the discussion of what should be fireable offense and what shouldn't be. You got one side that agreed with Roseanne firing but are upset with James Gunn firing. You have another side that agreed with James Gunn firing but are upset with Roseanne firing. Then you have another group who believe both deserved to be fired. And then you have another who believe that both Roseanne and James Gunn shouldn't have been fired. To be fair, Roseanne made her comments while under her employer. Even did it on the show. Gunn made his comments before getting hired by his employer and before he was connected to them in any way. Either Disney knew of the tweets but didn't care or b. To clarify, I'm not defending Gunn, not really. I'm more just condemning Disney for their abhorrent employee treatment. |

I do think his jokes are disgusting, but I’m not gonna jump to the conclusion that he’s an actual pedophile with no evidence. I do think making jokes like that is pretty bad, but I believe they’re just twisted jokes and attempts at shocking people and getting attention, not actual fantasies. I’ve know plenty of people who made similar shock jokes and they didn’t mean them, they just wanted to shock people. Of course I don’t want him to be a pedophile. Who would want/wish for someone who hasn’t personally harmed them in any way to be a pedophile or any other kind of horrible person (except mad fanboys like DC-Fan)?
