FAIL: so you got nothing but deflections and false equivalencies again. Why must this be spelled out to you? These jokes are mocking pedophile characters and people witnessing domestic abuse but staying indifferent to it. They do not advocate child rape unlike James Gunn by endorsing Nambla and convicted pedos and making pedo blogs about how "extremely happy" a freaked out abused child made him or him joking about anally raping his daughter. There is a difference between fictional character and private person too. Further, it is completely irrelevant what others do. It does not excuse Gunn. As Disney succinctly put it: His output is indefensible except for peole like you.

Some are, and I find Singer pretty disgusting as a person (see my little pedo thread on DP II) - though he has been acquitted of all charges and never uttered depraved things like Gunn, nor endorsed Nambla/other pedos. But he is still a pedo to me.
Marvel, we got a problem:
- Gunn is a creep and a hack. His movies are trash.
- Singer is creep and an artist, he created classics like Usual Suspects, Apt Pupil or Valkyrie next to X1, 2 and DoFP. That is impressive vis-a-vis Gunn's raccon turd of an oeuvre.
I did. Even if I didn't, I'd still have the right to speak against Gunn's depravity. I am under no obligation to cover each industry pedophile.

Here's a fun fact about Gunn and GOTG:
He wanted sole writer credit for the movie, despite the fact that Nicole Perlman worked on the script and was the reason why the Guardians movie even got pushed in the first place.
Marvel obviously didn't allow it. But it's fucked up how selfish he was with the writing credit.

TV shows like Family Guy suck and are not funny. Fixed. You don't have to like Family Guy or find its style of humor funny but that doesn't take away from the fact that the purpose of the series is to be an animated comedy. Many things they do are questionable, but almost always the intention at the end of it all is to illicit a laugh from the audience. |

Technically speaking every filmmaker qualifies as an artist, no matter who earns the most praise or scorn from critics or the most money, or even how professional or unprofessional they are, in the end their profession is in a creative industry. The only film of Singer's that qualifies as a classic is The Usual Suspects, but its concept, story, characters, and plot were created by screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie. Apt Pupil and Valkyrie received got mixed critical reception with general audience reception being pretty much being equal. The first X-Men was actually a surprise success because traditional superhero films were not doing very well at the time, but superhero/comic based films have come a long ways since then and it hasn't aged as well as its sequel, which may or may not do just as well today as it were back when it was released if you consider how the marketplace has shifted since. Days of Future Past is too young to be called a classic IMHO, but if it does qualify then so does Guardians, which I think in the long haul will age better. |

Basically, two actresses told the news outlet that a film director told both of them to act like tweens while having sex with him and that director is supposed to be James Gunn. The problem is, I haven't heard any news that says something like that let alone the whole thing related to him.
Does anyone have any information about this? Or do you think Crazy Days and Nights lied? I mean, this is a site that apparently claimed that Brad Pitt murdered an extra during 'Troy' filming, but still...

This conversation is endless but the only things that actually matter are the facts. James Gunn made lots of really bad taste/offensive jokes. There's nothing illegal about that, if he was under suspicion of anything whatsoever he was have been investigated, and if he ever has been they clearly didn't find anything.
If you don't commit any crimes or hurt anyone it really doesn't matter what you say on twitter, it's not even on the level of racism because he doesn't show any hatred of children.
If you want to decide he's a pedophile that's up to you, but surely you know that means nothing in reality, and if you want to be true because you're Marvel films then you might be more comparable to the guy who pointed out the tweets, you know the guy who told people to try raping women non violently (and that's not even bringing up what hehas been convicted of.
The thing about making jokes in attempt to "normalize" pedophilia is dubious in the least. Do catholic priests joke about it in public forums? Did Jimmy Saville? Or did he just say he hates kids?(He did say that, so that people wouldn't think he was into them).
I just wrote a lot more than I expected about a guy who's movies I find somewhat cringe-worthy (and his online self promotion was pretty damn hateable too).

Also, how much about the whole Jimmy Savile thing was known when he was still alive? I DO know that he sued The Sun for reporting something like that back in 2008.
