Get a room, you two. Hee hee hee... We both agree it was silly to have antman and spiderman in the airport scene. Its an obvious example of forced scenarios. I'm sure it is and, I fully support you and DC-Fan in partnership espousing your shared views. The world just feels right with the two of you on the same side.

Yeah, they forced them in, there was some effort to try and assuage the forced nature of it. (Falcon knowing him and the Ironman scene) Still everyone knows they did it for fan service. One of the things I didn't like about the scene. I mean I love the airport fight but it does take you back a bit. I felt the same way with Quicksilver's scene in Apocalypse. Great scene, but yeah just so happens he shows up at the exact moment for the explosion. Again nothing wrong with the scene, but watching it you know it's just fan service. I love some good fan service but wish they were a little more subtle about it.

Both scenes are great if you watch them on youtube without context but it does affect the flow of the films when your watching them in 1 sitting. The apocalypse quicksilver scene is really out of place because Havok dies during that yet quicsilcer is having fun with light jazzy music played in the back. Tonally jarring

Did you like the ending of Last Stand at the time, and has your opinion of it changed over time? I initially thought it was a real bummer, but I've come to really enjoy and appreciate X3 over time. My feelings on it are actually very similar to how I feel about Spider-Man 3. (Who's the one other dude who likes Spider-Man 3 and reps it with me in threads? Is that you, President Ackbar™ ?) I don't like it. I love it. *raises hand* I'm a big fan of Spider-Man 3 too.

Tonally jarring good descriptor Tonally Jarring was what I was trying to think of and couldn't. The use of Spidey and Antman aren't tonally jarring perse , but you know they just wanted spidey in there and wanted the Giantman scene. I think the Russo's said that Antman was always going to be in, but Spidey was late edition because of the Sony deal. You would think that would mean Antman would've been more explained for why he was in. Maybe they decided to just go on the fact Falcon met him in Antman and explained Spidey more as a new character. Either way more was needed for both imho. Time constraints and all I understand, but Civil War does suffer a little bit because of it. As a whole I can forgive both scenes, but yeah they do make you draw back a bit.

the accords felt more real and better done than any mutant registration act story. civil war didnt make it out to be 100% bad like xmen always does. thats a legit point. so basically are you are saying that X-Men are ashamed of comic books and Marvel embraces the wonderousness of reality? That's not too far off from the truth. They ditched the classic yellow suits for black leather suit costumes so they didn't appear silly even though First Class pulled it off subperly

It's likely a banned user, but untill this is proven we have some fun screening him.

fair enough, what do you know about artificial boosters with regard to Holocaust-surviving Magneto, dying Ledger-Joker or the best reviewed, most profitable, price winning masterwork of Wonder Woman (2017)? Do these embrace the bankrupt, grounded approach of being ashamed of comic books vis a vis MCU's embrace of wondrousness? i dunno but wonder woman was pretty standard they wont even let steve stay dead. and bp got getter reviews.

It would be a top ten MCU movie. It is one of the better comic book films ever made. I prefer Days of Future Past.

People go a little crazy here praising X-Men. I agree that Civil War is HIGHLY overrated. It is a middle of the road MCU movie that constantly gets put in the top 3. X2 and DOFP are far better movies IMO. However, the X-Men series has Apocalypse and X3. Both of those movies are worse than any MCU movie ever made.

While the Wolverine could've been great the 3rd act killed it for me. It's 2/3rds of a good movie. I think I'd put X3 over Origins tbh. I would put X2 in top tier in ranking with MCU movies. I think I'd put DOFP and Cap 3 just shy of top tier with Cap 3 just barely beating DOFP. Mainly because I hate the fact that Jennifer Lawrence was made the focus of the plot. It's like the studio went "Oh Jennifer Lawrence is blowing up with Oscars and Golden Globes lets make her the focus." It left a bad taste. I liked First Class better. Probably put that at the lowest of the top tier with Winter Soldier right above it. My ranks are pretty fluid for the majority of XMU, Sony, MCU, and DCEU. The ones at the top and bottom stay pretty steady its the middle that gets reshuffled depending on lots of factors.

Logan was problematic for me. It's a fine film. I deserves all the love it gets. I was expecting something different. That's all on me though.

Don't all superhero comics have a history of forcing characters into stories and providing fan service? Comics basically live on fan service.
