While I do not dispute the claims of Rafizadeh about what happened where he lived, I believe it is important to note that Jews and Muslims get along rather well (as perhaps faustus5 expects) almost everywhere else. I strongly suspect the difficulties are territorial rather than religious. When Europe had "religious" wars it was also more likely about how much land the aristocrats or rulers controlled than any religious idea. The disappointing thing about Donald Trump is that he seems more concerned with how much control he has over territory than any religious idea. |

I believe that women are treated worse in modern Saudi Arabia or Muslim-dominated Sub-Saharan Africa than they were in pre-enlightenment Christianity. I could be wrong of course; but since enlightenment did happen, Islamic countries have no excuse for denying women, homosexuals and apostates human rights. Yes Christians like any other group have done objectionable things over the course of history but those actions are usually in violation to Christian teachings not because of them. |
