Does anyone else here besides me watch this show? Last night's episode was so good. It was really nice what Danny and Detective Baez did for that man at the end. I don't believe that any other detective would've cared about what ended up happening to him. They would've just arrested the guy and that would have been it. I was also glad to hear that Jamie's feelings about his current work position have not changed. Its people like him that this world does not have enough of.
God bless you always!!!
Holly
P.S. I also love how Joe has been kept in the mix even though he is not here anymore.

Last night's show was really good. The guy that Erin let go home could've gone after her in retaliation for them ten years that he lost, but he didn't. Instead he considered the fact that she is reason why he didn't continue to sit in a prison cell.
God bless you always!!!

Love how they always put in a family dinner in their episodes.

I'm thinking of starting to watch it on Netflix. Is it really good?- mean Is is something everyone should see once? Or is it a typical cop show?

I only started watching this because someone else in my family was watching it and I sat down one day to check out an episode, didn't mind it, so checked out another and so on. It definitely feels like a 'family show' (like the sort I vaguely recall watching in the late 80's, early 90's). Yes, there is some kind of 'lesson' in each episode, the show can be rather heavy-handed with that at times, but it doesn't really ruin my enjoyment.
I will say, though, that some of the characters can be quite 'infuriating' at times with their opinions/actions. Sometimes I do find myself getting mad at a character or two because of something they've said or done. That part can be less 'fun'.
I do feel sorry for the adult female characters on the show - especially Erin, who oftentimes seems to get treated unfairly/made out to be the 'bad guy' by her siblings, father and grandfather when it comes to disagreements (usually at their regular Sunday dinners). I'll admit that she can often be 'in the wrong' too, but oftentimes she's 'in the right' and the others just won't admit it/back down, so the writing makes it that she has to instead. It feels like they're 'ganging up' on her, getting angry at her when her job is not in line with what they believe should happen, but will come to her for 'favours' (even if it means bending the rules of the law) when it suits them. The grandfather's probably my least favourite character in the show, though Frank and Danny can get rather tedious also. Jamie seems to be the only one who is (most of the time) reasonable/considerate.
Out of all the temporary partners Danny's had, I like Baez the best. I think they play well off each other, and I enjoy the dynamic between them. I’m glad she's stuck around and now has an ‘Also starring’ credit after the main credits in the show.
I also think Baker is awesome, which is a testament to Abigail Hawk as an actress - the fact that she can do so much with so very little. It’s a shame that her character is given basically nothing to do and she’s lucky if she gets a few lines in an episode. I'm onto Season 6 now on DVD, and she did get an interesting little moment in the latest episode I watched, but as usual, nothing really came from it. They could do so much more with this character.
Despite its flaws, I do enjoy the show and pretty much accept it for what it is. It's got a different 'feel' to most shows I watch, and I need that variety in my TV show viewing (as I watch some pretty grim/depressing shows at times).

^^^ Detective Baez is good, I felt for her when she lost her brother in the season five opener, but Jackie is my most favorite of Danny's partners. Kate was also good. I miss seeing Jamie with Renzulli. We saw them together again for an episode during last season, but I don't know if we will ever seen him again due to him saying that he was going to "turn himself in" concerning something that he did in that episode. What he did may have ended up costing him his badge. Its never been said, so I don't know. I love when Detective Baker told Frank in a season five episode, "I believe that people can change...maybe even Donald Berry." If there is anyone that I would like to tear into, its Erin because of how she treats Danny and Jamie too at times and then of course how hard she is on Nikki. The only time that I have ever been on Erin's side is when she had Nikki be placed in a holding cell during the season six episode when Nikki and her friends got busted for drug possession. I love Sid, Erin's current partner named Anthony, and I love the back and forth that has taken place between Garret and Frank. During a season four episode, Frank was going to have to testify about something he did not want to come forward about and when Garret said to him, "I'd get you the mustache and glasses, but you already have those things." Frank was like, "Remind me again why I keep you around here." God bless you always!!! Holly P.S. Have we finally seen the last of Reverend Potter? Normally I can't stand the guy, but I will admit that I felt for him when he was last shown during the current season just a few months ago. When his wife fell apart after getting the bad news, I cried and was like, "Danny, find who did it!"

Yeah, Jackie was probably the ‘best’ of Danny’s partners, but due to backstage stuff going on, she was written out, I believe. The partners Danny got before Baez didn’t really leave much of a lasting impression on me, so I’m glad that Baez stuck around. It was getting annoying seeing him with new people all the time. I also think she plays well off him and is needed, as Danny himself can be a bit much to take at times (just in my opinion, of course).
If there is anyone that I would like to tear into, its Erin
And I can understand that, just as I’m someone who constantly wants to do the same to the grandfather, Frank and Danny at times. Nicky can also be irritating on occasion – actually, all them can be, but that’s probably realistic – as not many people can be likable *all* the time, I would’ve thought (or at least not without considerable effort). They all have their flaws and all can be likable/unlikable at different times.
I also realise it's probably the 'unpopular' opinion, but I don't mind Eddie as Jamie's partner. I do get why those who aren't fans of her mightn't like her, but I actually think she plays well of Jamie. The most recent episode I watched had them having a superhero discussion, which I liked (it's also weird seeing Vanessa Ray in this show, since she played a very different sort of character in another show I watch/ed).
I like that Sid got to change position from the early seasons and now gets to play off of Frank and Garrett. That’s one change I really appreciated (another is Nicky’s new hair in Season 6, which I’m currently partway through – so much better than her previous hairdo she’d had for the majority of the show).
Detective Baker’s just awesome. I really do hope they give her something substantial to do at some point. I feel sorry for the actress.
I’m glad that we’re able to have some similar opinions about the show and some differing opinions too, but be polite/civil about those differing opinions. Thank you.

She thought that just because she went to Harvard, that she had all of the answers to everything in the world.

Excellent show ! My wife and I have never missed an episode. The writing is very current with today's problems and headlines. The actors mesh very well together and I wouldn't want to lose any of them. It is definitely a family show that can be watched by all. For the most part, it doesn't contain the violence and gore as on other shows....just enough to make the episodic point.
Another excellent show in case anyone is interested is "Bones". Although it's in its season finale (Season 12). If you are able to watch it from the beginning, you won't be disappointed. Just my 2 cents.

Next week is the season seven finale of this show. During last night's show, even though we saw the name of the actress who portrays her, Eddie was never once shown which is how it went for the previous episode. Does anyone here know why? I hope that we have not seen the last of her because I thought that she and Jamie made a great couple!
God bless you always!!!

Last night's season seven finale was good, but I couldn't help but notice how absent from the show Eddie has been lately. What in the world has happened to her???
God bless you always!!!
Holly
P.S. By the way, is Mayor Poole really hanging it up this time? During the season six finale, he said that he was resigning. Well because he obviously lied then, why should we believe anything that he has to say now?
