I came across a mention of film director named Richard Eyer … He is NOT the familiar "kid actor" Richard Eyer The DirectorRichard Eyer the Actor"He has not acted since the 1960's and he now lives in a small town East of California's Sierra Nevada Mountains and teaches elementary school." Would be interesting to know if his students know how famous he still is .

Dunno if this is true but if it is . it's a hell-uv-a-story
Basil Rathbone was a "distant cousin of Maj. Henry Rathbone, who was part of President Abraham Lincoln's theater party the night he was assassinated. Maj. Rathbone himself was stabbed by John Wilkes Booth as the latter was escaping, but the wound was not fatal. Rathbone later married Clara Harris, who was also in the Lincoln party, but he killed her in an insane rage in 1875 and spent the rest of his life in an insane asylum. He had suffered from what would now be characterized as a form of PTSD ever since the assassination."

At the end of “Alien” as Ripley lowers herself (and her cat Jonesy) into her suspended animation/stasis pod for her trip back to earth and the closing credits roll, we hear a three minute-long musical passage: gorgeous; mysterious; and as it concludes, profoundly and ethereally peaceful. For this passage, the film composer Jerry Goldsmith chose, wisely, to employ not his own music but the final three minutes of the first movement of American composer Howard Hanson’s (1896-1981) Symphony No. 2 of 1930.

Max von Sydow is French.
(And Gerard Depardieu is Russian, and Tina Turner is Swiss.)

What Dreams May Come
When Chris Nielsen (Robin Williams ) is with his dog Katie and comes across Albert Lewis, who is standing in the water, Chris recognizes him in his youth. Albert exclaims, "You last saw me when I was 63 stretched out in a cardiac ward....who wants to be 63 throughout eternity?!"
Robin Williams passed away at age 63 on August 11, 2014.

The "Canadians in Hollywood" stamp series released by Canada Post in 2006 included John Candy, Fay Wray, Lorne Greene and Mary Pickford. "Canadians in Hollywood: The Sequel" included Norma Shearer, Chief Dan George, Marie Dressler and Raymond Burr. I must not have been to the post office much during this time or I would have bought both sets!

I never realized that either. Now I need to go through all my reviews and posts to make corrections. I knew that about Cotten, but it took me years to get it through my head to include the "D" in Walter Pidgeon, and omit a "K" from Frederic March. And I still have to check to verify that Hepburn is Kath arine and not Kath erine. I got all those (although occasionally forget about Cotten and can't figure out why his name doesn't come up in IMDb searches lol). Another is Jack LemMon. But I always have to stop and think about Roy Scheider, Romy Schneider, and Maria Schneider.

Yahoo.com is MUCH more forgiving about typos and spell-guesses than IMDb search is.

Anthony Perkins' widow, Berry Berenson, died on September 11, 2001 when her flight was the first plane to crash into the World Trade Center's North Tower, one day before the ninth anniversary of her husband's death.

Thankfully there is no spelling police here!
Over the years I've spelled "villain" totally wrong, I've spelled it "villian", since it sounded good in my ears.

Verne Troyer was in Harry Potter: Sorceror's Stone as 'Griphook' … Warwick Davis supplied the voice.

Ward Bond was only 57 years old when he died in 1960. He seemed ancient to me then !
