While watching the credits roll on The Adventures of Robin Hood (the TV series with Richard Greene), I kept seeing the name "Hannah Weinstein". Unusual for a British show of the mid-50s. Well, it turns out she was an American political activist, very left wing, who went to Britain during the McCarthy period. Many of the writers she hired were Americans who'd been blacklisted a few years earlier. Hence the themes of malevolent government, egalitarian outlaws, and the quest for social justice. And of course Maid Marian was a medieval feminist. I feel like Paul Harvey.

A Mansfield bar is a sturdy metal assembly that hangs down from the bottom rear of tractor-trailers to reduce injury to passengers in cars involved in rear-end collisions with the trailers. These bars, also known as underride guards (among other names), are named after 34-year-old Jayne Mansfield, who was instantly killed when the car she was riding in the front seat of rammed at high speed into the back of a tractor-trailer in 1967.

Annie Potts was the original choice for the role of Alex in Fatal Attraction, but she dropped out to do Designing Women and Glenn Close wound up in the part instead.

James Hong is 90 years old and still acting. He originally trained to be an engineer, but caught the acting bug and has performed in over 400 film & tv roles. He's probably the key to winning any "six degrees of" game in Hollywood.

James Hong was in The Two James with Jack Nicholson Jack Nicholson was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon So hard to believe Hong & Bacon have never appeared together in anything!

The Man with the Golden Gun 1974
The stuntman who did the famous jump over a once bridge,, had never done it before.
Same movie, the man trying to invent the transformable car to aeroplane , died trying, it's just miniatures in the movie.
Jack Palance was the first choice as Scaramanga

Tuesday Weld is a relative of politician Bill Weld. Tuesday Weld was born on August 27, 1943, a Friday! Also on this date, the German rocket Henschel Hs 293 struck, and sank, the British ship HMS Egret, marking the first successful attack by a guided missile. The drama film Watch on the Rhine starring Bette Davis and Paul Lukas premiered at the Strand Theatre in New York City.

On the last night of filming at one of the locations for James Cameron's Titanic, someone laced the catered clam chowder with PCP (angel dust), sending about 80 members of the cast and crew to the hospital with nausea, vomiting, and hallucinations. Cameron said when he realized the food had been spiked, he made himself throw up to try to prevent the poison from getting into his system. www.snopes.com/fact-check/titanic-pcp-chowder/

Tumbleweeds! A stapel in many American movies mainly Westerns. it's natural habit is the Russian Steppes, in other words they are bastards on the American Prairies. Many different version how they came to America, by accident or by gift, but any movie that takes place before 1850 with tumbleweeds, well tumbleweeds didn't exist in American back then. That was news to me.
