This isn’t a thread about releasing the so called Snyder cut of the movie. This is simply a question of whether or not you guys would’ve preferred it if they stuck with what Zack Snyder filmed for the movie, and if WB didn’t impose that two hour mandate or those extensive Joss Whedon reshoots. For or anyone who might be in the dark about what Snyder’s original version would’ve been like, here’s an article that lists the changes that we know about.

I can only imagine how bad Snyder's interpretation of Darkseid would have been. Outside of Wonder Woman, Joss was the only thing the DCEU had going for it.

It absolutely explains why the story seemed so fractured.

It would have been a complete story and a conclusion to Snyder's trilogy for better or worse. There are elements of his DC vision that I liked but were lacking in Justice League. I appreciated what Whedon did to add humor to the proceedings. But I sorely missed grandeur and aura of dread that Zack Snyder successfully captured in the Knightmare sequence in BVS (as unnecessary as it was). Seeing it as a full on invasion would have been something else. Steppenwolf's badass alien appearance would have remained intact compared with the bland old man Loki we wound up with.

Absolutely never would have guessed the opening credits were Whedon and the classic opening-his-shirt-to-reveal-S shot was Snyder.
I'm a little undecided. On one hand, I think Joss made a more enjoyable film than Snyder would have, and I especially liked his Superman - a character Snyder never understood and would have continued to butcher by having him try to murder military and act "unhinged" in the final battle.
On the other hand, I like cohesiveness and consistently, and firing Snyder was an absolutely correct decision only it came two and a half movies too late. By the time Snyder shot however much of his version that he did, they might as well have just rode it out. As much as I despise BvS, I'd rather its plot points (ie the Knightmare) get paid off than ignored so I didn't waste my time.

Absolutely yes. They hacked it up and dumbed it down. Whedons silly jokes and cheap cinematography are nearly a deal breaker, artistically speaking.
MoS, BvS and JL still form a formidable and interesting superhero trilogy, but they are incoherent in tone and depth. MoS and BvS feel like character dramas whereas JL is mostly a cartoonish clobber orgy.

Yes.
Even if it turned out to be a terrible film I would have liked to have seen Snyder complete his planned story.

The only advantage it would have had would be to have a slightly more cohesive storyline and feel. That wouldn't have made it a better movie though, as evidenced by how people DONT like MOS or BvS, which were completely Snyder's vision.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't understand why people want the Snyder cut so bad when they got the Snyder cuts of MOS and BvS and DID NOT like them. Why would you like the Snyder cut of THIS movie, if you didn't like the Snyder cuts of the previous two?
Can someone explain please?
Drop the Snyder Cut crap already. Who cares? Its over.
All we can hope is that the next few movies are good enough to warrant some new director to give us a good Justice League movie in the future. But as far as this one... forget about it already.

I suppose so. It's hard to say when we haven't seen it. I liked Justice League but not enough that I wouldn't take the risk.

Just because nobody shows real smiles or humor doesn't make it a drama.

They probably could have salvaged a profit by just finishing what they had.

Someone has found his identity and life purpose. It's called a character arc: Clark in MoS went through one. Same with Batman and Superman in BvS.
Do you wish me to spell them all out for you, or do you want to watch the films unspoiled?

I said real smiles and humor. Real. That is the smile of a person that just fought in the middle of a city and did more destruction than an entire human army fighting another human army. That is the smile of a person that loves the smell of wet cement. lol I mean they went into space. He could have taken him out of the city and not destroy the half that Zod didn't destroy. Nope he brought them back into buildings that were still standing. To quote the great hero Wonder Woman: "Why did you bring him back into the city?"

To be honest, the film critics have it in for Zack Snyder. They just don't like his work. It wouldn't matter if the actual 3 hours of Snyder's work were released or if it were the 120 minute Joss Whedon edited film that we got, because it had Zack Snyder's name on it, the critics were going to hate it. We are only fooling ourselves to think that a Snyder Cut would have been any better since our perception of the film and our reaction to it is based on what the critics say about the film anyway.

At this point, I don't know anymore. More like whatever leaning towards a yes. Like everyone else noted, it would have been cohesive and had some style and personality than the bland studio version we ultimately got, but that doesn't mean it would have been a better movie. I'm more worried how it would have led into Zack Snyder's Justice League 2, which would have concluded his five story arc that started with Man of Steel, but it sounds like it would have been a disaster. Supposedly, Lois Lane died, which causes Superman to turn to his dark side and somehow become manipulated by Darkseid. Batman would have sacrificed himself against Darkseid, and supposedly the trinity of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman would have died (which was foreshadowed with the three crosses at the end of the fight against Doomsday). In the end, these sound like cool ideas, but knowing Zack Snyder, he would have presented it the wrong way.

That was an alternate future if Batman had not brought Lois to bring Superman back to his right mind after being resurrected. I don't think that was going to change. Superman would have stayed good because Batman did the right thing. Now, Batman feeling guilty for what he had done to Superman and as a result giving up his life to save the world probably would have happened (to the dismay of most fans). That probably would have killed the movie right there.
