do you want themes of racism and oppression that black panther could not show. fine. this is xmen 1. not schindler's list. enjoy. Imagine if X-Men did get nominated. And there was outrage because some believe the film didn't deserve it and got the nomination because of affirmative action, PC ideology and Jewish empowerment. Pretty low and disgusting eh. Yet it seems OK to do it for BP and black people.

is not my fault spiderman 2 dofp, tdk are factually superior movies to our now first best picture nominee comic movie. lol Why do you keep bringing them up. Whether they are better or not, different years, different competition, different voters, different society. Not relevant. I think Zulu is a better historical movie featuring battles where an army faces insurmountable odds than Braveheart. Zulu got no nomination. Braveheart won. Should I complain about that, or would I look like an idiot if I did? into the spideverse is the same year as black panther. i dont see a best picture like up and beauty and the beast?
more African Americans speaking out.
disney is one scary company did they think all blacks will just buy this stuff. they think black people dont know about good film making? jeez.

If you are going to reply make it coherent...I have no idea what that response is trying to say So what. How many videos and features by African Americans....actually by anyone regardless of race, are there saying BPs award is deserved . Apparently African American opinion only really matters if it agrees with yours! I tell you where there are people who think it is worthy...in the Academy. A significant percentage of 7000+ people who work in the business and know a thing or two about film making. Still waiting for you to explain how Disney owning ABC influenced the Academy to nominate Black Panther. Ignoring it? Thought so.

summers8 I have a question for you; ignoring its Best Picture nomination, do you think its other nominations were deserved, or were they not nominated for merit?

Still have not explained how they did it...yet convinced they have...you say you know so tell us. Source? Couldn't give a fuck...whether pro or anti BP. It has as much value as just reposting someone elses post on these boards. Pointless. Doing it in front of a camera doesn't make it any more or less important or insightful

Oh this will be good. ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/x67gkeemx/popcorn.gif) I'd be interested in which of the other nominees he's seen and whether they are worthy of a nomination. I'm guessing not...films about Mexicans, homosexuals, evil Republicans and race...they are obviously there because of some SJW/PC brigade bias/influence. But I'm confused. Only one Disney Best Pic Nomination...what a waste of influence.

summers8 I have a question for you; ignoring its Best Picture nomination, do you think its other nominations were deserved, or were they not nominated for merit? I have not seen all but that is not the issue. the issue is how many comic movie have deserved a best picture nomination more than black panther just for better film making.
let me even extend it this year. mission impossible fallout. action spy movie. why was that not nominated?
even if it was about diversity as it was. why wasn't crazy rich Asians nominated.

Because the Academy isn't going to be called racist for not nominating Crazy Rich Asians, but the Academy would definitely be called racist for not nominating Black Panther. And if you perceived as a racist, that's career-suicide. Donald Sterling was forced out as owner of the LA Clippers for making racist comments. Rosanne Barr was fired for making racist comments. Megyn Kelly was fired for what was perceived by some people to be racist comments. So the Academy was scared of being called racist if they didn't nominate Black Panther. That's the sole reason that Black Panther, a movie that shamelessly and excessively promotes racism, got nominated.

Or seeing how a Best Picture nom only requires a 5% vote could be that there are more black than Asian members or the academy, could also be because Coogler has a higher award pedigree than Chu, could also be because Black Panther has 10 times the award nominations over all than Crazy Rich Asians, could also be because the Academy members recognised needing to draw an audience and so the $1.3B grossing film is a better draw than the under $250M movie, could also be because whilst both CBM's and comedies are typically snubbed comedies have been nominated in the past so theres less a gimmick for Crazy Rich Asian.
So yeah fear of racism isn't the "sole" reason.

Except there were two other films about race nominated so that argument wouldn't stand So 7000+ individuals came to the same , incorrect conclusion, you did, and voted for BP despite the fact that nominations are anonymous and as individuals would not be accountable, but cared enough about the reputation of the Academy to vote for BP in the belief that everyone else will follow suit! That is more believable than a lot of people really liked the film? As for Crazy Rich Asians...the Academy isn't just made up of Americans, and frankly the film wasn't really a big deal in most of the rest of the world. It wasn't as big a phenomena as some seem to think it was.

Thanks for pointing out what we already knew: Aquaman is a shoddy knockoff of Black Panther.

If you did you could be celebrating with us and having a happy positive week. But that’s okay man. Your day will come. Maybe the next WW, or Matt Reeves The Batman. I hope you find happiness in that day sir. I can’t wait for it to happen so I can extend my hand and congratulate you and your fandom. You’re a great human being. I hear you, and I respect you. You got my love. <3
