Two others I thought of:
Double Indemnity The American President (don't know if anyone thinks that that one is great, but I do hate it)

Fargo. Maybe I don’t get the humour, but fuck me it’s crap. And I’ve heard so many people rave about it greatness.
Others include [and some have been mentioned previously] : Citizen Kane Godfather trilogy Matrix 2 and 3 (holy fuck they were bad compared to the first) The entire lord of rings franchise.

Well-reviewed, critically acclaimed and allegedly one of the best psychological thrillers ever made. Look at the 10 star reviews on imdb.
I finally watched Don't Look Now (1973) a couple of years ago and was really looking forward to it. What a pile of old sh*t. Nothing happens. It's all this arty perversity and wouldn't scare a four year old. Horshsh*t film. And what was that with the dwarf at the end? And the worst sex scene ever filmed.
Yeah, come at me, all ye students of film. I say it was utter tosh.

If I hated it I couldn’t consider it great.

If I hated it I couldn’t consider it great. Yeah, I think most people here have gotten away from what the question was supposed to be. The threat topic seems to ask for films that you objectively can recognize as being great but to which you have a personal adverse reaction.

I'll go one step further and state that every Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell movie is better than Animal House and Caddyshack.
Now I just think you're on the spectrum and don't know what funny is. An episode of Masterpiece Theater is more humorous than anything Adam Sandler has ever done. Adam Sandler is worse at comedy than Carl Lewis is at throwing a baseball or singing the national anthem. Now I'm the first person to admit when I'm wrong.
It's happened numerous times in the past - and I have no problem admitting.
Perhaps I never gave Animal House or Caddyshack a 'proper viewing' or gave it my full attention?
It's quite possible.
Care to post one 'funny' clip of Animal House or Caddyshack?
And again - I'm the first to eat crow..............

Casablanca bored the pants off me and a few others that I'll update over the weekend I agree with Stags about Don't Look Now too
Solaris(both) Stalker(on paper this sounded brilliant but it was a bunch of arty shyte on screen) 95% of Bergmans, especially that Persona

I think it's more the inverse - it's not that you need to believe Animal House or Caddyshack are hilarious, but acknowledge that Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell have made some absolutely terrible, painfully unfunny shit over the years. I'm not in the tristamshandy camp in that I believe not everything is shit (I like Anchorman, Blades of Glory, Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, Step Brothers), but the drek is definitely in the catalog, sitting there, fermenting like the hot garbage that it is. Animal House and Caddyshack, objectively, even on a bad day, are (at worst) better than those lower rung efforts.....like the one where Adam Sandler decided to make a movie in Hawaii so that he can his friends could take a big vacation together. Or the one where he plays brother and sister. Or that stupid fucking shoe one. Ugh. Having food poisoning offers more happiness. For the record, I really like both Animal House and Caddyshack.

Look folks,
I get that some of these movies hold a soft spot in your heart.
i.e. it brings you back to a happier time - a more simple time so to speak.
Times change. The world evolves.
My intent is not to offend; however call a spade a spade.

I never really cared for Caddy Shack either, but it is also not possible to post a funny clip from any Rob Schneider or the majority of Adam Sandler's movies. The world may evolve, but comedy devolves in many cases.

But if you mean very popular movies that I don’t enjoy... 2001 A Space Odyssey always is first to come to mind. Maybe I didnt phrase that properly... What I meant is that, in theory, you could recognize intellectually that a movie is great and still have a personal dislike for it.

I found 'Big Daddy' to actually be a very comedic charming heart felt movie (actually perfect for Valentines Day) - all about growing up and taking responsibility in life, owning up to your mistakes and letting the people you care about know you love them - with a great cast.
So 'YOU' people don't like Adam Sandler........

These are the bars that I need to clear? I can give you monkeys throwing excrement or guys getting hit in the balls videos for chuckles. Still '0' evidence of 1 single second of Animal House' or 'Caddyshack' being remotely 'funny'.........
Maybe back in the day it was revolutionary for it's time.......

Also zero evidence of Rob Schneider exhibiting any moment of humor, talent, or ability.
