I would recommend: -The Dark Knight III: The Master Race which is a sequel to the sequel of the dark knight returns (have you read this Lord Death Man ? Have you also seen the animated movie 2-parter of TDKR?) -Batman rebirth run- 'the war of jokes and riddles' issues, 'I am suicide' issues single issues- *(#35) rules of engagement part 3-Cat and Talia meet as Bats seeks her out due to proposing to Cat *(#37) superfriends part 2-double date between bat and cat + sups and lois *(#49) the best man finale-pretty sure this is the issue where there's an awesome interaction between Joker and Cat -batman new 52 run- 'endgame' issues As for Wolverine Origins, I think I started that but I never finished it. From memory, I didnt mind it. This has Romulus right?

Definitely let us know what you think of DV, @forceghostackbar ! It shares the title with, of all things, a ’30s Bette Davis melodrama—which no doubt Loeb knows, as he named the chapter-headings in Captain America: White after ’30s movies. But I don’t understand why exactly he decided that. To be honest, I rather like the first solution—though I agree I could do without the second. I’m not sure what I think of the Godfather references. I agreed with you right after I read it, but looking back on it, it’s almost shorthand to tell us who these characters are, but it’s an intelligent reference. Or so methinks, at least now. Either way, a great comic. Will do! I haven't gotten very far into it yet. I decided to finish something else I was reading first. I'll get back to it soon...

From memory, I didnt mind it. This has Romulus right? I have read both The Dark Knight III: The Master Race and, the much maligned The Dark Knight Strikes Again. I happen to be the rare bird who enjoyed DK2 (despite its horrifyingly bad art) and I though DK3 opened with the immediacy and emotional nuance of the first installment but, ended up taking a safer storytelling route by the end of the series. Master Race is competently executed but, it never grabbed me the way the first book did or parts of the second. It’s the world Miller creates that keeps me coming back. I enjoy his future projections of what established characters will become in this dystopian future and, I think he’s great at revealing essential truths about the characters that remind us of why we love them in the first place. I know that sounds weird given his treatment of Dick Grayson, Oliver Queen, Selina Kyle and myriad others but, in his unrelenting nihilism and sadism, Miller manages to somehow strip the characters down to bear metal. I enjoy that. His treatment of Shazam in DK2 makes more sense to me than more modern iterations of the character that enjoy doing lightning-powered pet tricks for street crowds or magically ripping off ATMs. 🍻

Apparently it's about the origin of Bane Knightfall. Excellent! The art is dated, but the story is still fairly strong. Must read either way.
Its not the origin of Bane, rather his first appearance.
