Captain Marvel looks the same age from 1989-2019.
Brie Larson is 29 years old. What if they had hired an actress in her late 40s to mid 50s and de-aged her like they did Nick Fury? Someone like Jennifer Aniston (50) or Julia Roberts (51)?

De-aging Anniston.... Ha, that's a good one.

Neither do the Themyscirans (looking at Wonder Woman).

Neither do the Themyscirans (looking at Wonder Woman). So they're basically treating it like they did Captain America when he was frozen in ice for 60 odd years?

Neither do the Themyscirans (looking at Wonder Woman). In the case of the Amazons, the fact that they don’t age is pretty obvious.

Also, Jennifer Aniston (with decent makeup) can still pass off as someone in their late 30's. Not much need for de-aging there.

I thought the Kree infused her with some of their DNA and blood, which means should could either age very slowly or she could age at the same rate but be in a constant state of regeneration. Like Wolverine.

That said, I think the idea of casting an older actress for Captain Marvel has merit. It would certainly lend more gravity to her character, especially if Feige wants to make her the new leader of the MCU. I do think 50+ is a bit too old (considering that you're locking this actress down for 6 movies), but maybe someone in their late 30's or even early 40's would have been nice.
At the very least, it would have been different and unique choice and they would have tackled a completely different aspect of diversity.

Actually, I just plain agree, but it's also on the condition that I just kind of assumed Brie Larson was in her mid-late 30's already. Being 29 is kind of a surprise for me.
When Yvonne Strahovski came up as someone who could play the part (she was even considered by the studio) it made sense to me because...well look at her. But in saying that, I also assumed she was close in age to Brie Larson. Yvonne Strahovski's 36, apparently, and to me, she and Brie Larson could pass for the same age.

Yes and no, she is technically in her late 30's but she appears in her twenties so she ages must slower than your average human.

Even in my head, her blonde hair compliments the red and blue of the outfit.
