The dragon flying scene was terrible IMO. I understand why it was there, but it could have been half the length.
It is funny how the two best scenes in this both involved Sam. One was with Dany and Jorah, when he found out about his family, and the other was with Jon in the crypt. Two tremendous scenes.

I hate watching this show week to week. Most shows I wait until I have three or so recorded thus I don't have to watch them morsel by bit but can see a whole movie's length of show. I enjoy the discussion and riddle solving more than the watching, so I prefer a weekly pace. In the case of GoT, I even found out it has become more fun not watching it at all but just going through the discussions or memes and gifs on Twitter.

Going on Twitter just hammers home to me the inescapable truth that half the human population is of below average intelligence. Half everything is below average. The other half is above. That's how averages work as soon as the population is large enough. I never needed Twitter to understand that. I don't follow idiots and I don't really search, so I only get what I want to see. The Reddit forums are the worst thing I have seen so far.

First episode had some very strong moments. The good: I loved the Dany/Jon waterfall scene being a "mirror" of the Ygritte/Jon in the cave scene. The scenes of news being broke to Jon and Sam were done well. The various reunions were all handled with care. The pacing was great. The passable: The CGI wasn't the greatest in the dragon riding scene, but I guess it looks as good as any new big blockbuster with a larger budget. Arya's Needle is suddenly bigger than it has been in the past, which is a little unbelievable. The bad: Cersei's endgame at this point has become unclear. What is she fighting for? Cersei has always been about her family. Suddenly she's willing to kill Jaime? She went to bed with Euron? Ugh. The scene of Beric and Tormund walking through former Umber territory was frustratingly dark! I could barely see a damn thing.

The bad: Cersei's endgame at this point has become unclear. People's game being unclear was once a strength of the story. Shouldn't it be the only redeeming quality left in that pile of fan pleasing crap?

While I understand waiting out a war, If the humans lose, it will be a bigger army than she could ever have going against her. Is her thinking the dead to come back? I also think that boinking Euron was stupid although I think Euron was at his best in the episode. Also, it seems odd that Cercei would still be pregnant (I thought it was a ruse) and not showing. It should be months between this episode and last season.

Only idiots ever thought Cersei was faking her pregnancy and it wouldn't take "months" for Jaime to ride to Winterfell after it took a month for Cersei's wheelhouse in S1. Cersei's plans not being laid out in painfully plain sight might be the only thing left worth thinking about in this story. Whatever subtlety there once was appears to be avoided now to make sure the masses get it. Having Daenerys say "Your sister doesn't like me" is probably there because they know her stupid fans don't understand shit otherwise.

It would/should have taken months gather all armies of Dany and the North plus getting the Golden Company, but Westeros has shrunk in later seasons so maybe it just took a couple of hours. Lol at Cersei slutting it up while pregnant with her brother's child.

Good to see you too! Thanks for the link. The slowness of this board had nothing to do with her, but just not having anything new from the show to talk about for 2 years. Hopefully she'll come back with the new season.

Lol at Cersei slutting it up while pregnant with her brother's child. Can't really blame her. She's gone all out all series to get what she wants, no matter how many friends she loses, or people she leaves dead and dying and bloody along the way, just so long as she can make a name for herself as the queen of Westeros, no matter how many friends she loses, or people she leaves dead and dying and bloody along the way.

Lol at Cersei slutting it up while pregnant with her brother's child. You're a mean person. I've been all over the world, and if there's one thing I've learned, it's that meanness comes around. People like that, they always get what's coming to them eventually. One way or another.

Also, are you being intentionally ironic, or just accidentally?
