I don't blame you and I think you are doing the right thing by waiting to read them until all of them are finished , I agree a lot things that went on the show is fan service and they don't make sense , don't think though the fans reaction to arya killing the NK it's what they were expecting fans really dissapointed in that I would say divided , scene where Jon was screaming to the zombie dragon delaying going to bran or the crypts is another scene that annoyed me . Arya won't be resolving the White Walker issue in the books but that's a detail, not an outcome. What matters in all this is that the threat is resolved long before the end and that the conflict for power resumes afterwards. like we always said it would happen  but some argued that WW wont be as easy to defeat
