Most people who went to RT and BOTHERED to say whether they were going to see it or not said they didn't want to see it lol.
Really confusing, I know.
BTW:
"And the avenues for manipulating audience perception are dwindling.
YouTube, where anti-Larson videos proliferated ahead of the film's opening, chose to categorize "Brie Larson" as a news search, not a general one. The algorithm tweak, first initiated to combat conspiracy videos after the 2017 Las Vegas music festival shooting, pushed videos from news and entertainment outlets up, and rants like "Brie Larson is Ruining Marvel!" down.
Rotten Tomatoes, which ranks both critic and audience scores, removed the potential for audience scoring before a movie is released. Though an initial wave of negative audience ratings pushed the score for "Captain Marvel" down, by Wednesday it was at 63 percent — almost exactly the film's average on Metacritic.
Dana Benson, a representative for the Fandango-owned Rotten Tomatoes, said the site is exploring more adjustments to prevent the gaming of its audience scores including a "verified purchase" component to reviews, similar to Amazon's system, so to audience reviews come from those who have seen the movie.
"We've seen it with enough movies that we know we have to evolve our system," said Benson of the trolling. "Anyone that has an open system like we do has received this type of attention. Moving forward, we want to make sure our users can trust our audience score and that we find different ways to verify the reviews."
But positive reviews are fine and dandy. No need to verify.
As far as Disney being caught buying tickets I don't know whether they did or not but I do know there were plenty of reports from theater workers and mangers where large blocks of tickets were bought and nobody showed up.
I mean Disney had search engines and Youtube push down negative stories, reviews etc about Capt Marvel......you're OK with that?
Thanks for proving my point. Most people who bothered to go to RT said they didn't want to see it. Actual audiences proved otherwise at the BO, hence RT wanting to avoid trolls trying to game the system. Your tinfoil hat theories about Disney buying tickets are sad. Why didn't they buy tickets for Dumbo? Oh yeah, Dumbo didn't say anything to offend you. Odd that among all those quotes there isn't a credible source for your claim of 'reports from theater workers and mangers where large blocks of tickets were bought and nobody showed up.' Earlier when I said I was done with the conversation, it wasn't for dramatic effect. It was said in the hopes that you'd give up on the conversation, but I should've known better. You're too angry for that. You've always been angry. A quick glance through your post history finds a thread you started about Muslims inbreeding. This is the stuff you sit around thinking about, I don't know what else there is to say. Do what you do, and throw in an extra lol for me. Peace. "Odd that among all those quotes there isn't a credible source for your claim of 'reports from theater workers and mangers where large blocks of tickets were bought and nobody showed up."
It's not odd at all since I didn't claim there was.....I said there were reports and there are.
I literally said I don't know if they did or not (reading comprehension Rey).....but there are plenty of reports.
But in that article Disney is literally bragging about censoring reviews of their movies and you're cool with it. Not a peep from you about them "gaming" the system.
Censorship and disappearing negative reviews/stories will definitely show those mean old "conspiracy theorists" lol.
You must have Disney stock. There's no way anyone who isn't doesn't have money at stake would defend what Disney and YT, RT ect are doing.

Because he doesn't like Marvel movies. The only explanation for their success must be a conspiracy. It's not a conspiracy that Disney is working with YT, RT, shill media sites to try to limit negative reviews or stories about their films. That's 100% fact.
Youtube burying stuff they don't want you to see through algorithms is probably nothing to worry about. Giant tech and media companies know what's best for us and have our best interests at heart.
And where's the proof of that?

Not once does it say Disney is working for Youtube or Rotten Tomatoes. You said it was 100% facts. And they're still some negative reviews on Captain Marvel. You can look them up YouTube. Here's a fact for you; Captain Marvel's RT "Want to See it Score" started out as 98% want to see it, then all of sudden it goes down to as low as 32% want to see it. Yeah, that's trolling.

You're fucking retarded, I didn't say Disney was working for YT, I said they're working WITH.
If you have a problem with Disney, YT, RT censoring stuff take up with them because they're the ones doing it. YT literally said they changed their algorithm to bury negative stuff and promote "News" and "entertainment programs" which is Disney's code word for "shills". RT got rid of their "want to see" option because they didn't like the results.
You're just like your buddy Rey, you have a problem with people calling out Disney and YT but you don't have problem with giant tech and media corporations deciding what you can and can't see or whose opinions are "trolling" and whose aren't.
The article specifically states they're responding to the failures of TLJ and GB16. God forbid people criticize giant corporations right? Just shut up and consume........

They're not working WITH them either. And FYI, I don't give a shit if people don't like Captain Marvel/MCU, I liked Captain Marvel just fine. What I do have a problem is morons like you trying to spread lies about Disney trying to make them look bad. Nice try!

You should be a detective.
They literally say it's a response to other movies failing. They're OBVIOUSLY all working together.
Nothing I've said is a lie but it all definitely makes Disney look bad.

That pitiful attemp at sabotaging a film happened 4 times from 2019 to 2019 - 'Black Panther', 'Avengers: Infinity War', 'Captain Marvel', and 'Star Wars: Episode 9 - The Rise of Skywalker'. Once a similar attack happened to a film that was almost a year away from its release, RottenTomatoes had no choice but to do something about it. And why would Disney and RottenTomatoes work together? The latter is owned by Universal (or Comcast, which I think Universal is part of) and Warner Brothers, the former of which apparently doesn't exactly have a good relationship with Disney.

Warner Brothers "owns" RT the same way I "own" Microsoft. I invest in Microsoft stock so I'm an "owner" of Microsoft but I have no control over how Microsoft is run. Similarly, Warner Brothers invests in a minority of RT (large corporations often invest in other companies) but Warner Brothers has no control over how RT is run any more than I have control over how Microsoft is run.

That kind of claim is less likely to work when you own 30% of the site, not to mention that Disney doesn't have any stakes there. And after I read that Variety article, I realized that this thread heading is a pitiful attempt at clickbait that will make clickbait titles from Business Insider look fine by comparison. Also, you keep claiming that Disney is trying to save their films by manipulating RottenTomatoes. Well, remember how Warner Brothers were hiding reviews for 'Justice League' until the film's release date?

As far as I'm concerned, Chris Stuckmann and Jeremy Jahns both gave negative reviews to this film and I don't think their reviews are deleted. The former, in particular, didn't exactly like Brie Larson's portrayal of Captain Marvel, so if we go by these guys' logics, his review should've been deleted by now.

The people outraged were the ones trolling the site before the film came out. Keep fighting the good fight online, tough guy. I still don't get why the need to troll over a movie. Seems a waste of time. It's about ethics in movie criticism.
