It's a fair assumption? Did you not see how World War II was portrayed in Captain America The First Avenger? Yes, there are some similarities, but clearly events that occur in the MCU diverge somewhat from real world history. It's meant to be a fantasy reality. How about this? You see the One World Trade Center in several MCU movies like Doctor Strange, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Avengers: Infinity War (picture below). Surely, 9/11 happened in the universe: Again, there are some similarities. But this is still a fantasy reality. Maybe in this universe, that building was always there. Until the films make mention of the actual event, you can assume all you want.

Hate to get bleak and mean-spirited, but this is just too amusing.

Which means that Steve Rogers, who traveled back in time to change the past for his own personal gain, wasn't willing to prevent 9/11 and save thousands of American lives, even though it was the American government who gave him the super-PED that gave him his superpowers.

No it doesn't you simpleton, all this picture on it's own confirms is that in the MCU during the events of Dr Strange and some other films that there are no twin towers, just a single one, as Bud47 stated this could mean the tower's never existed in the MCU timeline, that it was always just the single towere, it could also mean a whole mess of other shit.
And then you are again only thinking of a dynamic timeline, the MCU exist's in a multiverse, Steve could be in a different timeline where he did stop 9/11, or he could be in the main timeline still and he unlike you understands the butterfly effect so much so he knows he cannot change an event like 9/11, if 9/11 happens in the MCU, that causes the US involvement in the middle east as we see in Iron Man, that needs to happen so Tony becomes Iron Man, Tony Stark the man who stopped Thanos, the man who figured out time travel, the man who gave his life to save the universe, undertsnd that, Cap cannot fuck with Tony's destiny if he is part of the main timeline, 1 because cant because if he does he creates a splintering of the timelines and he will live out an alternative timeline, but he also cannot knowingly prevent the destiny of a the man who saved all life in existence, that's something in any timeline Cap would know not to fuck with.
So to double back just to be sure you understand this, what that picture confirms is their is only the one tower in the MCU in present day, what it IMPLIES is 9/11 happened, implies not confirms, implies do you get understand, it does not confirm 9/11, do you get the difference? do you understand?
Now in the movies some dialog may actually confirm this, or flashback footage from pre 9/11 showing the towers may also strongly imply 9/11 happened but unless something is stated about 9/11, the attack or the towers being destroyed even proof there was 2 towers only implies, not confirms.

He did prevent 9/11 in the alternate timeline that he lived in until he rejoined the main timeline.

Rogers wasn't willing to prevent 9/11 and was willing to let thousands of Americans die, yet Rogers was willing to use time travel for his own personal gain and risk significantly altering history. 1 of the descendants of Peggy Carter and her husband whom she was supposed to marry could one day find a cure for cancer or some other disease and that cure could save or improve the lives of countless generations of people. But Rogers was willing to risk altering all that just for his own personal gain. This confirms what I've been saying since The First Avenger (when Rogers' 1st comment after learning he had been asleep for 70 years wasn't "Did we win the war?" or "Who won the war?" but "I had a date") that Rogers never gave a damn about fighting Nazis or saving lives. Rogers only joined the army because he saw that the other soldiers were getting attention from the girls and he wanted to join the army only so he could get some attention from the girls too.

Which he can never know that is a possibility due to that being future potential events, compared to stopping 9/11 and the known events it would change which results in Tony not being Iron Man and therefor all life in the universe being eradicated, you dumb fuck.
This isn't apples and oranges it's apples and tire irons you are comparing you idiot, now shut it yah whore.

Which is why he shouldn't have altered history so recklessly. But as usual, Rogers didn't give a shit about other people's lives or about doing the right thing and instead selfishly used time travel for his own personal gain. We don't know that he altered history. He went to a different timeline - a different universe - that we know nothing about. 9/11 might never have happened there and he couldn't have prevented 9/11 in the prime universe because that would cause a paradox. You still don't understand Endgame's time travel rules please stop discussing the movie until you learn them.

I think the implication is already pretty strong that 9/11 happened in the MCU original timeline. Not that it matters in the context of this thread. In the MCU you can not change the past of a timeline. Full stop. End of discussion. Thanks for playing. It is also highly doubtful that 9/11 happened in the alternate timeline, considering how random events would have started altering that timeline the moment it was created. Maybe Middle East unrest and a hatred for America (something that would have been too ingrained to just randomly eliminate) resulted in a similar attack on US soil at some point, but it almost certainly would have differed in execution and timing ... making it impossible to anticipate and prevent. The question of the OP has been asked and answered. What else is there to discuss?

Even if he did it wouldn't have changed anything in the main timeline. He would simply create an alternate timeline where 9/11 didn't happen. Specifically the timeline he currently lives in.
That goes from any changes. From stopping slavery to killing baby Hitler.

Ahhh...Command & Conquer: Red Alert, Einstein goes back in time and kills Hitler fresh out of Landsberg prison. but this doesn't prevent WWII, it just gets started by Stalin for different reasons. This is just how timetravel fiction goes...someone prevents a bad thing from happening, this causes something even worse to happen. DC-Fan should know better since he watches CW's The Flash, where Barry timetraveled to prevent his mother from being killed by Thawne but this just made things worse so he tried to undo it which caused Flashpoint which somehow created a bunch of other evil metas or some shit... so even if Steve could have prevented 9/11 in the prime timeline (he couldn't have because paradox), who's to say it wouldn't have led to an even worse terrorist attack?

Your weak excuses for Rogers not preventing 9/11 are all invalid since Rogers was willing to use time travel for his own personal gain to alter the timeline just so he could screw Peggy Carter and steal Peggy Carter away from the man she's supposed to marry and thus potentially altering history significantly and potentially making things worse for countless future generations. So Rogers didn't give a shit about changing the timelime and altering history when it came to his personal gain but refuses to prevent 9/11 and save thousands of American lives, even though it was the American government who gave him the super-PED that gave him his super-powers in the 1st place. So not only is Rogers a hypocrite but also this confirms what I've been saying since The First Avenger (when Rogers' 1st comment after learning he had been asleep for 70 years wasn't "Did we win the war?" or "Who won the war?" but "I had a date") that Rogers never gave a damn about fighting Nazis or saving lives. Go watch the movie then talk. Lang: But if we go back and get the stones before Thanos gets them, Thanos doesn’t have the stones. Problem solved. Hawkeye: Bingo. Nebula: That’s not how it works. Hawkeye: Well, that’s what I heard. Banner: What by who? Who told you that? Rhodey/War Machine: Star Trek. Terminator. Time Cop. Time After Time. Quantum Leap. Wrinkle In Time. Somewhere In Time. Time Machine. Hot Tub Machine. Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Basically any movie that deals with time travel. Lang: Die Hard? No, that’s not one of them. Rhodey/War Machine: This is known. Banner: I don’t know why everyone believes that, but that isn’t true. Think about it. If you travel in the past, that past becomes your future. And your former present becomes the past. Which can’t now be changed by your new future. Nebula: Exactly. Lang: So Back to the Future is a bunch of bullshit?
