A reddit thread suggests that the embargo will be lifted today at 2:00 PM (PST). Let's hope it's good news!

All I hope is that we finally get a good blockbuster not made by Disney.

So far the movie looks promising. I've read a review from my Tv Paper. They only have three ratings: Positive, Negative and Inbetween.
Kong:Skull Island got a positive review. To sum up the review: They said it was fun, the special effects are great and they liked the new take on the story. It was also said, that the human characters aren't very interesting and that the story is very thin.

Which trailer is the best representation of the film?
SDCC
Trailer2
Or The Final Trailer?

Alright, so it's got a fresh 81% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based off a total of 31 reviews so far. Nice. The Peter Jackson version still has an 84% twelve years later.

I think it will drop down a bit to high 60s low to mid 70s, reviews say it has great action sequences, but lacks in character development and a strong story, and that's only out of like 30 people...so I'm assuming more critics may take issue with this. personally the visuals from the trailers make it feel like a very fresh and youthful film, rather than going for more conventional shots we have these hyper stylized inserts, and takes. i'm calling it..........WB is going to give him the flash (if this does well in both box office and critically.....leaning a bit more towards the b.o.)

I'm sure WB is gonna nab every director getting positive notice until they climb out of the hole they let Snyder dig them in.

I saw a tech screening last night. Ask me anything. I will say right off the bat, I loved this movie. How annoying is Sam Jackson? On a scale of 1-10 He's always annoying

Variety: "Skull Island Is Ten Times Better Than Jurassic World" I hope so, didn't hate JW, but it was kind of "meh"

Variety: "Skull Island Is Ten Times Better Than Jurassic World" I hope so, didn't hate JW, but it was kind of "meh" I was one of five people who actually liked Jurassic World. Found its utter lack of pretense refreshing. If it's supposed to be better than that, I'm in. From the trailers, Skull Island did look more creative than JW with its creatures and monster fights.

From the trailers, Skull Island did look more creative than JW with its creatures and monster fights. nah, plenty of people liked JW, the thing is that the people who dislike it are the most vocal............sounds so.....familiar......hmmmmm again I didn't hate JW it was entertaining at times, but felt so unambitious and lackluster, perhaps if I had seen it in theaters I would have been swept up by the scale. with kong, whether or not it crashes and burns at the box office or with critics, visually it seems to be ambitious, like the director wants to make a statement, has something to say, with JW idk.

Just seen it-the special effects are excellent (especially those involving Kong himself) yet the plot is quite thin and I think that Tom Hiddleston is miscasthe and, in this film, doesn't possess much charisma as a leading action man

He was the weakest part of the film for me.
