It's hardly shaping up to be the comfy ride to the finishing line that some had predicted for Atlético. And the latest book is as close as it's been since December (when Real were 2nd fav at 11/8) with Barcelona at just 6/4 2nd favourite, in from 7/4 last week. Atlético, trading at 5/6 last week, are also in at 4/5.
The top three all won at the weekend with Atlético breathing sighs of relief in the 86th minute when Deportivo's Joselu missed his penalty-kick which would have levelled the score for 1-1, a decent enough strike but well anticipated by the keeper who flew well to parry.
Real bring up the rear on 60 points, below Barca on 62 with Atlético on 66. Barca have by far the better GD, some +10 over the leaders, +17 over Real. All have played 28 games each.
ATLÉTICO 4/5 BARCA 6/4 REAL 11/2

A 90th minute Dembele goal was enough to seal the points for Barcelona last week and that was after Valladolid's Oscar Plano was sent off on '79. Atlético went down at Sevilla to a Marcos Acuna pot on '70 after Lucas Ocampos had missed an early penalty for Sevilla in a game the visitors failed to get a foothold on, bested by Sevilla on shots, shots on target, possession, passes, successful passes and corners. Real Madrid kept their chips in the pot by seeing off Eibar, with a goal either side of the break enough to secure the points. Atlético travel to 5th placed Real Betis on Sunday, while El Clásico will take place at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on Saturday. If ever Simeone needed a drawn EC, this surely is it. Or would he rather a Real victory? Atlético would go 2nd with that result but stay on the same points, while a draw would see Barca go top on points and the psychological effect of that might not bode well for the visit to Betis the following day. Clearly, what Simeone doesn't need is a Barca win. Title odds :Barca 4/6 Atlético 2 Real Madrid 9/2 Match odds :Real Madrid 2/1 Barca 5/4 Draw 14/5 Betis 2/1 Atlético 11/8 Draw 11/5 Atlético | 66 | +32 | Barcelona | 65 | +44 | Real Madrid | 63 | +28 |

Barcelona 6/4 Real Madrid 6/4 Atlético 5/2 Atlético's draw at Real Betis yesterday put them back on top but it cut little ice with the traders as they installed Barca and Real as joint favs with Atlético relatively sizeable outsiders.

Atletico find some form back. It's interest to see Real Madrid's schedule: 19.04. @ Getafe 22.04. @ Cadiz CF 25.04. vs Betis 28.04 vs Chelsea 02.05 vs Osasuna 06.05 @ Chelsea 10.05. vs Sevilla 14.05. @ Granada CF 16.05 @ Ath Bilbao 23.05. vs Villarreal That schedule I found on flaschores website. But Atletico have a game on road against Barca. That's a big mountain to climb.

Real Madrid slip out of the bookies' reckoning, trading at a huge 11/4 after drawing with Getafe five days ago and despite beating Cadiz on Tuesday. Following their emphatic Spanish Cup win, Barca ran out 5-2 winners v Getafe on Thursday while Atlético saw off SD Huesca 2-0. Barcelona 5/4 Atlético 11/8 Real Madrid 11/4

No goals in a match that saw the return of Eden Hazard in the 77th minute. The quintet of players up front for Madrid for great portions of the game could not find a way through despite 6 efforts on target. But Betis had their moments too, with Rodriguez coming close on the hour with a low shot from 18 yards with which he should have done better. The way is clear for Atlético to maintain their five point lead over Barcelona with the visit to Bilbao at 8pm with Barcelona travelling to Villarreal at 3.15pm.

Antoine Greizmann potted a brace in the afternoon kick-off between Villarreal and Barcelona as the Catalans drew level with Real Madrid on points in a game that saw Villarreal take the lead which was wiped out within 9 minutes by two-goal Greizmann. Later Atlético went down at Bilbao after equalizing on '77 only to concede again on '86. That defeat leaves Atlético two points ahead of both Barca and Madrid with Barca holding one game in hand.

From a betting angle it's been recently all over the place and I feel I've been given the runaround. But traders can only trade with the goods they've got, I suppose. We're back to about 2.5 betting points separating the top three with Sevilla even being shaved a couple of their own. Enjoy Saturday's reports here : IMDB2.freeforums.net/thread/269229/included-todays-la-liga-fixturesAtlético 11/8 Barcelona 7/4 Real Madrid 11/4 Sevilla 18/1 Barca is away to 14th spot Valencia later and Sevilla host 10th placed Bilbao on Monday.

It's a big game looming as Barcelona entertain Atlético Madrid. Suarez is back for Atlético and plays up front with Correa while Messi and Greizmann are playing as their opposites.

After the goalless affair between Barcelona and Atlético on Saturday, Real Madrid, with the chance to go top with a victory against Sevilla, currently find themselves 0-1 down at the break to a 22nd minute Fernando pot. An exciting second half there ensures even more confusion. This league is still open to the big 3 teams although Sevilla are likely out of the race. Atl Madrid have not been consistent. R Madrid has a very tough schedule in their last 3 games. I think Barca right now could be considered in a very good position but Atletico are the masters of their own destiny.
