Excellent episode! Lorne Malvo hosts Peter and the Wolf. Things are unraveling quickly for Nikki and Ray. I think Varga's emotional disorder might come into play somehow too.

After 4 episodes, I give up with this show. It's not ringing my bell

I think 4 episodes in, it's really too soon to tell how good the season is. Neither of the first two seasons featured anything quite so experimental and ambitious as 3x03, however.

The fish rain and UFOs were part of single scenes, it's not really ambitious on the level of an entire episode's narrative concept.

Good episode. What's with the policewoman's inability to trigger sensors (doors, soap dispensers, fawcets, hand driers)? It already introduces the odd supernatural element. Is she a ghost? She's a conduit for the demon Azrael.

The elephant in the room: are we big die-hard Fargo fans ready to admit to the fact that Season 3 has been rather underwhelming? Not yet. Fargo is really a 10 hour movie, broken into parts. The movie isn't half over. It took me a while to warm up to season 2. It wasn't Season 1, there was no Lorne Malvo, it didn't immediately reach out and grab you by the Boo-Boo like S1, E1 did. But eventually, I liked S2 over S1. But the show is an anthology. The "True Detective, Season 2" moment could come eventually. Even if this season doesn't match up its still a damn sight better than nearly everything on TV One more thing. IMO, the greatest instrumental theme to any TV show ever. Loved how BBT's Peter and the Wolf narration morphed into the main theme

Currently I am at S1, Ep9 and at it ranks right up there with Breaking Bad, Fargo and Game of Thrones for me. I have a question, I noticed that the IMDb Season 2 episode ratings continually decline until reach around 7.2. Since Season 1 is great, will Season 2 disappoint me?

Season 1 was of True Detective was great. I never made it through Season 2. S1 story was great, S2 was stupid. S1 had Matt McConaughey and Woody Harrelson giving great performances. Other than Vince Vaughn, the acting in S2 was poor. Maybe S2 got better toward the end. I have little patience with a series, If it doesn't keep my attention, I usually raise the white flag and move on. Breaking Bad being an exception. Just my humble opinion. I hear lotsa folks enjoyed that Seinfeld show. I wasn't one.

Its not a common feeling - But I liked s2 a lot (TD)
Seinfeld was also pretty ground breaking. It had that city (don;t give a crap vibe) selfishness which is the reality- and each ep(most) were constructed very well for comedic effect. I do however prefer curb.

HBO is working on Season 3 ew.com/tv/2017/03/27/true-detective-season-3-david-milch/And McConaughey wants in on it. Whether as a producer or really bringing back Rust Cohle, no one knows.

I think it got a lot better at the end of S2. I watched it late without expectation due to the bad ratings. So if he goes in without expectation - he could be surprised. TD's second season was a victim of the first's almost unparalleled quality (its one of my faves of all time - up there with deadwood and Luther. and the start of sherlock(another show that is a victim of its high class start)

The best thing about that link by far is that it mentions David Milch, who's just finished the script for the Deadwood movie. Can't believe that show is coming back.

I just finished season 1 of True Detective and all I can say is...incredible! "If you ask me, the light's winning."
What does Fargo have in store for us tonight? Can't wait to see.

Much better episode. I don't think there will be a bloodbath, like in the first two.
Face it, Varga is an unpleasant character. But different. You can't have a Lorne Malvo or a Hanzee Dent every season. And DID Varga piss in the cup. Didn't see it, didn't hear it. And one of his henchmen put water in the mug. Is he just messing with Sy Feltz? Yuri mentioned something about "drinking from the cup". Some kind of Slavic ritual?
I thought that Nikki was dead when Yuri the Russian showed up. Once again, is V.M pulling chains? Escalating the brotherly war. He seems to know everything that's going on with Ray and Emmit. Also was struck by the comment that the name "Stussy" works for either brother, as far as the name on the parking lot signs. Will he get rid of Emmit for the weaker Ray? But Nikki will know who whupped her, a Russian. And I want to know what VM Varga's game really is. Not just money laundering? If it is, whose he washing dollars for? So far his organization is two hired thugs. Is he just a shit stirrer? Of an alien robot who will flick a switch and start saying "I can help"?
Kind of curious where the opening scene with the Stasi interrogation fits in. And the damn box in Gloria's car.
Didn't Lorne Malvo shoot two women in an elevator just to prove a point? Didn't Lester send his wife into the office, knowing Malvo was in there, just to save his own skin. Didn't Lester crack his wife's skull? Uncle Bear shoot niece Simone Gerhardt? Plenty of unpleasant things happen to women in Fargo.
