Seles got stabbed when she was 20 which put the mockers on her career. She was amazing till then and was promising to be the best ever. Capriati got into drugs in her 20s which slowed her tennis career. Hingis had a meltdown when Steffi Graf beat her in the French Open final and was banned for 2 years for cocaine at one time. They all were in the top rank of players.

They all were in the top rank of players. I'll be honest, I couldn't stand Seles. I blame her for starting the shrieking that still plagues the game. I was more into mens tennis at the time so don't remember much of Seles or Capriati. I remember seeing Hingis in the Hopman Cup when she was 15, playing mixed doubles with an idiot who broke his hand when he missed a shot and punched the wall. Till then she was all over a power server (Nastase I think) with her speed and eye, even though her own serve was glacially slow.
