Kyle Shanahan should have been running the ball a bit more in the 4th quarter. Whose heard this before? Those Deebo sweeps were working great but I dont think I saw him get the ball in the 4th quarter. He did seem to abandon the run late on. Seemed like a lot of 1st down run for 4 yards then throw on 2nd and 3rd downs. Really abandoned what got them here. |

I think this proves that the Chiefs are a cold starter team. They played this way all postseason. Kinda bleh for the first 3 quarters then in the last 15 or 8 minutes, they just come alive. Which seems to work quite well if you never let your opponent get too unreasonably far ahead and you let them gas out on the defense.

I feel they're building something in San Francisco so there's no panic. They're a team that's young, hungry and stacked with talent, no reason why they can't return with more experience under their belts.
But what the Kansas City Chiefs have done under Andy Reid is remarkable. They're also a fun team to watch for neutrals. So happy for this team and their fans, the night belongs to them.

No guarantees in the NFL but this 49ers team does seem like they’ll have a few more bites at the apple over the next few years. Problem is their division is tough and getting tougher. |

Chiefs get the win 31-20, great game. Excellent job by the Chiefs coming back from down 10, Mahomes bounced back great after throwing the 2 INT’s and made some great plays and led the Chiefs on 2 TD drives and the Chiefs recievers got the better of the Niners secondary and the Chiefs started dominating at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. The Niners offense completely stalled in the second half, their play calling became predictable, Garoppolo was off and they couldn’t get anything going, they never got Kittle involved enough and the Chiefs did a nice job of limiting their rushing attack. It was an exciting Super Bowl from start to finish overall, congratulations to the Chiefs on their championship.

Great game overall.
Started in a weird fashion at the coin toss when the 49ers won the toss but the ref asked the Chiefs. Officiating wise, there might have been some frustrating calls (the PI on Kittle) or the validated TD for KC but they weren't technically bad. I'm only disappointed that Duvernay-Tardif got two false start penalties but that's it.
At times the play calling might have been a bit off but each team had brilliant plays. Fun game to watch and nice results too.
After this win and 3 comebacks in playoffs games (down double digits) the Chiefs will be pretty confident in their abilities while the 49ers shouldn't really be ashamed, it a hard fought battle. In other words, two teams to watch for over the next seasons.

Get ready for the impending "Are the Chiefs the new dynasty?" questions. I usually scoff at these threads because so much bull shit can happen to a team in a year, but with the Patriots and Steelers losing their death grips on the AFC and now Rivers is leaving the Chargers, I think the road is open for the Chiefs and the Ravens to be the next thing in the AFC.
Niners have more competition in their own division where KC is probably going to take first place again next year because the other three teams are in rebuilding mode.
