Philly.
Our Governor put an order out a couple of weeks back to wear masks in public.
This is another reason why it's so disheartening to me. I wish there was a way to police this - i.e. ticket people.
Saddens me. You get stares, smirks, laughter - when I jog by with my bandana on - I just don't get it for the life of me. Especially when I see a pack of people exercising together not social distancing or wearing masks.
I hear you about the Home Depot situation - they're zoos here - there's just ignorance everywhere.
I was at another Home depot and a young girl at the self serve and a guy behind the painting both had their masks pulled down. they just think "I have a mask on, it's good enough" but no other employees say diddly. We live in a country of fucking idiots. It'd be a miracle if Europe ever let Americans in ever again, the people here are so fucknig stupid. I mean, there are still a good portion of idiots who still think Trump is a good person, I mean what does that tell you. Trump shockingly asked everybody to wear a mask today - stating things are probably going to get worse before they get better.
I was shocked. I'm hoping all of his sheep that live their life by his words take note of this.
You're right about the 'idiot' part. Like the biker I encountered today calling me a 'Baby' - ummmmm. No - I don't want to get anybody else sick - I have compassion for my brother.
We have a local news channel around here that started airing ads on their newscast - 'Wear a mask because you care.' Sadly a lot of people don't care and it's all about them.

If so many people are idiots, what do you care if they get sick?

If so many people are idiots, what do you care if they get sick? Because then these fucking morons get other people sick.

What's wrong with being sick? What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

What's wrong with being sick? What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. My problem is you can pass it off to somebody with a weaker immune system putting them in jeopardy - when they didn't ask for this - it was somebody elses ignorance on why they contracted it.

Actually, after nearly five months of learning about this virus, if a person with a weak immune system is in a place where they are in danger, then isn't that kind of their fault? Plus, you're a fan of nature shows, aren't ya? Watch those animals out in the wild. If you're weak and stupid, you won't last long. That's just Nature, my man.

Many elderly are alone and have to fend for themselves.
It's kind of sad when I go to the supermarket and I see a 90 year old with a cane hunched over half blind fumbling around for a can of corn moving at a turtles pace.
Take all of the essential workers out there who may have a weak immune system who are working to support their families - healthcare workers, the police, Fedex/UPS drivers, the guy/girl working in the pizza shop/fast food restaurant, the supermarket workers - they're all at risk too.
Then put one of these jackasses I'm talking about who are jogging in packs of 15 (it's jaw dropping) for miles sweating and breathing in each others breath stream right next to each other, not social distancing or wearing masks - walking into a store and they're ignorantly standing next to this 90 year old fumbling for corn or an essential worker stocking shelves - these people didn't ask for this ignorant clown to put them at risk all because he/she is too selfish to put a goddamn mask on - they're just trying to survive.

That son of a bitch with his can of corn should be grateful that he's made it to 90. And once he's at that age, he shouldn't have his craggly ass in a public place after 1PM anyways. Before 1 is grandpa's time, after that it's normal adults time. Grandpa Joe should be home with his pudding by then, and not be selfishly causing regular folks like me and you to have to change our lives. Really, let that be the "New Normal". Before 1PM, the world is open to the old, the weak, and the scared. Then they should be herded home, and the remainder of the day belongs to us with strong minds, bodies, and spirits. Shit, I may be on to something.....

How do you expect him to fend for himself if he has nobody? Or can't afford to pay somebody to go to the store for him and his living off his social security and he's barely making it?

Hey, don't underestimate this poor bastard. He may be sad and pathetic, but he's made it to 90 as a sad and pathetic human being, so obviously he's got some moxie. It's summertime, there's plenty of benches he can sit on all day.....and he's got his corn.....Christ, the guy's doing alright. 👍🌽

What about the essential worker who may be in their 20s and pregnant - who has concern for her unborn child and she's stocking the shelves right next to the 90 year old? What about her - who's trying to make ends meat just to survive? Just like all of these ballplayers out there who are concerned about their pregnant wife?
What about the cashier ringing this ignorant person out - this ignorant person who doesn't support wearing masks in public except for when they're mandated in stores - that cashier may be in their 30s but have underlying health conditions - trying to survive and they have to be around this person who shows no concern for the health and well being of their community?
Why not just put a mask on to show that you care? Like our Governors orders - that go completely ignored at my local trail and State Park - you'd think these people never heard of the Coronavirus at all.
Thank God Trump put a picture of himself with a mask on Twitter yesterday and then had a presser asking everybody to wear masks - him stepping forward like this sadly influences many. Lead by example.

Jogging this morning - Biker approaching from the other direction As I pull my mask above my mouth and nose when he's around 50 or so feet from me and approaching - He screams at me as he's passing me - 'BIG BABY!!!!!!!' Maybe he was a big Glen Davis fan?

The part about expecting people to change their lives is actually an interesting one.
Because you can look at both sides of the coin on that matter.
Take myself for instance. I've questioned while jogging why these people don't wear masks. Is if fare for me to expect them to change their lives? In my opinion yes - as we're going through a global health crisis.
I've been thinking of going to another trail much earlier - but then question - why should I have to change my life just because they're not following the Governor's orders?
I think I'm just going to have to change mine - start going at like 4:30am again when it's desolate.

Word came a couple of hours ago that the US Government has agreed to pay Pharma giant Pfizer $1.95 Billion for 100 million doses of a Covid vaccine that will be given to the public for free.
Of course this all dependent on the potential drug passing a Clinical Trail - i.e. proving it's
1. Safe to take 2. Actually does what it's intended to do.
Numerous Clinical Trials going on right now by many major pharma companies - curious as to why a deal with Pfizer was struck - unless they seem to be in the lead as to what Phase their trial is in.
Once the news is announced that we do have a vaccine (whenver that may be - hoping Spring 2021 at the latest) - I can't remember a bigger story that may have dropped since maybe Hussein or bin Laden being exterminated. Would be huge globally - all the lives being saved.

I was cycling this morning and saw this dude jogging in a Nick Foles tank top. Well, I say jogging; he was standing with his hands on his knees, trying to catch his breath. Anyway this dork saw me and instantly scrambled to put on his mask. I yelled “BIG BABY” at him - gave him a scare. He tried to mumble something in retort as I peddled away but I didn’t hear him.
