I've begun just walking in the street along the curb with oncoming dogs & smartphone texters. There's no traffic, my 1-2 hour walks are primarily residential, quiet even in normal times. I got an 'On your right' from a kid on a bike yesterday, barreling by. I only heard/saw him last sec cuz my earbuds. When you got your 'On Your Right' - did the biker make sure when passing not to quickly cut directly right back in front of you? i.e. put a little distance inbetween him/her and yourself?
I pretty much deal with this every morning out by my way - i.e. almost getting clipped by a biker - who zooms right past you no further than a 1 foot away from you and immediately goes right in front of you.
It's all about common courtesy folks.
I wish there were more people in the world like myself.
It was on a sidewalk no less. Because of course he was. He used about a foot distance, going 65% top speed.

I went out for grocery today and I was shocked that out of 20-25 people that were present in the grocery shop and the adjacent fruit/vegetable shop, I was the only one without mask. Yes, just me. I just now read that the state government here has banned people from getting out of their house without mask. I tried to order mask online but none have it.
The essentials are still available here. But there is a shortage of softdrinks which is very bad for me for ever since I was 7 years old I am addicted to drinking coke 4 or 5 times a day. This is first time in 28 years that I am going 3 straight days without softdrink. I am feeling uncomfortable but I can't do anything. But vegetables, fruits and all sorts of rice, lentils and spices are available. I just got my first mangoes of the season. Will make mango shake this evening.

Asian grocery stores around me are mandating anyone/everyone inside to wear a mask. I don't shop there but it was in the news because could influence more businesses. I ordered a sports style mask (designed for cyclists/bikers) via amazon yesterday because it's washable & light (i.e. I'll look like SubZero or Scorpion only black). I'll wear that for groceries for other's piece of mind. Loblaws, where I shop, their CEO Galen Weston email's long form updates, including that they're already ordered masks for all their staff nationwide.

I'm wearing bandanas - I look pretty damn cool - I'm color coordinating my different bandana colors - white, gray, black, blue, red with my clothes - wore my gray colored paisley bandana with a red/blue checkerboad flannel with jeans and my Timberland Boots today - i can sense the honeys checking me out

It was a softball league thing for work - different teams were given different bandanas to wear as uniforms (on your head, your leg, your wherever).

Maybe I'll wear my Rorschach mask. That shouldn't creep anyone out.

“I’ve just got to hope I don’t get the damned thing at my age. I’m 88. I’m a diabetic. I’ve had heart surgery. I’ve had a stroke. But I’m glad I don’t live in Texas or the (lieutenant) governor would say, ‘Just let the SOB die. He’s worth more dead.’” - Whitey Herzog

Will homemade face coverings (bandanas) be legal at the moment? Yes, I believe homemade masks will do here in Mumbai. They just want your face covered so that you don't sneeze or cough on others. I am not sure how effective masks are but homemade masks will work in Mumbai. Not sure if that would in any other country where masks may be mandatory.

There is so little news of what's going on outside the UK, US, Italy, Spain and France here in the UK but i did see a report saying there was a couple of cases in the Dharavi area of Mumbai which must be worrying for anyone there considering the conditions and population density. Social distancing must be impossible, is that anywhere near you AJ? and how is the coke (soft drink) withdrawal going? Hope it's not too bad!

But I have to believe it helps in defense also. If the virus is transmitted by droplets, I can't see many droplets from another person getting through any face covering. (Health care workers are a different deal. Working intimately with the sick, in enclosed areas.)

Bugged out of this thread a little while back. So are there still any "sure it's only a flu" naysayers left on here or...?

Social distancing must be impossible, is that anywhere near you AJ? and how is the coke (soft drink) withdrawal going? Hope it's not too bad! BMC (Bombay Municipal Corporation) have laid out a plan to contain the disease in Dharavi and other hotspots of Mumbai. One of the promises made is to test on a large scale. Police have been directed to seal of all grocery and fruit/vegetable shops and door to door service would be provided. If they are able to contain this thing quickly then we can have some relief otherwise we are looking at a massive destruction of human lives in Dharavi (biggest slum of Asia) alone. Let alone the rest of Mumbai and the rest of India. I am eagerly hoping that BMC, police and people are able to cooperate and contain this. Yes, social distancing is not a possibility in slums. There is no space whatsoever. I live in New Mumbai so this is far off from me. www.timesnownews.com/mumbai/article/shut-all-grocery-shops-in-dharavi-hotspots-bmc-writes-to-cops-amid-covid-19-lockdown-in-mumbai/575922

That's funny but also absurd.
Really, what's the best that policeman was hoping to achieve? Arrest a guy running with no one anywhere near him and potentially catch from / infect someone with Coronavirus just to do "his job"?!

I just tie a scarf over the lower part of my face, to cover my nose and mouth. I don't have a mask. I was out shopping yesterday evening in Edinburgh and hardly anyone had a mask or equivalent on - even the numpties serving in Lidl. Crazy. One customer was coughing without covering his mouth at all. Absolute shithead.
