screamingtreefrogs, masterofallgoonsI have three options for tonight The Road (2009), Season of the Witch (2011), & Solomon Kane (2009) If you have seen any of them, which one would you recommend? I just need a good time pass, the movie need to be of high quality. The Road is a good, well made film based on a much better book. But it really is relentlessly depressing. Solomon Kane is a fairly well made epic type adventure movie made on a very clearly modest budget. It's ok for what it's working with, but it's nothing special. I've never seen Season of the Witch, but based on the Nicolas Cage element I have to assume it's a bunch of ridiculous nonsense.

Good film, but very very bleak. I have to be in the right mood to watch it. It makes an interesting double feature night in coupled with 'Children of Men'.

Been watching more than recording on my PVR. Up next, a Japanese horror from 1968, The Living Skeleton.
Once I've cleared up enough space I'll start catching up to stuff on Netflix.

It's very clearly heavily inspired by The Road, but it's got like a zombie/vampire plus Lone Wolf and Cub kinda thing going on. It still has that air of somberness and a depressive aesthetic, but with more of an exploitation movie vibe too.

Goes well with 'Wyrmwood'.

Just finished a soppy romantic film called 5 to 7, free to Amazon Prime subscribers. It’s an OK film ... worth watching just to see Berenice Marlohe. I think she’s one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen!

I'm big into nice teeth...
But...
Think the nose is a little offputting?
Plus - check out the eyebrows - I'm thinking she has to pay them constant attention - she gives off this 'hairy' mediterrannean vibe

It's a no from me on this lady. glad i'm not alone
looks like a knuckle dragging cavewoman
and i like plain looking chicks - i.e. girl next door types that can pull off wearing no makeup, pontail, sweatpants and a tshirt with sandals - and still look cute
this chick just doesn't do it for me

The Favourite (2018) - bit of nasty fun from Yorgos Lanthimos. I prefer The Lobster and Killing of a Sacred Deer, but this film is filled with great performances. Uncut Gems (2019) - people told me this was a 2 hour panic attack. What a perfect description. Anxiety ridden and infuriating without ever being frustrating, the film starts at full tilt and rarely lets up. Probably start watching Deadwood soon as I never watched that one. I loved The Favourite, but only started watching Killing of a Sacred Deer and it got interrupted. I never saw The Lobster, and have a vague memory of watching Dogtooth before I knew anything about him. I feel like I would really like his stuff but I haven't caught up to most of it yet. Still planning on watching Under the Skin at some point.

She gives off an "I'm good looking, not fat and young so I don't work out or play sports' vibe.
