"Stairs? Why walk up and down stairs when one can simply slide up/down the banister instead?" seems to be the thought process made by the title character in Mary Poppins (1964). And on the rare occasion she *does* use stairs, they're not just regular stairs...but stairs formed from chimney smoke! Meanwhile, Janey Briggs could've really used some of Mary Poppins' magical powers when making her slow-motion entrance in Not Another Teen Movie (2001).

There cannot be many swashbucklers which do not feature a swordfight on a staircase, but Flynn v Radford is perhaps the most famous. The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) dir: Michael Curtiz and William Keighley. Flynn is badly miscast. Australia had not even been discovered in the time of Robin Hood.
