if Captain America grossed 350 million what makes you think Cap Marvel can do better? 3. MCU has gotten female blacklash, plus they're late, Because it's not phase 1 any more.
And WW coming out first isn't an achievement or a box office advantage. There have been tons of female led movies. This isn't breaking any ground.
It's the first female lead CBM this decade lead by an actress that is not a big star, also it's going to make sucess, in worst case it makes slightly more than Cap 1, in best case it does 700 million nearing Suicide Squad's BO, considering the competition it will likely do 600 million at best, but no matter the case it would be a record, look at all comic book superheroine movies, all flopped, it's going to be the first one to suceed.

Women leads movies all the time.

Man, how long DC-Fan can keep this crap up, I mean seriously he's been at it for some years now isn't he a little bored trashing Marvel? All that time and energy spent...Wow. Never under-estimate trolls, especially when they're being given all the attention they want. That's why my only contributions to this discussion have been a handful of insults.

And I don't think he understands that we aren't taking him seriously anymore. There was never a point when he was taken seriously.

Heh. Hahahahaha! In the trailer, Trevor asks about Diana's father. Her reply is "I have no father. I was brought to life by Zeus." Made... From... Clay...

You've just proven that MCU fans are really stupid. You're making a claim, which is incorrect, based on the trailer showing what Diana was told about her father. In Star Wars, Luke had been told by Ben Kenobi that Darth Vader killed his father. That was what Luke was told, but we all know that wasn't the truth.
That's what Diana was told about her father, but anyone who knows the comics and is up-to-date with Diana's origin knows that isn't the truth. Diana is the daughter of Zeus and Hippolyta (just like her half-brothers Hercules and Perseus are the sons of Zeus and their mothers) and Diana was given birth by Hippolyta (just like Hercules and Perseus were given birth by their mothers). You' clearly not up-to-date with Diana's origin.

Yes, because movie makers are known for telling the truth about what is going to happen in movies before the movie comes out.

wear the American colors (why is she American themed?) If you MCU fans would use your brains once in a while instead of having everything spoon-fed to you like MCU movies always do, then it would be pretty clear why Wonder Woman wears red and blue. Wonder Woman is the daughter of an Olympian god. She wears red and blue because red is the color of the Olympian goddess Hestia and blue is the color of the Olympian goddess Athena.
That's also why in BvS Wonder Woman's skirt has 6 white stars on it. The 6 stars represent the 6 first-generation Gods of Mt. Olympus: Demeter, Hestia, Hera, Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus.

Both will make money. In this current political climate, there will be alot of support for both films.
You have no idea how important those two films are, especially for feminist who been pushing for female lead comic book films. Wonder Woman is off to a great start.

So they retconned a reason for her wearing American colors? Thanks for that info. Red and blue are the colors of Hestia and Athena... Ha! And how can that not be spoon-fed to someone? You can't just pull that out of nowhere and say it's obvious. And, no, none of that is obvious just by looking at her. Not even the stars. Also, did you know she was made from clay in the movie?

^ This attitude is one of the main reasons BvS failed. They assumed everyone was a fan and knew all the intricacies of DC stories. So they out sequences like Apokalypse and Flash time travelling without explanation, expecting that the audience would just know what it was about. News flash: majority of the audience will not be hardcore DC fans. They will need some sort of explanation for these things. Saying stuff like "we shouldn't need to spoon feed you" is just an excuse for lazy writing.

She wasn't made from clay. Like I explained in a previous post, that was just a story told to her just like the story that Ben Kenobi told Luke that his father was killed by Darth Vader, which we all know isn't true. Diana is the natural-born daughter of Zeus and the half-sister of Ares.

Saying stuff like "we shouldn't need to spoon feed you" is just an excuse for lazy writing. It isn't lazy writing; it's dumb critics who don't use their brains. In Die Hard with a Vengeance, John McClane and Zeus Carver had to deactivate a bomb by solving a puzzle. They were given a 3-gallon jar and a 5-gallon jar and they had to measure exactly 4 gallons of water and place it on the scale to deactivate the bomb. The movie didn't have to spoon-fed how they measured exactly 4 gallons of water using only a 3-gallon jar and a 5-gallon jar because it should be obvious to anyone who uses their brain. MCU movies spoon-fed everything to viewers because their fans aren't used to using their brains.

Honestly this isn't even debatable and never was. WW is a hugely popular character and even comic book movie nerds like me had to google search Captain Marvel. It might be and probably will be a hit, but to think it will beat WW??? That ain't happening unless it's a damn good movie, and I mean DAMN good. But of course your scenario involves equal reviews... So why in the blue hell would more people see a D list character over an A list icon if the reviews are the same??? This is like asking whether a Martian Manhunter movie would top a Spiderman movie.

Batman v Superman couldn't even make a billion dollars with the 3 - or 3 of the 4 - most iconic superheroes of all time. Do you expect Wonder Woman to do any better on her own? Captain Marvel comes out less than a year after Infinity War, which Captain Marvel will appear in. Infinity War is guaranteed to make at least $1.5 billion. The Russos will certainly make sure Captain Marvel stands out, so that everyone looks forward to her solo debut. Just as they made sure Spider-Man stood out in Civil War. Meanwhile, Wonder Woman still has the stink of Batman v Superman on her. Personally I expect Wonder Woman to gross about $600M total and Captain Marvel $800M. The thing is iconic has nothing to do with it. Iconic does not equal anybody cares.
I don't know why anybody uses the word iconic as though it matters.
Popeye the sailor man is iconic. He ain't selling billion dollar films. Because Iconic doesn't mean shit. Caring does.
Marvel knows this, DC hasn't gotten the memo yet.
You were seriously underestimating the popularity of the character when you said this. People have been waiting decades for a WW movie. And you compare her to Popeye? That's absurd.

Well, I can eat my own words. It looks like "Wonder Woman" will be the clear victor.
