Considering the man who ran Daredevil season 2 is also running The Defenders, I'm guessing the quality will be more towards Daredevil level

The reviews are out and I am sold. It is apparently right after Daredevil in terms of quality, according to many reviewers. It is getting mostly positive reviews. I hear the build up is slow, but I actually prefer that. Netflix seems to excel when it focuses on story instead of action. Only one more week.

One more day!!! Still getting good reviews. I am excited for this. I hear that Weaver kills it as the villain.

The action and effects are way better.
I disagree. DCs shows seem like they've been made with a teen audience in mind. That's how I see them anyway.

It seems Marvel & DC have swapped approaches on TV/Film The Marvel TV shows are (mostly) darker than the films The DC films are darker than (most) of their TV shows. Either way, I think Marvel come out on top for both.

After watching the Defenders, I am sad to say that it was just okay. It was not bad mid you, but I was still disappointed. The first 3-4 episodes were very good and I loved the build-up, but then it got downright cheesy. I feel these shows can benefit from becoming more grounded again. The street level stuff from Daredevil and Jessica Jones make the shows more interesting. Where can they go from here except up the stakes, which I feel is a bad thing. I hope they take a step back.

I agree with you. This remark of yours especially, is why it wasn't great. It could have been but the story just kept getting more ridiculous with every episode, until finally it became unbelievable. On a side note: the actor that plays Danny Rand doesn't seem to have any expressions other than to look petulant and as though he is going to throw a tantrum like a spoiled child. I think he smiled once through the whole season. Another side note: please get rid of what's her name, the secretary/lawyer/reporter/whatever. I can't stand her since season 1 of Daredevil. Spoiler: I thought Daredevil had really died and then I looked at how much time there was left before the end of the episode and thought to myself " if they bring him back I'll be so mad" - so of course they did.

Since they are filming Daredevil season 3, I am not surprised he came back, just thought they would wait until the start of his own show or something. I tried to like Danny, but he acts like a child every time he is on screen. Iron Fist had bad fighting and writing, but I though the characters could be cool if done right. He suffers from the same problem here. He is definitely the worst of the three. I actually really enjoyed Matt and Jessica. They are still the best characters.

I've watched the first couple of episodes and it is leaning heavily toward the Iron Fist side for now.
I maintain that Iron Fist still sucks although Jessica Jones is better apart from her series.
Sigourney Weaver definitely classes up the place.

I hope they take a step back. if you don't want a major spoiler regarding what the end of the Defenders reveals about the future DON'T CLICKBefore any Defenders follow-up Daredevil I think will go through some serious crap. He is seen in the presence of a nun. She calls for "Maggie". Nuns! Maggie! Well those two clues indicate that the Maggie in question is Maggie Murdock..Matt's mother. If so they may well be following the "Born Again" storyline from the 80's (part of Frank Miller's legendary stint on the title). If they are we may well see Kingpin try to not only destroy Daredevil's life, but also Matt Murdock's.

Daredevil is easily the best Jessica Jones, at least to me, was second best. I feel the series was really well done. Then Luke Cage. Would have been much better if the last 4 episodes or so were better. The first 70% or so was really well done. Iron Fist was just bad. I liked the story and the characters, but the writing was terrible.
Now Defenders is better than Iron Fist and MAYBE Luke Cage, but still a little average for me. I will probably watch it again at some point.

I watched episode 3 last night and the choreography was pretty good. Even Danny Rand is better as part of the team when it comes to fighting, but his character overall remains sucky.
I think they could have avoided Weaver fighting in the beginning, but we need more Stick.

Jessica Jones is easily the worst. Not jus the worst on Netflix but the worst superhero TV show ever. Jessica Jones is a really boring and crappy snoozefest. Watching paint dry is more entertaining than watching Jessica Jones.

Not ONE DC show, NOT ONE, is even close to Jessica Jones in quality.
